nikon_z600_f6-3Nikon Z 600mm f/6.3 VR S

Pros: AF speed, excellent blur, weight, balance, sharpness.

Cons: It's not sharper than 500 pf....

Opinion: Updated review. Really excellent optics throughout. Although I don't think it's sharper than the 500 PF that I was able to compare with the 600 as I briefly owned both. Compared to the 500 pf, the 600 has a more pleasant blur with more three-dimensional images...... and greater backlight hold. The 600 is also better balanced when used handheld. I tried them on the Z6II and Z50II, and the 500 PF proved to be very sharp even with the 1.4xIII teleconverter with which it maintains an almost unchanged sharpness compared to the "smooth" use. The 500pf with 1.4xIII is almost as sharp as the 600pf in quotes. In my opinion, with the 600 you get better results in the field thanks to the more advanced optical design than the 500. I was undecided, I wanted to keep them both but it wasn't possible, so I put them up for sale... then I chose to keep the 600 since it is native for mirrorless and does not need adapters, adapters that I do not digest much. However, the 500pf with the ftz adapters actually behaves like a native optic.

nikon_500_f5-6pf_vrNikon AF-S 500mm f/5.6 E PF ED VR

Pros: VR, sharpness, weight and transportability.

Cons: obviously not comparable to f4

Opinion: Really remarkable the transportability in relation to the focal length of the lens. Leaving aside the various super artifact or close-range shots that are on the net, my opinion is that the resolve of this lens is more than good, but not comparable to f4. I owned the 500 f4 ISII, the 500 f4 FL, and still own the Sigma 500 f4 OS. As sharpness and resolve, the 500 f5.6 PF is more or less comparable to the 500 f4 multiplied by 1.4x!

sigma_500_f4os_sportSigma 500mm f/4 DG OS HSM Sport

Pros: Ultra Sharp, fast and customizable AF, excellent multiplied.

Cons: Maybe the stabilizer does not equal the ones more noble, but effective enough.

Opinion: I had both the Nikon 500 F4 FL, and previously the Canon 500 F4 ISII. This Sigma has nothing to envy to the other two.... In fact, regarding the AF I would say a step above considering the customizations etc... Really excellent even multiplied, perhaps, but I say maybe, the 500 ISII was a sharper Pelino only DUPLICATED, but I said perhaps (and probably depends on the duplicator, as smooth and multiplied to 1.4 is really exceptional, equal to or better than the other two). They Confirm what I have written the tests carried out by the only site that I personally find reliable and consistent with what I have been able to test in the field during my years of experience. Consider that my photos are almost always very croppate....

nikon_afs200-500_f5-6vrNikon AF-S Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6 E ED VR

Pros: Versatility, weight, transportability, VR

Cons: Construction, Tropicalization

Opinion: I had this lens for several months, then I was stolen, but I have not regained it because I believed, and I think the Sigma 150-600 sports sharper even at the maximum length at full aperture. Which was also demonstrated in a site where they perform scientific tests. This site is the only one that I personally trust and that reflects what I could see on the field after trying and used different optics in the span of about 15 years..... The 200-500 does not reach the resolution of certain compatible optics such as the above mentioned Sigma. However I consider it a versatile and economical alternative, but I honestly do not know if I will regain it.

nikon_500d_f4_v2Nikon AF-S 500mm f/4 D ED II

Pros: Sharpness, weight (3,430g), AF lightning, maf 4,4m.

Cons: Availability, price.

Opinion: I noticed inconsistencies in the optical characteristics described above, in fact the weight of optics is equal to 3430g instead of 3800g, and also the minimum focus distance is 4,4m in MF, and 4.6m in AF instead 5m.rnPossiedo just this slow, and perhaps it is a bit 'too early to make a review, but for now I want to express my first impressions, and then, later, if we need more and more. Lens really hard to find, and I guess you know why. Despite his age, the resale value is still quite high, but completely justified as the quality of the optics. Actually it turns out to be the sharper of the later models that differ only in the VR. The only "against" is precisely the lack of VR which is not a problem, given that this is a view to be used mainly on tripods and dall'appostamento, but wanting & egravis; can also be used freehand .... rnto be continued ....

pentax_560mmPentax DA 560mm f/5.6 ED

Pros: Sharpness: it has no rivals. Weight, very light to be almost a 600mm (840mm on the DX). If you want, it can be used freehand.

