canon_eos_r3 Canon EOS R3

Pros: The car I've always dreamed of... from all points of view! The eye control wonder is the icing on a very tasty cake to be savored!!

Cons: Mine only since yesterday...

Opinion: I managed to buy it, an excellent used and I had the same feeling I had at my first shot I took with the 5D3, which accompanied me for over 640000 photographs! Now I come from 3 years of glorious use of the R6, but this beast is a whole different story!! I was immediately amazed by the eye control, really full of effectiveness and potential! A very quick glance and immediately you have to the point you are looking at, where you want the crux of the photo! Then some family portraits allowed me to be amazed even by the cleanliness of the files, even at 25000 iso "played"! I also love to use the flash in the right way, now it can be used in electronic shutters, up to 1/180s but also in high speed synchro mode! I foresee a very long life, thanks to the almost exclusive use of electronic shutter! The first impressions were dazzling and I dare not imagine what the R1 is! I also sensed enormous skills and potential in the video side as well! Ps I reserve further updates!

canon_rf24-105_f2-8z Canon RF 24-105mm f/2.8 L IS USM Z

Pros: All-rounder par excellence, of absolute quality and versatility!

Cons: Weight? Ni... Cost? Ni...

Opinion: Part 1 - I have only had this jewel for 3 days so I reserve the right to update this review in several steps. I come from the RF24-70 f2.8 and I know very well what I would have faced... This very first part of the review I summarize it in several "I thought that...": I thought it was heavy and it is, but the zoom ring positioned in the center helps a lot to support and bear its weight; I thought it was a blade in terms of sharpness, but I find the 24-70 to be of the same level. I thought it was expensive and it is, but as soon as you hold it in your hand you understand that it is a real rock and will be the fulcrum of your kit, for a very long time. Part 2 - After more than 2 weeks, I can say that it is absolutely a definitive lens! I also re-evaluated the sharpness, superior to the RF 24-70 f2.8 but above all, I am also starting to appreciate its excellent three-dimensionality!

canon_rf70-200_f2-8l Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM

Pros: Weight, Portability and Sensational Autofocus

Cons: Zoom rotation travel

Opinion: After years of using pretty much all the EF 70-200 f/2.8 versions (except the stabilized Mark III), I've been working with the new RF 70-200 f/2.8 IS for a couple of weeks now. I have already put it to the test in rhythmic gymnastics events and competitions, so I can give some concrete impressions. I start with what I was aware I had to accept: the non-compatibility with extenders. The only real limitation I found in use, however, is the zoom travel, a bit long. You get used to it, but it remains less immediate than the previous EFs. For the rest, the merits are truly remarkable, and many concern historical defects of the SLR versions: • Weight: the gain is enormous during a working day. The difference, at the end of the event, is very much felt. • Tripod/monopod collar: on the EF, the presence of the pins marked the ring and, over time, the rotations became less and less fluid, until the obligatory passage in assistance. Here, however, the rotation is not very fast but remains fluid, especially without pins that over time can loosen and ruin the mechanism. Autofocus chapter: very fast and very precise. I had no hesitation, even in less than ideal conditions. The minimum focusing distance of 0.70 m is also very appreciable, really useful for creative close-ups or to tighten up on details in competition. Sharpness: excellent but not exaggerated, well balanced. Bokeh: very good. Personally, I continue to prefer the "smooth" EF 70-200 f/2.8 one, which to my taste returns a slightly more three-dimensional image. But it's a question of character, not quality. For rhythmic gymnastics I deactivate the stabilizer (to avoid micro-delays in focusing on fast subjects), while in events I use it and I appreciated its great effectiveness.

canon_70-200_f2-8 Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L USM

Pros: Unbeatable value for money

Cons: Ring for monopod attachment

Opinion: I've had it for a few months and combined with the R6, it becomes a sniper for sport, in particular for rhythmic gymnastics. Excellent sharpness, but not excessive as I like it and excellent blur. The only flaw, but this of all or almost all the 70-200 f2.8 I had, is the outer ring on which the lens rotates in rapid changes of framing in sports photos. The very small screws that it touches are easily unscrewed. Next year the construction project turns 30 and is still holding its own!!

canon_24-70_f4is Canon EF 24-70mm f/4 L IS USM

Pros: Everything desirable, except 2.8!

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: Sharpness from center to edges, very fast autofocus, colors, light and excellently stabilized, excellent macro possibility. I think it is the clear example of excellent historicity and value for money of EF lenses, absolutely performing in mirrorless, in my case, in the R6. Fantastic value for money!

sigma_24-35_f2art Sigma 24-35mm f/2.0 DG HSM Art

Pros: Sharpness, colors, robustness, beautiful bokeh, last but not least the autofocus!! Ps. update after many more photos...

Cons: Not having had it before two days ago... Maybe it's the fact that the zoom ring rotates in the opposite direction for us canonists..., but it's a trifle!!

Opinion: A truly superb, wonderful lens! Really three fixed lenses in one! Sharpness really at the highest level and not annoying! It's sturdy and solid! It has a really creamy blur and makes every photo a 3D! Excellent auto focus that is enhanced with mirrorless cameras and makes it stand out!! There are those who say that it weighs too much, in my opinion it is the physical proof of how excellent this 24-35 is and how much substance there is!! It strengthened my thinking... Mirrorless lenses cost proportionally a heresy!! I think they can hardly reach this quality, with a much higher cost! If you are undecided, do one thing, buy it used on Amazon and at worst send it back, but I warn you, it will be a lot of love at first sight and at first shot!! Ps. update after many more photos... Apparently the focal range is little... Actually, there really is a world from 24 to 35mm!! It's an amazing lens that the more I use it, the more it excites me!!

canon_70-200_f4 Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0 L USM

Pros: Very high quality/price ratio - Colors - Blurred - Immediacy of speed autofocus - Lightness

Cons: Absolutely none

Opinion: All the Pros listed, found on R6!! Lens that does not suffer in the least the machine of modern generation, indeed, it is exalted in all respects! Cost absolutely ridiculous and affordable for everyone It's really like having a cashier's check, definitely resalable at the same price if not something more! We are talking about a truly timeless L series!!
