Pros: compact, 77mm filters

Cons: My copy was not sharp. Overpriced for the speed and features.

Opinion: I must have gotten a lemon. I could not get a sharp image out of mine. I could not even detect precise focus at 10x liveview, which is normally quite easy for the rest of my lenses. I returned it and bought the 24-70 f/2.8L II, which is outstanding. Enough other people are happy that I'm sure I just had a bad copy. In use, I did not find the macro setting useful because it was too close to light the subject.

Pros: Sharpening, stabilization, macro function

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: I purchased this lens at the end of January 2019 together with the Canon EOS 6D Mark II and it was the first "L" series lens to enter my kit. I chose it to have a good all-rounder and I used it with virtually every focal length and it never disappointed me: the sharpness of the photos has always been great and the macro function has also proved very good. A very good lens that I definitely recommend.

Pros: Sharpness, stabilizer, macro

Cons: Maybe the weight, but it's all in all contained

Opinion: I've been using this lens for a while. The constant opening F4 did not make me regret the 2.8, having now the stabilizer. I use it mainly for street photography and landscape photos (but I have to say that even in portraits it defends well). The stabilizer is a great help especially for landscapes, as far as the street is concerned it is a really comfortable lens as the focal excursion is very exploitable: I think the best of itself is just 35mm and 50mm. (Before I used two fixed, now with only one lens I do everything). Of course you have to forget the blur that can give a greater opening of diaphragm, but for what it is worth you find photos taken at 24mm, or 35mm, or 50mm that seem to come from a fixed. The distortion is quite small, so much so that sometimes I do not even correct it in the raw room. The autofocus is very precise and fast. The macro function is a plus especially for those who hike in the mountains and do not want to load the backpack with more goals. Flanked by a bright fixture, I believe that with this lens you can cover 90% of the photographic needs (reportage, street, portraits, landscapes).

Pros: Sharpness, construction, stabilizer, size, macro function, filter diameter 77.

Cons: Nothing at the moment.

Opinion: Purchased as a result of a 24-70 f2.8 SP tamron of VC g1, which, although a very good optics, often with the new machine bodies Canon needed microadjustments, with one body on the canvas side and with another on the wide side, which sometimes led to results inconsistent that pushed me to fall back on an original optics a little less luminous but amazing for the speed and precision of the AF and 4-stop stabilizer. The sharpness is at excellent levels and does not make me regret the previous optics that in this sector, when it was right the AF, was exceptional. as well as the construction from real L series and the beautiful saturated colors canon, if to this we add almost 300g less and more compact dimensions you will soon forget about the tammy with its sometimes traitor AF. Among the pros I entered the diameter filters from 77 that being a common diameter between the optics in my possession allows me to share the circular polarizer and other filters without problems. At the moment more than satisfied with the purchase.

Pros: Ergonomics, sharpness always and anyway, stabilizer, constant brightness, beautiful blurry to 70mm, beautiful colors Canon L, Utillima macro function.

Cons: I prefer the fixed optics, but this 24-70 is worth the compromise.

Opinion: As in life, I never liked the "perfettine". I have always loved the peculiar beauty instead. I find it more natural, truer. For example in comparing 50 to 1.2 and 50 ART, I would have no doubts as to what to buy. Despite these my preferences, I still bought a lens that I should theoretically loathe: EF 24-70 IS F4 L A zoom that I do not understand as a focal, a low brightness and beautiful sized (compared to my lenses), sharp always and anyway. Love is tripped. A little bit celebrated but in my opinion extraordinary.
