nikon_105_f2-5aisNikon 105mm f/2.5 Ai-S

Pros: Optical perfection from all points of view, vignetting and aberrations contained even at full aperture. Impressive sharpness even af/2.5, f / 4 a real blade across the frame. Fuzzy gradual and profound, always pleasant. Color rendering faithful a true observer unmoved. It 'great on all distances maf, but the best medium and long distance (to be precise, that short distance is still a monster). Focus smooth and precise if you have a good eye and a maybe a fullframe. Built-in hood. Small and light. Very low price in the used market.

Cons: Few and indeed are not even real "flaws" ..... It is only used. It 'a manual focus. Loses all automatic on entry level machines. The minimum maf is very short, Part 1 meter.

Opinion: I bought this lens attracted by its legendary reputation and I must say that from the first tests with my d700 I realized that this reputation was absolutely far more than deserved. Just think of the portrait of the Afghan girl of S. McCurry, perhaps one of the most famous photos and profitable in the world, that was just done with this lens. It 's definitely a lens timeless with emotions with every shot, the focal length makes it ideal for portraits designed for extreme close-ups (you do not have the perspective distortion that has a 85mm for example), but also and especially for the streetphotography landscape where I think everyone pulls out his claws giving color fidelity and sharpness of class, really microcontrastato! The blur is the best thing, is not the classic sfocatore crazy making scorched earth behind and in front of the point of focus, but instead gradually and then gives depth to the picture. In short, is a lens for very fine palates from this point of view. It 'a manual focus but the manual focus is that ofand the old ais nikkor, in short, a real pleasure, precise and fluid enough to make feel an almost physical pleasure! E 'a tank round glass and metal plus the gem has to have the built-in hood and removable unlike the version Ai that instead has it screw. I would say that I'm madly in love, and when I think it is the lens that cost me less absolute, well, I get a stupid grin on his face ...

nikon_50_f1-8gNikon AF-S 50mm f/1.8 G

Pros: Sharpest since f/1.8, bokeh very nice, very light, af fast and accurate ac contained in hood quick (and not screw finally)!

Cons: Difficult to find one, ah here .. has no aperture ring: P

Opinion: I had the 50mm 1.8 afd that shone risolvenza at RT. I got this because afs is much improved both the center and the edges .. diaframmando (from f/2.8 onwards ..) differences virtually disappear, so it is recommended the step only if you intend to use it at f/1.8 to f/2.8! Compared to 'f/1.4 is optically better (ac smaller and sharper at room temperature), the AF is faster and the lower price! The bokeh looks good at all .. Currently, the use of d700 and shines by fear, recommended!

nikon_70-300vrNikon AF-S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G ED VR

Pros: Lens 'agile' and lightweight, extremely sharp up to 200mm even at room temperature, inexpensive and good quality, good stabilizer that retrieves up to 4 stops (and not so to speak ..) Valdissimo even on full frame

Cons: Bokeh very nervous, the optical quality falls at the end of tour

Opinion: The 70-300 VR is a great zoom, relatively cheap and quality. E 'extremely resolvent 70mm up to 200mm and a little further .. after which slowly decreases and you need to stop diaframmarlo of 1 or more for quality. I've used it with D60, D90 and D700 and was found to be an excellent lens especially thanks to its VR partially fills that remains a dark lens. Recommended absolutely with a reserve on the yield of bokeh which is very nervous. It would be even better if it had a minimum distance of MAF shorter.

tamron_90macroTamron SP 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro

Pros: Value price, weight, color rendition and sharpness, supplied accessories

Cons: Virtually no one saw the price: barrel that extends f slow and imprecise (but so is focheggia hand), that focus on older individuals view the focal sometimes suffers ..

Opinion: I took this macro because I did not know if the macro would take me or not. The price and weight make it very undemanding. I'm learning a lot of things through this lens and would recommend it to anyone who wants to start taking pictures of this kind. The construction is good but not as massive as the nikkor but I'm sure that if treated well will last many years without showing sagging.

tokina_12-24_v2Tokina AT-X Pro 12-24mm f/4 DX II

Pros: I have the version DXII. Very low distortion from 14-15mm up and always easily corrected, fidelity and color rendering (almost identical to the Nikkor), sharpness (high even at f / 4, f/5.6 and up excellent even at the edges), like construction a tank!, very usable focal range, af fast enough and accurate value for very advantageous price.

Cons: flare (with highlights always present in the field and sometimes really annoying), ac always present (but still easily recoverable in post production), switch AF-MF

Opinion: I was looking for a wide angle with a focal range well exploited in various situations (close-up photos, seascape & landscape, reportage and street) that it did keep me attached without too many changes of perspective. Discarded the excellent 11-16 for this reason I dived on 12-24. I estimated also used nikkor 12-24 but in the end I decided to take the tokina again, even for low distortion and easily corregibile (not to wave as the nikkor or sigma 10-20). The yield of color (compared to my 24-120) is very similar and not known annoying dominant. The construction is fabulous ... nothing to say. Suffers from chromatic aberration (which are still in a normal wide) that are always able to fix with little effort .. I took the version DXII why it should be better than the first from the point of view of "flare", but the result is not as impressive .. So if this DXII suffer so much, I do not want to imagine what the first version: P Ps with a bit of commitment (shield with the hand, slightly change camera angle, etc. ..) the flare of the sun, however, can be well controlled! Therefore recommended according to the requirements.

nikon_24-120vr_f4Nikon AF-S 24-120mm f/4 G ED VR

Pros: Versatility, sharpness, and performance, very good stability, resistance to flare, ac relatively limited, af very precise and moderately fast, bokeh f4 to be a very pleasant drive.

Cons: Distortion (could it be otherwise on a 5x?). Vignetting at 24mm very marked and present at all focal species at room temperature (both are corrected in post anyway ..). Price (not exactly cheap ..)

Opinion: It 's my handyman! It 'sa high-quality optics that can give always great shots ranging from wide angle to medium telephoto. Great for reportage for example. The VR is awesome (retrieving 4stop seamlessly with the d700 .. maybe less with a sensor demanding ..), and can always be useful for example in situations where you prefer to be light without a tripod (viaggi..). The yield is very very good at any focal length, even at room temperature! species at the center .. diaphragm better if you want good edges and folds to increase generally the micro-across the frame. Perfect to 35mm at the level of distortion. It has a good focus for a f4, and nine blade rounded diaphragm helps a lot when you. It 'contrasted to perfection and always gives beautiful colors alive and vibrant. Quite resistant to flare .. So I recommend it to all those who can do without a zoom lens f/2.8, focal as you earn, you save money and is lighter. Not recommended for those who do not compromise ... but for what in my opinion are the only fixed and the fix! I've used both D700 and D90 now on I can say that on DX is just as good although not as "handyman" as on full frame: we exclude the edges that they sometimes lack f4 species cause vignetting!