Cons: Price, AF not quite up to par, but more than enough thanks to the limiters. Unbalanced handle with the machine body mounted, in fact you need a 120 mm plate to be able to balance it correctly on the tilting heads.

Opinion: Attention, the AF engine is integrated into the lens as opposed to what is written in the description above. I use both Nikon and Pentax and I can say that Pentax, as color yield and optical quality is on par or adirituttra higher in some cases. Too bad for the AF who have not yet reached Nikon's levels despite there have been improvements, besides the AF is not ultrasonic and therefore it is audible, but nevertheless I would not call it noisy at all. Of course, the pairing k5IIs -DA560 is the ultimate in sharpness, especially for the fuss of detail like the undersigned. I could compare it with the nikon 300 f2.8 VRII and the result is AMAZING if we neglect the AF. In any case, the DA560 is an optics to be used mainly from the stake for which the Af is more than sufficient. In short, this is an optics that also needs a bit of handle.... you have to know it and get used to managing situations accordingly. I would say that I am more than satisfied, at least as far as the optical resolution that is really unique, so much so that it allows you to crop without losing the detail, which dispenses it from using the multipliers that I generally prefer to avoid. As for the size, it is actually a bit bulky due to the reduced optical group, but moreover it is a 600mm, and a 600mm f4 is no less bulky than the DA560 which also weighs two kg less. The yield at TA is great, but like all optics, in my opinion it makes the maximum if held at about f/8, (if only for the obvious results obtained by a greater PDC etc). I want to add a note about chromatic abberrations, as there is always the fussy shift that must find the flaws even when there are no for those who know what reason. Anyway... I have seen abberrations in certain rare cases where the light was excessive and where whites bordered the burn, but beware, I speak of reading abberrations in light conditions not exactly ideal for any optics. Abberities easily eliminated in post production, problem that does not arise if you have a good "MANIC" and you know take the necessary tricks in progress. This optics has really given me a lot of satisfaction in terms of sharpness and colors being myself, as I said, a fussy detail. Let us remember that pentax has chosen to reduce the optical group to the advantage of the sharpness that I find unparalleled. I posted some photos cropped 100% just to understand us. In the photos I posted I deleted the abberrations only on one , where the top of the perch was burned by white and had formed that classic purple profile that I eliminated in PP. I remind you that the abberrations are present in all optics, who more, who less. A few years ago, on the forum of the pentaxians, I pointed out that an APO telescope, mounted in direct focus on a reflex, was able to give sharper photos than any telobitle for obvious reasons !!! But as usual, the skier on duty had discredited what I had written. Look at the case Pentax made the DA560 based on an optical diagram of a telescope! In essence it is nothing more than a telescope with the addition of an optical group for internal focus!

pentax_300Pentax SMC DA* 300mm f/4.0 ED (IF) SDM

Pros: Sharpness Spectacular

Cons: AF did not live

Opinion: How sharpness and risolvenza is fantastic. Surprisingly sharp even with the multiplier Kenko 1.5x SHQ .Dipende also from the fact that this lens is constituted by a group of only eight optical lenses. I realized even tweak some macro photos from a distance with this light combined with the multiplier mentioned above. It's really a shame that a lens has so crisp 's AF so slow and does not have the limiter, it would have been really fantastic and complete perspective. Unfortunately with the moltiplicaotre the AF becomes even more slow and unstable. Hopefully in the new multiplier estimates for 2013.rnVorrei add that the various tests that are in the network are not quite reliable because, I think that in terms of risolvenza / sharpness of the Pentax is sharper than their Nikon that I possess today.
