![]() | Nikon AF 28-85mm f/3.5-4.5 Pros: Good sharpness, especially when stopped down little bit. Very low price Cons: Lateral chromatic aberations might be significant issue Opinion: Good choice for a budget use (I bought it for 58 USD). If you are fine with 28 mm as a widest focal length. There is a uncommon macro functionality, but only at 28 mm. Sharpness is good, but purple fringing is an issue. Autofocus is maybe faster than D lenses, but it is kicking when focus is achieved. I had the same excperience with a Pentax lenses some years ago. sent on December 27, 2020 |
![]() | Nikon 135mm f/3.5 Ai Pros: Very good value for a money, lightweight, acceptable sharpness wide open, very pleasant colours rendering, solid bokeh, smooth manual focusing Cons: Contrast loss aginst bright scene Opinion: Very good value for a money, lightweight, acceptable sharpness wide open, very pleasant colours rendering, solid bokeh, smooth manual focusing. Contrast loss aginst bright scene. Price is really friendly so it is not difficult to recommend this lens. However, some zoom lenses are sharper these days. Also you have to take care about light sources, modern coatings are missing, as can be expected from a vintage lens. sent on April 08, 2019 |
![]() | Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 AF (1987 version) Pros: Good contrast, useful focal range, constant aperture f2.8, good sharpness. Bulilt like a tank. Cons: Slow and noisy AF, bokeh could be little bit better. Quite heavy. Opinion: In general, very good lens indeed. Especially, right now it can be bought for a solid money. Good contrast, useful focal range, constant aperture f2.8 is very welcome, good sharpness. Built like a tank. I bought this lens more than 20 years old, but in excellent condition. Slow and noisy AF, bokeh could be little bit better. Lens is also quite heavy. sent on March 25, 2019 |
![]() | Sigma 24-105mm f/4 DG OS HSM Art Pros: Fast and accurate AF, usable focal range, sharp at 24 mm (fully comparable wqith primes), effective VR Cons: Brutal vignetting wide open (not so easy to remove), less sharp within 80-105mm focal range Opinion: Not a bad value for money, but brutal vignetting wide open and f4 is limiting factors. At the end of the day, it is better to use a prime lenses :) Fast and accurate AF, usable focal range, sharp at 24 mm (fully comparable wqith primes), effective VR, less sharp within 80-105mm focal range. Otherwise, bokeh is quite pleasing, although not much pronounced due to the f4. sent on March 25, 2019 |
![]() | Yongnuo YN 50mm f/1.4 II Pros: Low price, fast aperture, solid build, slow but relative accurate AF, film era contrast Cons: Film era contrast, slow and noisy AF Opinion: I would say good value for a money. Sharpness is roughly on the level of Nikon 50mm f1.8G. At f2 Yongnuo is much better, at f2.8 they are equal, but at f=5.6 Nikon strikes back. Both have slow AF, but Nikon 50mm f1.8G is not noisy. Lens has an old school contrast, it depends on taste, it might be pros and cons as well. Anyway, iot is something what might be treated in postprocessing easily. If you don?t have money for superb Sigma 50mm f1.4 Art, Yongnuo 50mm f1.4 is reasonable choice. sent on March 22, 2019 |
