nikon_z6Nikon Z6

Pros: Battery life, iso, sensor, excellent stabilization, grip, tropicalization, viewfinder and display

Cons: AF compared to MKII and competitors, single slot

Opinion: I have been using two z6s for more than two years now and I have taken an infinite number of photos in different conditions. It is a reliable machine like all Nikon. The fact that newer models have much faster and more accurate AF doesn't mean that the z6 has an AF to throw away and that suddenly you can't work anymore. I photographed for years with the d800 and d810 and when I switched to mirrorless two years ago it felt like a spaceship. One of the things that worried me the most was the battery life of the mirrorless. Cabbage! With the z6 I got to make almost 1800 shots with a battery and mixed use of the viewfinder and display. The other thing is the digital viewfinder but as soon as I tried I fell in love, it does not seem to look at a digital viewfinder and does not tire the eyes at all. For sure when the time comes to change one of the two camera bodies, or both, I will probably also take the MKII or what will be there, but for the moment I think the z6 is a best buy, both between the new and the used.

olympus_penfOlympus PEN-F

Pros: Beautiful, solid, small, excellent rings

Cons: for m43 lovers none

Opinion: Machine that I had for a short time, only a few months, then replaced by the fuji xpro3. The body is a masterpiece! Holding it in your hand gives you a feeling of robustness and security. All the rings rotate with a beautiful solid click without the slightest wobble. The construction is impeccable! The viewfinder a bit small and not very bright but you get used to it, nothing so dramatic. For the rest it is a fantastic car. I changed it because I could not get used to the m43 sensor, despite being an excellent sensor with excellent stabilization, even the dynamic range very good ... I didn't expect it. For work I use FF and very bright fixed optics. I thought of taking a small car to always carry around but then, even to match a 25mm f1.2pro did not trigger the spark. Also with the 25 f1.2pro it was no longer so compact... I then decided to switch to xpro3 with the 35mm f1.4

voigtlander_35_f1-4Voigtlander VM Nokton 35 mm f/1.4 MC

Pros: Granite construction, tiny, rings, colors, font

Cons: quite soft at wider apertures, Chromatic aberration, slight barrel distortion, fairly marked flare and perhaps the focusing distance

Opinion: Goal of an impeccable construction! Holding it in your hand gives you a feeling of security. Very compact! Using the rings is very pleasant and fun. I used it initially on a fuji xpro3 where its defects were more marked. After that, he mounted it on a Leica MP, for which it was created, and the music changed. Even more compact for the absence of the adapter ring (even if it was very thin) I understood why the focusing distance is 70cm, with the rangefinder you can not frame and focus perfectly at shorter distances ... but you can always use the LV. On the leica the colors and contrasts seemed more beautiful, the blurred and the detachment of the planes more marked gave even more value to this little one. In short, mind you, it is not an exceptional lens but for its weight, size and price it offers so much! At wider openings it is a bit soft and vignettes a lot but for portraits it is more than fine. then it has an excellent three-dimensionality and color representation. You see many photos around, even here on juza, taken with this lens that are of incredible beauty.

fujifilm_x_pro3Fujifilm X-PRO3

Pros: Beautiful, tropicalized and super light (Titanium version), Sensor, Autofocus, ISO SEAL, Processor, For the moment keeps the price!

Cons: Display opening mechanism, OVF, Menu too messed up, Looks more robust than it is

Opinion: I had for about 6 months a hard black XPro3 and I must say that it is a great machine. It's a unique machine! It pushes you to think before taking a picture and forces you to use the viewfinder. Then it is really beautiful, to see and to use! It is a pleasure to always carry it around. I always carried it with me and I didn't care if I didn't take home any shots. I state that I have never used it for work but only for street photos, holidays etc. Amazing how the same fujinon 35mm 1.4 that I used on an xt1 and xpro1 mounted on the xpro3 takes on a new life. The AF has become much faster and more accurate, it looks even sharper... The files it churns out are very beautiful and quite workable. Beautiful film simulations. The things that made me turn up my nose are that after about 6 months of use the display no longer closed completely, it remained slightly protruding out as if the guides had altered ... we are talking about a camera body of almost 2 thousand euros. In addition to this, after about 10 thousand photos taken, the shutter button had also hardened. In practice, to take the picture I had to push a little harder beyond the second click. Another thing I noticed is that the titanium version actually has two different finishes. The above part is really very scratch resistant! The lower part, on the other hand, is scratched more easily than the classic, painted version. Not knowing it initially I scratched it with the tripod plate ... For the rest she is a lady machine, full of charm and technology. Maybe I was unlucky with my specimen... If in the future the price becomes more affordable I think I will buy it again

nikon_z24-70_f2-8sNikon Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S

Pros: All!

