Pros: Good overall image quality in relation to sensor, optical zoom, lightness, ergonomics, orientable display, battery life, numerous options.

Cons: High iso noise, not always precise focus, unhelpful viewfinder, lack of wi-fi, unintuitive menu.

Opinion: As a beginner I would like to make my judgment on hx350. I took it two years ago as the first camera with the intention of learning the first rudiments of photographic technique as well as to have fun, soon replaced (in the main use) with an eos 750d. I use it today to have a light camera and have fun with the long focal. The small compact sensor involves a rather marked noise at high iso as well as, in my opinion, colors rather faded in the presence of a lot of light, with the need to underexpose more, while in optimal conditions the colors are well defined and vivid: Overall the image quality is pretty good. In low light conditions, however, all the sensor limits emerge. The machine comes with all the shooting modes and numerous options (great for a beginner who wants to learn), remarkable optical zoom (1200 equivalent) and a viewfinder of not excellent quality. It is unfortunately without a wi-fi connection: the only way to transfer files to PC (or smartphone) is via usb. In summary it is great to learn and if you do not have quality claims.
