Fujifilm XF 23mm f/2 R WR Pros: good image quality. Cons: that cute lens hood! Opinion: There is a lot of talk about this small lens that has nice handling qualities and other purely technical ones. Personally, I don't prefer very saturated colors so a visit to those who only see the photos, a 23mm f1.4 even without WR, would have been a better choice for me. And the higher cost would always remain relative since the lenses, at least as far as I'm concerned, are bought only once. For the rest, it is a perspective that is well appreciated. One last thing. The Fuji lenses concomitant with the XPRO1 (in my hands) such as: 18mm f2 - 35mm f1.4 for example, give a direct reference, as images, to the well appreciated quality of the film. Many of the following ones, on the other hand, starting with the 14mm f2.8 and which I use little as I am not used to its large field of view, which splits hairs in four, while a digital image is the master at the expense of warmth and emotion. But this last topic would obviously be expanded indefinitely and this does not seem to me to be the place. sent on August 01, 2024 |
Fujifilm X-PRO3 Pros: All (with reservation) Cons: Nothing (with reservations) Opinion: And so we are at the sunset of a never so praised Fuji machine. Reading many of these reviews is crazy! "It's not a machine for everyone!" Strange. In fact, Fuji does not pose any qualms or mental reservations for the buyer. Of course, not everyone feels the same way. Such as, for example, discriminating against those who should buy it or not and obviously by virtue of a veiled arrogance that always puts you a step above the others. Hurrah! sent on June 28, 2024 |
Fujifilm XF 50mm f/2 R WR Pros: see below Cons: see below Opinion: Amateur use certainly provides beautiful portraits. Blurring, on the other hand, requires an open and well-approximated diaphragm, let's say, to the face to be portrayed. The problem is, in my opinion, given by the fact that the lens, approaching the foreground and, as they say, "breathes", that is, imperceptibly dilates the face. And that in a professional photo would be unacceptable. For the rest, price included, certainly a nice 10 deserved. Sometimes, and to conclude, in addition to the photo obtained, we are led to handle the object obtaining, at least in my case, a delicious pleasure. Some people call it a fetish, but maybe we're all a bit of a fetishist, maybe unbeknownst to us! After a few days I feel like changing something, for example: the breathing. I must say that the professional photographer will make use of much more equipment in the field of portraits so from an amateur point of view and to which I also belong, it could be something not to be considered too much and certainly get to the heart of the images that this lens can give us. And these won't disappoint. sent on June 13, 2024 |
Fujifilm EF-X20 Pros: Handy, pocket-sized, very vintage Cons: Something made present in the opinion. Opinion: Already expensive at the time of release in combination (optional) with the XPRO1, today, sept-2023, it is no longer feasible given the crazy prices visible on Ebay. Ed, officially it is obviously no longer available. However, while the XPRO1 in these years of occasional use I liked very much, I can not say so about the flash, having replaced it almost immediately. I also see that the flaw of the batteries is made present by almost everyone as well as the delay in ignition, not feasible at a professional level and badly accepted at an amateur level as is my case. This impression of mine has moreover and immediately, an obsolete value at the start being in any case, out of maximum time. sent on September 26, 2023 |
Fujifilm X-T1 Pros: fully fulfills my expectations. Cons: I don't see any Opinion: Purchased in 2015, it serves very well when needed. My current use follows that of film cameras but they are no longer usable, and with three objectives I would have no other needs. On the other hand, I finished the adventure of the film with a Nikon F2AS obviously not comparable to the XT1 for the electronics of which the latter flaunts, but the photos taken and with a few retouching in the B / W print, are still left to look and appreciate without the slightest criticism. So for the use I personally make the XT1 is just fine. A small note I would eventually reserve to the colors that returns the Fuji but they can certainly be subjective opinions. Lenses: 14mm/2.8 - 35mm/1.4 - 50mm/2 sent on January 08, 2023 |
Fujifilm X-PRO1 Pros: It's a nice complete car. Cons: It is not considered "avant-garde" and where, avant-garde, it is the true paradigm of our existence. Opinion: I personally consider it a current machine. And where - the current one - stands for what you intend to use it for. Of course it is not a machine created for "the pursuit of bodies" but it is especially in the context of reflected images, where it can take a few minutes to take a shot. On the other hand, the ease offered, like mobile phones, to take pictures on image concluding that the best will still be chosen, does not offer the certainty of having "got it right" anyway the right one. The photo, in my humble opinion, is first and foremost a mental composition. sent on August 30, 2020 |
