Pros: Semi Pro Body and Controls, ISO Holding, Dynamic Range, Very High File Quality, Dual Slot SD.

Cons: Screen not tilting (but not essential) and nothing else.

Opinion: After reviewing the small D3200 (my first digital love) and the D700 (the BESTIA), it is now time to review this great instrument, which I have been proud of for a while. Let's start by saying that I think it's a complete machine, it's all you want, and all you do is fine. Of course you have to have studied its potential well and equip it with series optics. The body is semi-professional, with limited weight, double lcd, double knobs and controls in the right place that, once fine adjustments are made through the menu, allow us to no longer access each time. The images that are returned are great, very workable RAW files, dynamic range and awesome shadow recovery, we're almost at FF levels. In short, the Sony sensor does its great job, even with regard to ISO sensitivity, one of the things that impressed me with this APS-C. I did some 3200 ISO shots in internal environments and the result is excellent, returning files with almost no noise. I'mSure you can still go up with the sensitivity, but I have not tried it because I like the beautiful, sharp images, and anyway if even the 3200 ISO were the maximum limit for a good result it would still be a great result for a DX format. The 51-point AF module seems to me very good, as does the ability to focus in low light conditions. Even in AF-C (which I often use as photographic hunting) I find it very intense, engaging the subject very well and always following it without losing it. Even the blast in CH seems to me very good. I miss the shutter noise, typical of the D300S & D700. Another thing I miss (which seems to be a bit more functional than most) is the tilting screen, like on the D750, Sony a7 rII, and others ... in landscaping would often be very useful. I conclude with giving a good 9 votes to this beautiful car that, unlike the D750 that I feel like equating in FF format, is quite successful.

Pros: Body and controls PRO, reliability, quality and workability of RAW, AF module and speed.

Cons: Prehistoric Live View, weight, few Mpx for someone (for me a bonus).

Opinion: I bought this fantastic car in October 2016, from Nital origin, used with just under 40,000 shots, in excellent condition and equipped with MB-D15 Battery Pack at a great price of 750 €. The body is true PRO, in magnesium and completely tropicalized. Its "only" 12Mpx can be for some even if compared to the 24Mpx of a car today, but I can assure you that it produces impressive RAWs, not too heavy and workable with excellent information content. Very good ISO holding up to 3200/4000 (threshold beyond which I prefer not to push me because I like to have very clean files). Usable up to 5000 ISO. I've also tried to snap to 6400 ISO, but the files are far from being tossed, but there is a need to be a bit of post-production to work the right thing and break down the noise. Personally, I have never felt needing to push me to such high sensitivity levels. True PRO controls. When you use it you have the impression of having itAnd in the hands of a true professional car, with all its commands in the right place, certainly the weight is felt especially if equipped with BG and important optics. I personally use it with Nikon 50 f / 1.8 G, Samyang 14 f / 2.8, Nikon 24-120 f / 4 G ED VR and Tamron 150-600. After several months of use I find myself extremely happy, I would not change it with a D750 that I have tried more than once but never gave me that feeling I got right from the D700. Maybe the jump would be to do with the D810. Also utilized for birdlife and thanks to its 51 fast and effective AF module, combined with the important burst, makes it an excellent battle machine as well. I consider it a real milestone of professional photography of the last decade when Mamma Nikon was able to give the most demanding professional photographer a complete and reliable machine. Now that there's still a lot of different under 50k shots and in good conditions, it would not be a nice specimen to run away.

Pros: Small size and weight, great sensor, easy to start, but not only.

Cons: Lack of double ring, need to enter each time through the menu to activate / deactivate functions, 800 iso limit (if you want to have quality images), no exposure compensation, reduced AF module of 11 points and shutter speed .

Opinion: I have this little Nikon for nearly 4 years. It was my first Digital Reflex. Acquired in the Kit with the classic 18-55 VR II, I started moving the first steps in digital photography, coupled with an ever-growing mastery of post production. I immediately felt the need to match an optician worthy of the name, replacing the classic plastic. Initially I replaced the 18-55 with the good Sigma 17-70 C f / 2.8-4 (really a good lens), then I joined him with the amazing Tokina 11-16 f / 2.8 DX II and a Tamron SP 70-300 VC USD. In a relatively short time I found myself with a good kit that covered me from 11 mm to 300 mm. The small D3200 has always been a faithful traveling companion, never abandoned me and has always given me so much satisfaction. It has a very good sensor in my opinion, coupled with quality optics, gives excellent images, making it easy to work on RAW. Passion then with time has grown and with it also the desire to have something more tender. The only negative aspects of my little bit (but we're still talking about a Entry Level) are: lack of double ring, need to enter each time through the menu to enable / disable functions, limit to 800 iso (if you want Have quality images), exposure compensation shortage, reduced AF module of only 11 points and shutter speed. For the rest nothing to say, really a great machine with which to practice and get good results as well. Now I also have the D300S / D700 (phenomenal coupled) and the D7200, so the small D3200 is now in disuse, but it will be very difficult to free it.
