![]() | Canon EOS R6 Pros: Series 1 technology, thumb bezel, adapter control ring, incredible IBIS performance combined with IS Cons: Absurd Cost of RF Lenses Opinion: I bought the R6 because I was fed up with the autofocus of the 6D, and what can I say... another world! I am very happy with the purchase! So I focus on the things I like least: it's a little small in the hand, I preferred the size of the 6D; the weight, with the addition of adapters (I do not intend to switch from EF to RS for now) does not take advantage of the elimination of the mirror; the compact size does not leave room for too many keys nor for the upper display (let's say that overall I find the structure of the 7DII more comfortable, but it is much larger), a tutorial on the use of autofocus would be needed... That said, none of these considerations are really a flaw, and as long as you spend more in the R series there are models that solve even these small flaws. I am really satisfied with the purchase, although I must say that the prices of the entire R and RF series are really high, compared to the competition. I thought a lot about switching to Sony, but I didn't want to replace my optical fleet. sent on January 06, 2023 |
![]() | Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM Pros: Focal Range, optical quality, build quality Cons: Size Opinion: For me it is an exceptional optics, with a very useful focal range and an opening that allows to contain weight and price within tolerable limits even for an amateur. The Optical rendition is wonderful in virtually every condition, for my tastes combined with the 70-200 is a complete outfit. The Only flaw is the dimensions, similar to the competitors, but still important, that do not make it a "portable" optics. Of course compared to the brothers 2.8 remains a featherweight... sent on March 25, 2019 |
![]() | Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Pros: The best "handyman" in the Canon field (at least up to the series II...) Cons: Not excels at anything Opinion: I use it with 6d, it's a good lens but... it's a Master of nothing! Great construction, but... It is not particularly bright, it is not particularly sharp, the focal length, both wide-angle and tele-side, does not make it a suitable lens to be used alone, so I normally prefer the 16-35 along with the 70-200. Overall it's a good lens, but in the end I think I'll give it away, I hardly ever use it! sent on January 06, 2019 |
![]() | Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD Pros: Value for money, excellent stabilizer, focal range, weight Cons: Sharpness not always excellent, interlocking hood Opinion: I bought this lens in 2011, when it was in its kind perhaps the best on the market, and on 350D and 600D I was very pleased: autofocus fairly quick, excellent portability, great usability, no problem F/B focus. Paired with Sigma's 17-70 f 2.8-4 I was fully satisfied for many years. But passed to 6d and then to 70-200 F4L is, I realized that I switched to another world, so I understand the distance between a cheap lens and a pro. I would recommend it compared to all the same band, even Canon; It is certainly infinitely better than the 55-250 around, but I do not find it comparable with an L series. The real flaw, unfortunately present also in the last Tamron, is the hood with interlocking. By dint of using it, you wear the joint on the lens, and the hood becomes unstable, until it is unusable; The replacement of the hood is useless, because the worn part is on the lens, requiring intervention in service, unreasonable for economic reasons; The high-end Canon lenses in my possession do not present this problem. sent on May 26, 2018 |
