Pros: compact, 77mm filters

Cons: My copy was not sharp. Overpriced for the speed and features.

Opinion: I must have gotten a lemon. I could not get a sharp image out of mine. I could not even detect precise focus at 10x liveview, which is normally quite easy for the rest of my lenses. I returned it and bought the 24-70 f/2.8L II, which is outstanding. Enough other people are happy that I'm sure I just had a bad copy. In use, I did not find the macro setting useful because it was too close to light the subject.

Pros: Sharpness, robustness, smooth dials, stabilization

Cons: None

Opinion: After more than a month of use in all fields, I write my opinion. An underrated lens nowadays, it is actually an all-rounder of the highest quality that you will not miss a shot under any circumstances. At F4 it is very sharp, clean image, there are no distortions at 24mm or at the other focal lengths. Excellent blur, considering that an f4, detaches the subject well and the background is soft and pleasant. At f5.6 it obviously reaches the pinnacle for sharpness (quite sharp, not a Sigma Art, but really good). Responsive and fast autofocus, not too noisy. I used it on the beach, in the mountains, in the city, inside cathedrals and at night: in every circumstance I took home the shot without the need for a tripod. The stabilization is truly phenomenal for a professional lens designed twenty years ago. I use it on the R6 with adapter, everything perfect. I didn't give it a penny just because it wasn't f2.8 and it's a bit dated as a project, but you can see that it's designed for professionals and the quality is all there. You get it used for a few hundred euros and you have made a deal. NB: obviously if you have a lot of money it would be stupid not to choose the RF equivalent, but according to certain figures it must be justified by a particular use that in ninety percent of cases does not exist. This lens is the best and cheapest all-rounder there is!

Pros: Everything desirable, except 2.8!

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: Sharpness from center to edges, very fast autofocus, colors, light and excellently stabilized, excellent macro possibility. I think it is the clear example of excellent historicity and value for money of EF lenses, absolutely performing in mirrorless, in my case, in the R6. Fantastic value for money!

Pros: Sharpness, good stabilization, not particularly heavy

Cons: Nothing relevant

Opinion: I used the 24-105 f4 first series for a long time which had given me mixed results: excellent performance in the center, loss in the peripheral areas quite evident. When I gave the lens to my daughter, I was looking for a replacement and bought the 24-70 f4 used. It seems to me a good lens with image quality superior to the old 25-105 especially in the peripheral area (the sharpness in the center is similar). The IS seems to me to be more performing than the old lens. I found the lens hood easier to use than the 24-105. In general, I can give a positive opinion for this goal.

Pros: Sharp, compact, stabilized, macro function.

Cons: nobody

Opinion: Personally I think it is the best of its range. Sharp and compact, and also equipped with a convenient macro function. Spectacular even at f.4.Il focal range is the one that is used the most, so as to be able to take advantage of all the quality of the lens, being a short lens. In my opinion one of the most successful lenses of Canon.Versatile and well built, in fact it is tropicalized. It fully deserves the "red headband" of the "L" series.
