Pros: Solidity, construction, good price/performance ratio, fair definition

Cons: Focusing accuracy.

Opinion: I own the version with native nikon Z mount. I bought it mainly to experiment. Beautiful backlight with very closed F, with flare, sought-after, nice defined. The sore point is the focus: The lens is totally manual, having no chip inside, and not even the camera's focus assistant works, as there is no exchange of metadata. At F-wide enough it is not a problem, but as you open the aperture, it becomes more and more difficult. The ring does not give reference points, you have to go by trial and error.

nikon_z24-70_f4sNikon Z 24-70mm f/4 S

Pros: Weight, sharpness, size

Cons: Lock lock mechanism

Opinion: I had originally avoided kitting it, with the Z6/Z7-II, because I thought it was the classic "kit" lens, but after reading a lot of positive reviews, I decided to pick it up in a trusted store selling one of a kit. Purchase that left me very satisfied. The sharpness, on the Z7-II is impeccable throughout the focal excursion, so much so that I often use it also as a "portrait" lens. The Bayonet Z probably has a lot of impact, so much so that I convince myself to renew the entire kit.

nikon_z7iiNikon Z7 II

Pros: Resolution, EVF, Weight and footprint, Bayonet Z, weight

Cons: Price, double slot with two different formats, sharpness issues with "cheap" F-Mount lenses

Opinion: Taken in December to replace the Z6 first series (taking advantage of Nital's supervaluation), I was pleasantly satisfied. All the improvements they have made are "under the hood" but you can perceive all of them. Starting from the new AI for Autofocus, finally at the height of a product of this range. Of course the sensor so "dense" made me set aside some F-mount optics that I used with dignity on the D610 and Z6, but if the premises for the new bayonet are those of the Nikkor 24-70 f/4, we are faced with a really fantastic pairing both for sharpness and speed of autofocus. Being a mirrorless there are some things that purists of (D)SLR will find difficult to digest (on all Autofocus assisted by AI which, even giving up eye tracking and other advanced features has a more complex behavior to interpret), but undoubtedly it is an important technological leap in some ways comparable to the transition from film to digital. And the difference in weight is felt, not only in the Suitcase.

tamron_35-150vcTamron 35-150mm f/2.8-4 Di VC OSD

Pros: Versatility. Sharpness.

Cons: f/2.8 only for the 35mm focal.

Opinion: I start by saying that the biggest disappointment is that the opening of f/2.8 is kept only at the minimum focal point. Already at 50mm it's an f/3.2. It may seem like wanting to look for the fur in the egg in a "difficult" perspective already just for its focal excursion, but, at least on paper, it seems to me a great flaw. For the rest it is really an all-rounder goal, both on Nikon D610 and on Z6 (with FTZ ring). It meets my requirement to be able to bring me, when I travel, only one lens (actually two, because I always carry the Tokina 16/28). After about a month of use, I am basically satisfied with the purchase. As for the focal excursion, it gives its best between 50mm and 105mm, which makes it quite versatile even for portraits, as long as you do not want to overdo it with the blurry effect, which is more than enough, considering the opening offered. I have not noticed excessive vignette or distortion phenomena, as you might expect from such a lens, at least nothing unrecoverable (with Lightroom). At the minimum excursion (35mm), it seems to me to lose a bit of detail at high ISO (but I have to check better, having not been able to try it in depth), while at 135 mm in not ideal lighting conditions, the Z6 seems to struggle a bit with the autofocus (both in terms of yield and timing), but it may depend on the settings chosen.

nikon_d610Nikon D610

Pros: FX sensor, Dual SD slot, Artificial horizon

Cons: Limitations to some PRO functions, noise at medium high ISO, AF not always at height. Price.

Opinion: I bought it in 2016 to go to the FX format (I came from very good Nikon D90). rnrnIndoubtedly, the jump in quality was sensible, especially as regards the response of the exposure meter to the adjustments (larger sensor, more accurate ISO sensitivity in the 100-400 range). But for some things it gives the idea of ??a deliberately castrated device compared to the older sisters of the same "family" (D750 / D810). On all AF management and the yield to ISO 800-1600 that does not seem to decrease proportionally, as it happens in the range 100-400.rnrnFor the rest I was particularly satisfied, combined with sufficiently bright optics (f / 2.8). rnrnVery good for travel photography, good results also in the studio. It is not very suitable for events in low light conditions (eg concerts) for the above problems over a certain ISO value. The double slot on more than one occasion saved me, not so much for the extended capacity (use SD 64 / 128GB), how muchbecause of the fact that often I forget to put back the extracted memory to download the photos on PC.rnrnrn
