canon_6d_mark_iiCanon 6D Mark II

Pros: Automatic white balance, quality of files in general, high ISO sealing, battery life

Cons: In theory the dynamic range, in practice nothing

Opinion: Last year, on a special occasion, as a surprise, I was given this camera as a gift. I come from an 80d and until then I had only used APSC systems, so my judgment will certainly not be as precise as that of those who have tried other FFs and have a broader vision. Overall, in my opinion, nothing to say. The quality of the files is really good and the jump from the lower format is very noticeable. Excellent construction and excellent grip. To the touch it gives an excellent feeling of stability and sturdiness. The battery life is practically eternal, especially when used with the optical viewfinder. The high iso resistance for me is very good and sufficient to cover you in 90% of situations, even with lenses that are not excessively bright. The automatic white balance is almost never wrong. Some complain about the lack of dynamic range; Honestly, I too, especially doing landscape, at the beginning I was quite perplexed pulling up the shadows in high/medium contrast scenes, but after hitting my head several times I learned to "tame" it and honestly I didn't have any more problems. The fact that it doesn't forgive extreme recoveries doesn't mean it sucks as many people say. You simply need to know its limits and adjust accordingly to make the most of it. As far as the focus is concerned, it seemed precise to me, but photographing mainly static subjects I can't make specific judgments. In my case, however, I always felt good even in those few moving scenes that I photographed, so nothing to say. PS: To make the most of the potential of this camera body (and not only) I recommend converting Raw files with Canon's native software (DPP) instead of Camera Raw or Lightroom; You'll get colors and file quality unmatched by any other software and you'll make the most of your sensor's performance.

canon_2x_v2Canon EF 2.0x II

Pros: Multiply the focal length while maintaining unchanged automatisms and colors

Cons: Slight loss of sharpness at maximum aperture

Opinion: I bought this multiplier in view of my next trip to Kenya and for the moment it seems to be great. Using it on a 70 200 F4 Smooth I become a 140 400 F8. On FF it is not a big problem since you can safely raise the ISO. The situation is different for APSC systems. In that case I would disselglierei a priori, unless it is mounted on brighter lenses. From what little I could see I noticed a slight drop in sharpness at F8 (ie at maximum aperture) that tends to decrease from F10 upwards, becoming almost equivalent to the lens without multiplier. Both colors and automatisms remain 100% unchanged. Surely the third series will be superior, but it also costs twice as much. I recommend it for quality / price ratio to those like me who do not have particular professional needs for nature photography, or to those who use it mainly with closed apertures (eg landscape, architecture etc.)

canon_eos_m3Canon EOS M3

Pros: Image quality, compactness, ISO resistance, tilt screen

Cons: Lack of viewfinder, battery life

Opinion: Having practically only Canon lenses, I purchased this mirrorless to lighten the kit without the need to start from scratch with the lenses. Although it is already a few years old it is certainly a good machine, compact, ergonomic and performing, with an image quality that would envy many SLRs. To be an Aps-c it is also quite RESISTANT to ISOs, up to 3200 files can be used without problems, although it depends on the scene framed. It has a good dynamic range and the files are quite workable, although overall it tends to close the blacks a little. The AF is certainly not a splinter, but it is not as slow as everyone says, especially the touch one. Personally I have not encountered any problems in use, but, apparently, it is possible that in moving subjects some problems give it. The sore notes, in my opinion, are the lack of the viewfinder (but you already know at the time of purchase so I would not consider it a real defect) and the battery life. The lack of the viewfinder, in addition to a purely aesthetic fact, also influences the practicality of use of those who, like me, were used to using the REFLEX. The battery life, on the other hand, is really ridiculous, if you want to buy it know that at least 2/3 spare batteries you will always need. Overall, I think it's still a very good mirrorless, with its obvious limitations, but a little too underestimated by the crowd. When used correctly it can really give a lot of satisfaction. I recommend it especially to those who, like me, already have the Canon kit and would like to switch to ML without spending astronomical amounts. Considering the price of used for me it's a real bargain. I do not recommend it to those who have to start from scratch, in that case there is certainly better.
