![]() | Canon Adattatore Canon EF/Canon RF Pros: Allows all EF lenses to be used on RF mirrorless cameras Cons: None Opinion: Well made product and with a cost all in all aligned, it allows me to use all EF lenses on the R5 MkII without any problem. The fact that it is also tropicalized is a further operational advantage, particularly useful in less environmentally favorable contexts. I also tested it on very old lenses, including the first EF 100mm. macro and I didn't detect any problems, everything works as on an EF body. Definitely to be purchased with the first mirrorless to avoid having to immediately rebuild the lens park from scratch. sent on November 15, 2025 |
![]() | Canon EOS R5 Mark II Pros: High image quality, versatility, rich functions, ergonomics, energy consumption Cons: Some limited criticalities with the autofocus, perhaps rather complex menu due to the amount of options, otherwise I found no faults Opinion: Purchased a few months ago, it represented for me the entry into the modern mirrorless world. Taking into account that I only use it to take photos, so far it has met expectations very much. Robust enough to fall out of my hand without having even a scratch, it is a concentrate of technologies, so much so that in some contexts I have not yet found the best possible combination to make the most of its characteristics. The quality performance is very good, beyond the resolution itself I find that dynamics and colors are excellent, with very well workable files produced. The autonomy is good, with the battery grip you can largely exceed a thousand shots. Excellent autofocus with all the lenses I own, only in some very critical junctures does it show limits. I don't use focus with the eye as I don't think it's accurate enough, at least in my case, I prefer to do without it. Good ergonomics, I had to become familiar with the new layout of the controls but the adaptation was very quick and now I find it particularly apt as a solution. The electronic viewfinder is much appreciated, which does not make you regret the optical version of the reflex cameras excessively, the display is comfortable and versatile. Honestly, so far I think I have exploited only a small part of the potential of the car but after all it is very difficult to use all the functions, unless you want to do it only for the purpose of real technical testing. In the end, the mix offered is very satisfactory and I judge the cost of the camera to be well correlated with the features offered. sent on November 15, 2025 |
![]() | Canon RF 24-105 mm f/4 L IS USM Pros: Overall quality, good construction even if it favors not excessive dimensions and acceptable weight, versatility, good quality / price ratio Cons: I don't find any particular flaws, it is an all-rounder and performs its task adequately Opinion: Purchased together with the first mirrorless, this lens represents, in my humble opinion, the latest evolution of the first EF 24-105 f/4 L IS, which I still own, compared to which it has obviously been improved in several, if not all, aspects. In particular, the resolution has improved as well as the color rendering, in addition to this it is significantly smaller in size and weight. The purple fringing that heavily afflicted the first version has also been substantially reduced. Being basically an all-rounder zoom, it lends itself quite well to generalist use, without reaching extreme results but still guaranteeing a more than decent minimum quality. The construction seems to me less striking than the progenitor, however this seems solid enough, if not more, for the uses I usually do. And the quality/price ratio, in my opinion, is more than good. Of course, for better results there is the f/2.8 version, however the considerably higher cost but also the weight and size that distinguish it have pushed me to this lens more in line with my needs. sent on November 14, 2025 |
![]() | Canon 1000D Pros: Lightweight and easy to use, discreet image quality, a valid entry level at the time of its presentation on the market Cons: Low-cost product, therefore made with purely economical materials and characteristics Opinion: The 1000D was the first Canon reflex I bought, the camera that allowed me to take the first steps to better learn concepts and technical notions, coming from the bridge world it was still a valid travel companion until a couple of years later I switched to the 60D. Of course, in 2025 it definitely appears to be an outdated tool, but at the time it was not at all despicable, ultimately it was still a good start, the image quality was certainly not comparable to models that cost ten times as much, however it allowed you to take good photos. After using it for a couple of years, it was the second camera body for a while until I gave it to a friend. All in all, the judgment is largely positive, paid very little she still performed her service well. sent on November 14, 2025 |
![]() | Canon 5D Mark IV Pros: Robustness, reliability, autonomy, autofocus, sensor with valid performances, excellent general characteristics Cons: Nobody Opinion: The latest heir to a successful product line, the 5D Mk IV was for me the logical evolution of a journey that began years earlier. I have used it for years as a main camera and in all contexts it has always provided excellent performance. Reliable as it has never had the slightest technical problem and with a sensor with an adequate resolution, it has given me the opportunity to carry out several shootings with great satisfaction. Robust and well structured, it churns out good quality files that are well workable in post production, allowing me to work even by raising the ISO without worrying excessively about the noise generated. Size and weight all in all well manageable, having even rather large hands I immediately found the ideal feeling in use, the relative ease of use did the rest. Very good autofocus, both via optical viewfinder and using the rear screen, allows you to be fast enough in contexts where dynamism is required. Used immediately with battery grip, it is appreciated for its excellent autonomy, with limited battery consumption. For me this was the ideal reflex, now the transition to mirrorless has made me put it aside even if I still use it in certain situations, its characteristics also allow it to be used in almost all situations, with good lenses it is still very valid. sent on November 14, 2025 |
