![]() | Sony FE 24mm f/1.4 GM Pros: Construction, weight, materials, feeling Cons: Edge distortion with nearby subjects Opinion: Taken with cashback together with the 135 1.8, after two years of use I can confirm that the 24 is a lens without any particular defect. Excellent already at TA, sharp and correct throughout the frame, apart from the obvious distortion at the edges if you get too close to the off-center subjects. You need a maniacal precision on the inclination of the camera, because with that focal length, just move a little up or down and everything goes to ball. He's pretty much my handyman, I take 70% of the images with 24 at every event. I wait to be able to afford the 35 to tighten the field of vision a little and overcome the lateral distortions, inevitable with this length. sent on March 12, 2023 |
![]() | Zeiss Batis 85mm f/1.8 Pros: Construction, oled screen for hyperfocal, weight, size, blurred Cons: Uncomfortable hood, af with little light Opinion: Taken at a price used to replace the Sony 85 1.8 FE, which however is a slow lady, considered cost and size. Here we are more or less on the same size and weight, with in addition the stabilization and blurred/colors from Zeiss. Pure portraitist, without reaching the perfection of the Gmaster 1.4 (which has its flaws), perfect as long as there is light, then the AF barella and not a little. I love the OLED screen with the hyperfocal calculated in real time, which never hurts. The hood is aesthetically beautiful but uncomfortable to mount and to keep grafted on the contrary, which is no small thing. Do I recommend it instead of Sony? Undoubtedly! Waiting to see how the 85 1.2 Gmaster will be and hoping that they put their hand back to the 1.4 because the AF engine of that lens is a joke sent on January 17, 2023 |
![]() | Sony FE 135mm f/1.8 GM Pros: Extreme sharpness already from 1.8, absence of aberrations and flares, blurred Cons: Weight, price, front lens dimensions Opinion: I have had the 135 1.8 for a year and a half now. After doing two seasons of weddings, I started to think that maybe it would be better to centellinarlo, and make it available to customers only with a surcharge in the photo shoot. It is not possible to give up images taken with this lens without being charged more! Seriously, the extreme quality on the whole frame even at TA, excellent sharpness and microcontrast, personality to sell, pictorial blurry. I don't know what flaws it has, apart from the weight. There is also a fire limiter, to make the best use of it in all circumstances. For me the absolute top for portrait, waiting for the 85 1.2 ... The front lens, however, is really subject to dangerous shocks, it must be protected with a UV filter or at least always keeping the hood mounted. sent on June 29, 2022 |
![]() | TTArtisan 11mm f/2.8 Fisheye Pros: Sharpness, image quality throughout the frame, relatively small aberrations. Cons: Weight, delicate and scratch-prone cap, decliccata bezel only Opinion: Taken directly on Aliexpress, it was a bet as there were no reviews in Italian, I was convinced by the ratings I found on Youtube. The optics are pesantuccia, all in metal, it remains very cold to the touch precisely because of the metal finish. The cap is also made of metal, it scratches easily. I have the Sony version. The frame is sharp already at TA, albeit with the obvious edge limitations given by the lens format. Flares and aberrations present, but absolutely contained compared to the great breadth of the field. The diaphragm ring is designed for video (mine is different from the one used for the image of the review), has a relatively pronounced dentition, without getting to the extremes of video optics but certainly designed for use with follow-focus automatisms. The mark for alignment with the bayonet is only on the metal back and not also on the side of the lens, forcing you to pay more attention when grafting. The value for money is exceptional, in my opinion one of the best fisheye attack E native. If you are passionate about this type of optics, I recommend it dispassionately! sent on November 20, 2021 |
