![]() | Panasonic Lumix LF1 Pros: Compact, rugged, razor-sharp Leica optics, lightning-fast AF, efficient stabilization, viewfinder Cons: too bad it doesn't start from 24mm. Opinion: A compact that is a marvel. I use it in the street, you don't notice it and people take you for a tourist. Instead, it churns out RAW files that are often amazing which, with a few posts, do not look out of place at all when compared to those produced by infinitely superior cameras. Fast and precise autofocus, sharpness that leaves you amazed, vivid and real colors. Of course, you can't ask for miracles from the sensor and obviously it gives the best at low iso, but even raising them and with a passage in Camera Raw the results are excellent. A machine that gives me a lot of satisfaction and that I have never regretted having (unlike many others). Vote 10 sent on October 23, 2025 |
![]() | Nikon Z DX 12-28mm f/3.5-5.6 PZ VR Pros: Excellent level for construction, lightness, internal zoom, quietness, autofocus, effective stabilization. Cons: There is no reference to the focal length barrel in use. Comes WITHOUT lens hood. Opinion: Optics that amazed me for its workmanship, sharpness, portability. Used for street use, it guarantees largely satisfactory results. The autofocus is fast, precise and very quiet. Stabilization does its job well. I hate powerzooms but this made me change my mind because it doesn't seem so at all, the zoom is fluid and fast, completely internal so without annoying extensions. I find it inconceivable that NIKON has not indicated on the barrel the intermediate focal lengths (14, 16, 18, 24), apart from the two extremes that are obviously intuitive, on the other hand it must be said that with the latest firmware the display of the focal length in use appears on the display. The same goes for the non-existent lens hood. As if to say that marketing has now taken over the quality of service of a noble brand. sent on August 04, 2025 |
![]() | Sigma DP0 Quattro Pros: files comparable to the mythical Kodachrome Cons: despite having a wide range does not tolerate iso above 100. Needs view-finder to buy separately Opinion: It is a great falling in love, and like all great loves it has its pros and cons. It is a meditation machine, a kind of small optical bench ideal for landscape photography, architecture and slow-reportage, categories in which the final results are of absolute quality levels. It should be used exclusively as if you had loaded a 100 iso film, so you need light, on the other hand the files it returns seem to come out of a Kodachrome or a Velvia: saturated, exceptional microcontrast, three-dimensionality, the intoxicating impression is to be "inside" the photograph. Photographically speaking, raising the iso is suicide but if you know it you adapt. The adjustments are very simple. the fixed LCD is dark and in light, which this machine feeds on, it is almost useless, it must necessarily be accompanied with the LVF-01 viewfinder which makes the shooting very pleasant. Mounts a 21mm. fixed, very sharp, has no distortion and still has a digital bubble that does its job perfectly. Under pressure or with high temperatures it tends to heat up and should be put to rest for a while. It is not heavy and although its design may raise doubts, the handling is optimal. As far as I'm concerned, it's a love destined to never end. sent on July 22, 2022 |
![]() | Nikon Z50 Pros: It has the right lightness and compactness. The body is solid and holding it is a real pleasure. The mechanical shutter is little more than a rustle. It is absolutely customizable. The top is autofocus, very rare cases of incorrect focus, even in borderline conditions. With the 16-50 the files are amazing, real colors, three-dimensionality, microcontrast. Cons: Surely the battery, for a day you need 2 to 3 (and they cost). In order to exploit the full potential of the machine, at least at the beginning, the manual is necessary. Nital who evidently wants to tease his clients provides the "kindergarten" version, if you want a serious thing you have to download the manual in the English version provided by Nikon. Finally the 50-250 of the kit is absolutely mediocre. Ah, I forgot, in this race to save you now give up even those little things that were once obvious, so if you want the lampsheds you have to buy them. Opinion: After some doubt I took her to make street. I come from Sony and Fujifilm which theoretically for the street are considered the ideal brands. Well, this mirrorless, from my experience, gives him beer. Used in manual the controls are quick and intuitive, the autofocus does not miss a beat, the files are enchanting. It is fast, sufficiently quiet, but can be totally silenced, at least in daylight (because with artificial the shutters are guaranteed). It holds well even at high sensitivities. In short, it is one of the most functional and fun machines I have ever had (and I have had them!). Also used with the FTZ adapter, but it becomes bulky, unbalances the machine and all the ambaradan, in my opinion, makes some of the essential characteristics disappear: size, lightness and handling. For the photographic genre I practice a 14mm Z it would be a blessing of heaven. sent on June 23, 2021 |
![]() | Fujifilm XC 35mm f/2 Pros: Excellent sharpness, small, light, precise and quiet autofocus, amazing value for money. Cons: for its price none. Opinion: I use it mainly for the street and I found that it can give considerable satisfaction. It is compact and light, lightning and very quiet in focus, a sharpness that amazes, excellent color rendering and a very pleasant three-dimensional effect. Used on Fujifilm X-H1. For value for money a highly recommended purchase. sent on June 09, 2020 |
![]() | Samyang 12mm f/2.0 NCS CS Pros: Light, extraordinarily sharp, irrelevant distortion, saturated color rendition, good flare correction in backlight thanks to the lens hood, excellent value for money. Cons: On Sony the aperture value is not displayed in the viewfinder and display. Opinion: Used, all in manual, on Sony a6300 and a7RII (equivalent to an 18mm) produces clean and very beautiful files, both in terms of sharpness and color rendition and three-dimensionality. The manual focus, also thanks to focus peaking is fast and accurate. An ultra wide angle that, used in hyperfocal, allows you to always have everything in focus, from the very first floor to infinity. Indispensable in street photography. sent on May 20, 2019 |
![]() | Zeiss Loxia 21mm f/2.8 Pros: Absolute sharpness, three-dimensionality, solid and compact, distance scale, diaphragms and depth. Cons: Virtually no one Opinion: Used with Sony A7RII produces absolutely amazing files in every situation, even at night at 12,800 ISO. Being able to see at a glance the diaphragm set is a pleasure, the manual focus allows to work in hyperfocal with a precision and a speed that no autofocus system allows. An optical masterpiece, irreplaceable for those who interpret photography, to quote HCB, as a "hard fun". sent on January 25, 2019 |