![]() | Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L USM Pros: Image quality, colors, autofocus, good overall realization Cons: Rather significant weight and size Opinion: I bought this lens from a friend, who wanted to get rid of it as it was not working. In the end it was the infamous breakage of the flat cable that caused the malfunction of the diaphragm and therefore the consequent error shown on the display, inhibiting use. Had repaired by a service center, it therefore turned out to be a good purchase. Definitely valid definition, even the colors look very good, I had the opportunity to use it in several portrait shoots, appreciating the rendering. The fact that the lens has a certain age does not affect the results at all, in some contexts it can still say its very good. I have had the opportunity to use it both on reflex and mirrorless and in both cases it produces excellent results, the autofocus is also impeccable, very responsive and on mirrorless even slightly more effective in my humble opinion. Small moles, which are not a problem, are the fairly sensitive weight, which in sessions of several hours is felt, as well as the not exactly reduced dimensions. On the other hand, the fact that the zoom works in the opposite way to usual, lengthening when setting shorter focal lengths and vice versa, did not create the slightest problem for me. Overall, despite the years, a product that is still well usable, which has absolutely not made you regret the money spent. sent on November 13, 2025 |
![]() | Canon RF 200-800mm f/6.3-9 IS USM Pros: Focal range, price, colors and definition decidedly valid, weight all in all low and good handling Cons: Autofocus in difficulty in some situations, lack of distance limiter, a certain general latency. Opinion: Purchased essentially for plane spotting, among the positive aspects I would put first of all the focal range, and then the good optical quality, with the right times you get respectable definitions, with a significant improvement compared to the Sigma 150-600 Contemporary used so far. The mechanical construction seems to me all in all aligned with the cost of the product, it should be noted that although it is not an L series it is still supplied with a lens hood. The weight is also to be counted among the advantages, the lens proves to be manageable and not tiring, at least so far I can't complain in this respect. I must also say that aesthetically I don't mind, the fact that it lengthens with the focal length does not bother me, since the Sigma was already similar in this respect. The only two limits are a certain general latency and a marked difficulty in finding the correct focus in some situations, in this the lack of a limiter regarding the minimum distance certainly does not help. However, I consider it a lens that is fully worth the price paid, the uncertainties it shows from time to time all in all are acceptable also because I have encountered them in quite particular situations, during normal use there are no problems. sent on November 13, 2025 |
![]() | Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS USM Pros: Good construction, image quality, light for a tele, very good value for money Cons: Stabilizer a bit noisy Opinion: Excellent telephoto zoom, initially I bought it trusting to later switch to its older brother f2.8, however the more than good performance and the considerable difference in cost have subsequently pushed me to continue using this lens. valid construction, I used it both indoors and outdoors, finding it very valid in portraits for example but also doing plane spotting, in the latter case particularly on APS-C bodies, where thanks to the crop factor it becomes particularly appreciable for more distant subjects. Not exceptional construction but still adequate to the quality level of the optics, stabilizer that makes itself heard with noises that initially arouse some concern but then, in fact, do not represent a problem. Truly captivating image quality, light and versatile, it has always met my expectations so much so that I never felt the desire to change it for something more performing. I currently use it with an R5 MkII, using an EF/RF adapter ring, with full satisfaction. sent on November 13, 2025 |
![]() | Canon 6D Pros: Image quality, especially at high ISO, overall performance all in all in line with the price, versatility, attractive price Cons: Electrical problems, not particularly reliable exposure meter Opinion: Although there have been controversial aspects, my opinion of the 6D is certainly positive. The construction is not impeccable but it is still the entry level full frame, for more performing materials and realizations there are the superior models. What I particularly liked was the quality of the images churned out by the camera, clean and well workable, in many cases I was pleasantly surprised by the results, in several situations exceeding expectations. The colors were also definitely appreciated. Coming from a 60D the leap in quality has been remarkable, the images have acquired a greater depth, perhaps helped in this by the greater vignetting compared to the shots obtained from the APS-C body, in any case the overall pleasantness has had an absolutely perceptible improvement. I encountered some problems with the exposure meter, not exactly the best precision, but the biggest problems were purely electrical. In one case, during a trip to France, the car left me on foot refusing to turn on, a failure then attributable to the micro switch that detects the closure of the cover relating to the battery compartment, subsequently replaced under warranty. In the situation in question I got away with using the 60D that I had with me as a second body. But even later I encountered a fairly annoying problem, again of an electrical nature, consisting of the rapid and sudden