Oleander Sphinx sent on August 02, 2018 (20:30) by Lucchin Fabrizio. 25 comments, 1337 views. [retina]

, 1/6 f/13.0, ISO 320, tripod. Specie: Daphnis nerii

Excellent document, the point of recovery enhances very well the forms of the Sphinx.

Hello Pier, thank you for the nice compliment for this beautiful butterfly and for having appreciated this shot with a different point of view than usual. I wish you a good afternoon, Hello Fabrizio

Fabrizio you ruined me with this shot, I think I spend a few hours among the oleanders. to admire this little one with my own eyes and then try to do something as beautiful as this picture. Congratulations indeed.

Hello Peter, if you have oleanders always check if you see leaves eaten, in which case look for caterpillars that are green. This year, however, which is a strange year for the climatic conditions, I had no reports while last year a little year long these migrating butterflies laid eggs in our country.
If you find them you can put them in a butterfly canvas cage giving them fresh oleander leaves to eat and then putting inside a little house with coarse earth absolutely dry mixed with crumbled dry leaves where then, when it changes color and turns brown goes to bury and then rebirth butterfly after twenty days.
Good luck, hello Fabrizio.
