canon_80dCanon 80D

Pros: Ergonomics, double ring, bright viewfinder, touchscreen screen, adjustable display, maf points, dedicated keys, autofocus, reflex for passionate level, wifi, tropicalized body

Cons: Nothing if you know what you buy

Opinion: I purchased this reflex (used) to make an upgrade of my first REFLEX, an entry level (eos 1200d) that began to tighten, especially for the quality of autofocus and the number of maf points. The 80d is robust, gives a sense of solidity and is appreciated for its bright viewfinder, dedicated buttons, which make the various functions easy to access (in entry levels it is necessary to switch from the menu, with battery expenditure), and the double ring. Autofocus and the number of maf points are a marked improvement over my original SLR. I don't miss the double slot, nor the 4k, but it's very subjective (for the use I make of it, I don't need the double slot; also I don't make videos).

nikon_coolpix_l31Nikon Coolpix L31

Pros: practical, simple to use, cheap

Cons: AF not always flawless

Opinion: It is the classic companion that you can always carry with you: practical and easy to use, you can make cute photographs; because the size is conveniently in the bag or in the pocket of the jacket. I bought it on purpose with alkaline batteries (you need 2) so as not to run the risk of staying on foot with the battery, which happened to me with the previous compact. In terms of quality/price you can't expect better.

canon_efs_18-55_v3Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 III

Pros: lightness, kit, all-rounder zoom, cheap

Cons: material quality, slow self-focus, disreliably, unreliable, unsteady

Opinion: Lens usually present in kit (I do not want to buy it outside): combined with my EOS 1200D, I shot for some time only with this lens before buying more. I found it useful to take the first photographs and impratise myself, as well as to identify the most used focal points, which was useful to me to understand which optics to add to my kit. Its quality is of kit optics, so it's a bit dark and the autofocus is slow and often makes a mischifier in critical situations; I took decent photographs of it anyway and I "made my bones". I recently replaced it with the Sigma 17-50mm, with 2.8 fixed on all focal points (the Canon 17-55mm for my pockets was too expensive), but I still kept the lens in kit as a spare mule.

manfrotto_zaino_piccolo_ma-bp-a1Manfrotto zaino per reflex, laptop, obiettivi, piccolo (MB MA-BP-A1)

Pros: quality, hybrid backpack, ergonomics, anti-rain, material robustness, weight, dividers that can be moved and removed, well padded

Cons: access to compartments from outside

Opinion: I bought this backpack because I needed a hybrid backpack for photo excursions, during which I need a single "container" where to insert the reflex and lenses as well as personal items. I have seen several solutions in store, also from other brands, and I chose this model because it is good-crafted and great for daily excursions: in the lower compartment there is comfortably the reflex with mounted the standard lens, plus other 2-3 lenses (as long as not excessively bulky); in the upper compartment there is room for personal items (water, sandwich, tour guide, a sweatshirt and a small tablet). The rain cover is convenient. The backpack is sturdy and ergonomic and the shoulder pads are durable; carried all day does not strain his back too much. It would have been appropriate to insert the access zipper to the lower back on the back to avoid the opening from the outside by the attackers, although in itself the backpack does not give too much in the eye.

tamron_18-200vcTamron AF 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC

Pros: Price

Cons: disre lit

Opinion: I bought this optics (used) to go beyond the 55 mm of the lens in kit and with the idea of having an all-do light and versatile: I realized after a few months that it had not been a perfect choice and I sold it to replace it with the 55-250 mm, which is the natural continuation of the 18-55 mm. This lens is disre lit and makes you realize that the beauty of the reflex is to have a lens for every occasion. Good thing is that it is sold with the standard lampshade.

canon_efs_55-250stmCanon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM

Pros: value for money, lightness

Cons: disre lit

Opinion: Tele lens for aps-c, which helps to go beyond the 55mm of the lens in kit: it is the natural continuation of the 18-55 mm. In relation to its price, the quality is more than satisfactory for those who approach photography; It is also a lightweight lens (it can therefore be transported easily) and is stabilized. It's definitely not very bright and doesn't belong to Canon's L series, but I consider it a more than discreet goal. The lampshade is bought separately and costs...

canon_50_f1-8stmCanon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM

Pros: value for money, bokeh

Cons: -

Opinion: This is my first fixed lens, so it requires a different approach to photography than zooms. I bought it because I was curious to experiment with a fixed optics and to approach the portraits set; the very low price (new costs 130 euros) is an incentive to buy. It looks small and light but well built (always in relation to its price). The f 1.8 aperture allows for a lot of light, it's great for bokehs and indoor photography. Not very easy to find the filter (diameter 49). It is a suitable lens for both aps-c and full-frame and is well in the kit of all photographers.

canon_1200dCanon 1200D

Pros: SLR, ease of use, price

Cons: ISO seal, few focus points, dark viewfinder, monitor resolution not always up to par

Opinion: This is my first DSLR, purchased at a very affordable cost: it is an entry-level useful to all those who want to switch from compact to reflex and allows you to learn how to manage aperture diaphragm, exposure times and ISO. Personally, I recommend that you set it right away on manual mode so as not to get used to the pre-set modes. In addition to the optics in kit (in my case, 18-55 mm), you can combine targets with both EF and EF-S attack, both Canon and other compatible brands, so there is for all tastes and pockets. The materials are discreet and the machine is ergonomic; The buttons are easy to access. It's not tropicalized, but I take it with me on my travels and so far - taking the necessary precautions - it hasn't been affected by this lack. After now 4 years of use, in the long run the focus points begin to close (they are only 9, a little bit... and by the way the only reliable is the central) and the ISO seal (from 800 and up, the noise is heard), but nothing that at the moment leads me to change it with a more advanced reflex.

sigma_17-50_f2-8_osSigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM

Pros: brightness, constant opening, value for money, stabilization, sharpness

Cons: if I have to find it, the lampshade is not up to the goal: the plastic is of poor quality and as a result the lampshade is not robust; In addition, the attack of the lampshade on the lens is precarious

Opinion: I bought this lens a few months ago to replace the kit lens (an 18-55 mm DCIII, so not stabilized) of my EOS 1200D and so far I am very satisfied. As soon as I saw it in the store, the difference from the kit lens immediately emerged: the Sigma is bigger and heavier than the "plastic" and is more robust in the construction. It is sold, in addition to its bag (discreetly padded), with the lampshade, which for Canon is an optional (expensive). The Sigma 17-50mm is a standard lens for aps-c that can be used for various photographic genres, since it starts from 17mm wide angle to finish at the length of 50mm useful for portraiture. Its value is undoubtedly the constant opening of 2.8 to all the focal points, which brings in so much light thanks to the wide diameter, gives pleasant bokehs and generally allows you to detach more of the background than the lens in kit; the optics are stabilized, which allows to recover about 3 stops (the 4 declared by Sigma seem a bit too much). My model gives warm and bright colors, as I like. I preferred it to the Canon 17-55mm because of its more affordable cost (the Sigma costs about half the Canon) and I recommend it to those who, like me, want to make an upgrade of the optics in kit.