discharge of the batteries. Among other things, always using the battery grip. It happened to me on several occasions that the car, laid down the night before with both batteries fully charged, I found it the next morning with the same completely on the ground, without energy and totally discharged. Thick mystery about the causes, after three service interventions without resolution the camera was replaced, however the problem recurred identically even with the new camera, even changing the battery grip. Incidentally, both the batteries and battery grips were all original Canon. In my humble opinion, the problem was inherent in a trivial discontinuous electrical dispersion, which could occasionally occur without particular evidence, with the result that it quickly led the batteries to complete discharge. Apart from this annoying aspect, however, I still own the 6D and from time to time I use it for a few shots without obligation. However, it is always a pleasure to see the images he produces. sent on November 13, 2025 |
![]() | Sigma USB Dock Pros: Functional and practical, simple but useful Cons: Nobody Opinion: Purchased together with the 150-600 Contemporary, I was able to verify its ease of use and the effectiveness of the actions, useful both for correcting focusing errors as well as setting the lens for a more relevant operation in certain contexts, it is amply worth the money it costs. Especially convenient for avoiding interventions in service laboratories and thus avoiding slow downtime and additional expenses sent on November 12, 2025 |
![]() | Canon 60D Pros: Reliability, good performance, versatility Cons: Files not very workable at high ISO, lack of fine adjustment lens focus Opinion: Purchased many years ago, it represented the first reflex of a certain commitment, with decidedly valid characteristics at the time of purchase. A decidedly valid overall quality, it has returned for many years an operation free of uncertainties and without complaining of any disservice. Images that are still good, the only limits found were largely centered on shots taken at high ISO, where the processing possibilities of the same are not particularly extensive. Until the purchase of the first full frame it was a real workhorse, then relegated to contexts where the APS-C format was preferential, first of all plane spotting. No problem with the adjustable LCD monitor, the first Canon DSLR with this feature, at the time of its release it was certainly a topical product, obviously then the evolution was so rapid that in a few years it was no longer competitive compared to more recent models, however as far as I am concerned it was a camera that allowed me to carry out the first works of a certain commitment. And above all, it has never had failures of any kind, showing more than good robustness. sent on November 12, 2025 |
![]() | Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Pros: Construction, performance, focal range, solidity, quality/price ratio Cons: Purple fringing, otherwise it's a lens made with some small compromises Opinion: Purchased over twelve years ago, it was the first L series in my possession, paid at a truly attractive price. Used in several shootings and in many disparate situations, it has always shown itself to be up to the task without failure, only recently I happened to have, on a single occasion, the rubber coating of the zoom slightly loose, on a very hot day, however then with normal temperatures it resumed its usual functionality. For the rest, more than decent performance, sharpness and colors more than appreciable for a zoom with these characteristics, effective autofocus, not excessive weight, the only evidence of a certain importance a fairly marked purple fringing. The lightness expands its versatility, currently I use it much less frequently than in the past, however it is always a valid solution for uses where a comfortable but qualitative lens is needed. sent on November 12, 2025 |
![]() | Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM C Pros: Focal range, value for money, good overall quality, not excessive weight Cons: Considering the price, I don't find any substantial flaws Opinion: Purchased a few years ago and used almost exclusively for plane spotting on full frame Canon, I can say I am very satisfied with the overall result. Regarding the operating characteristics I found the focusing very effective, precise and rather fast even in particularly difficult contexts, in addition to this I consider the optical performance more than decent for the price paid, with a valid sharpness and more than good colors. Quite manageable thanks to the not excessive weight, as far as I'm concerned I have a good experience of use, especially with SLRs, but also on full frame via adapter. Purchased used by RCE, together with the Sigma USB dock, it actually showed a perfect calibration right from the start, making the dock superfluous, except for updates and custom settings. Overall a lens that I was fully satisfied with for the purpose for which it was purchased. sent on November 12, 2025 |
![]() | Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM Pros: Construction, yield, overall good quality Cons: Some need for focus calibration with SLRs Opinion: Purchased in 2011, it was my first lens of some commitment, for about a year I used only this lens to do a little bit of everything, but mainly shootings with models with a Canon APS-C camera body, later, after the first year the use was very occasional. However, it still happens to use it even with full-frame bodies. In general I found the performance better than the Canon 50mm. f/1.4 that I had the opportunity to try later. The only weak point turned out to be a certain inaccuracy in focusing, limited to full-frame camera bodies, which was then resolved by calibrating the lens on each body, while in APS-C it was less noticeable. The problem has never been highlighted on mirrorless, as these focus directly on the sensor. All in all I can say that I have had very positive experiences with this lens, built in an excellent way and adequate for the price paid sent on November 12, 2025 |