Cons: Nobody!

Opinion: Someone says that the price is exaggerated but if you are not looking for the maximum there is the 28-75 which is an f/2.8 , it is a very good optics and costs half. If you don't need an f/2.8 there is the yummy 24-70 f4 that has a crazy optical quality and weighs only 500g! Many call the 24-70mm f/2.8 Z heavy, but it weighs 100g less than its older brother Nikon AF-S 24-70 f/2.8. It's not little eh... For me this lens is a masterpiece! Fast, extremely sharp at all apertures and focal lengths, focusing distance of only 35cm, colors, three-dimensionality, not to forget the tropicalization etc.etc. Yes, it costs, but it will help you to always bring home a good job ;)

nikon_z50_f1-2Nikon Z 50mm f/1.2 S

Pros: Sharpness at f/1.2 scary! Bokeh, Three-dimensionality, AF speed and precision, Colors, Excellent flare resistance, Zero aberrations, Zero distortions

Cons: Dimensions and weight

Opinion: Excellent optics! I don't know how to define it otherwise... The only negative points are obviously the weight and size and... before buying it, as a negative point I also considered the price, very high. But just take a few pictures to fall in love blindly. It is not an optics to take on vacation or do street etc. it is designed for professional use and I know that from every photo I take I will have the best. I have been using it for six months now for weddings, portraits and reportages and I can tell you that it is worth every penny invested. The 50mm focal length I particularly like very much and in combination with the 24-70mm f/2.8 allow me to take home almost any type of work. I come from a Sigma ART kit of which quality I have loved for years but now that I have made the transition I can admit that here we are on another planet.

fujifilm_56_f1-2Fujifilm XF 56mm f/1.2 R

Pros: Bokeh, beautiful shadows, sharpness in my opinion sufficient even to f1.2 ,construction and design

Cons: Embarrassing Autofocus

Opinion: I decided to make myself a gift and buy this lens for its opening and focal length. What to say, a jewel! Nice and solid as you expect from a Fujifilm lens. What didn't convince me at all is the autofocus... really bad! I didn't expect from a perspective of almost a thousand euros... in good light conditions seems to work properly, even if slow... but just a little backlight and the moped starts to go back and forth without ever hooking... it's nerve-racking! As soon as you figure out how to make the most of it, the fun begins. It's crisp, bright and blurry is really nice!

fujifilm_35mmFujifilm XF 35mm f/1.4 R

Pros: Small, all metal, diaphragm diaphragms, sharp even at 1.4, fairytale bokeh

Cons: Nothing

Opinion: For me it is one of the most successful goals of the house. You mount it and you don't detach it anymore, fairytale bokeh and a fearsome sharpness. They say the AF is slow, but I've never had a problem with it... Certainly in low light conditions it won't hold up the newer Nikons, but I doubt you'll come home empty-handed.

7artisans_35_f1-27artisans 35mm f/1.2

Pros: Small, light, beautiful, made only of metal and glass, very bright, all this at a very low price. Bokeh similar to vintage optics, for me is a pro!

Cons: Not as sharp as professional optics but you don't expect it from such a perspective. I'm not convinced by the diaphragm diaphragm diaphragm without shots, it's soft and it moves easily, not having the chip you never know what diaphragm you're photographing. It is not easy to focus on f/1.2 but when you succeed from so many satisfactions. However, it remains an optic not for everyone

Opinion: Optics bought new along with the 7artisans 55mm f/1.4 a couple of months ago for my beautiful xpro1. I wanted very compact optics, which I could keep in a pocket, and with a wide aperture of the diaphragm. Autofocus is not important to me since Fuji uses it only for pleasure and not for work. This small lens is not easy to use, it has a hateful diaphragm guinea and is definitely full of flaws (soft up f4, flare, excessive vignette etc.) but that does not mean that you can not take home beautiful photos, indeed, you can use these flaws in a creative way.
