Sigma 10-18mm f/2.8 DC DN C Pros: I weigh the quality on aps-c and in my opinion a low price. Cons: I would say that over f10 drops badly in quality, but if you know you avoid it. Opinion: I would say it was a surprise this lens with its unexpected quality. I would say it was one of the components I tested for the new March article on Photographers. Switching from a medium format to an aps-c was not easy, but in the end you get used to it if it is the only system you use. I've tested several lenses, but here we're really on another level of quality at an affordable price. And if you're skilled in post-production, no one will notice that you've shot with an aps-c, especially if the images are posted online at 1920 pixels, where they look great. As always, the colors are rather flat and the contrasts don't shine, but this is only true if you don't work on the negative in camera raw. For me, this is an exceptional lens, free of defects and capable of offering extraordinary quality. sent on 02 Marzo 2026 |

Fujifilm GFX100RF Pros: Very cool. The exceptional battery tested for 2 days in sub-zero temperatures. The bezel was a touch of class and practicality. Cons: The sore point I find that the lens lacks a thread of detail and sharpness, which would make it superb. An adequate app with iso times and everything you need to be on par with other machines. Opinion: I have been using the camera for over two months, mainly to write an article about photographers for the month of January. Personally, I don't consider it suitable for street photography; I see it rather as an excellent choice for landscapes. I imagine it perfect to slip into your backpack for a mountain hike, accompanied by a light tripod, ready to capture sunsets from the summit. The quality is indisputable: you can go beyond ISO 2500 without fear of noise problems. With precise tracking, you can get incredible detail in the deep sky, although I think the lens could be improved to make the most of the sensor. The files are light and faster to open than those of the Sony A7R5; they almost seem smaller, but when you zoom in on the RAW, the quality of the information is much higher. If I had the chance, I would buy it, because I have to admit that I really enjoyed using it. For all those who are undecided and would like to see a raw write to me privately and I will be happy to provide you with the material. sent on 27 Febbraio 2026 |

Sigma 135mm f/1.4 DG Art Pros: Lens quality. Cons: I weigh it, but then you get the hang of it. The diameter does not allow normal filters. Opinion: I had the opportunity to use it for a month to write a review for my newspaper. Initially, the lens feels huge and heavy, but after a while of use you get used to it and I can assure you that that weight often leads you to think more about the shots. In portraits, it is not just a lens, but a real scalpel: misfocusing can happen in an instant. If you work at close range, it may happen that one eye is in focus and the other is not. The definition is exceptional and the sharp blur at f1.4 is simply gorgeous. As for landscape photography, I notice that the lens offers its best performance in terms of sharpness at f5.6, while for more marked details you move between f5.6 and f8. I have to say that my Sony a7r5 seems almost a bit inadequate, because I think the lens still has a lot to offer in terms of detail. It's definitely one of those lenses that you'll want to buy once you try them, as its quality really is some of the best in its class. sent on 27 Febbraio 2026 |

Sony FE 16mm f/1.8 G Pros: Sharpness , Small , finally you use screw or magnetic filters almost pocket-sized. Cons: Price. Opinion: Before proceeding with this purchase, I wondered if it could be useful, considering that I already own a 12-24 GM. I can say that 16mm is perfect for landscapes, allowing you to crop if needed, thanks to the 60MP in my R5. This lens is amazing for its sharpness and the detail it captures. The quality is higher, especially when shooting at f/2.8 or f/4 compared to the 12-24 GM. Also, the advantage of being lightweight and being able to use screw or magnetic filters is something I really appreciate in my photos. Sharpness and detail remain good even below f/2.8, although you do notice some vignetting, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes easy. I often use it for night shots with a tracker, but also for stacking multiple shots at f/1.8, and it performs really well much better in the edges for the stars of the 12 24 GM Of course, it can never replace my 12-24 GM, but it will often help me to reduce the weight, since 400 grams less are felt, especially when walking over 20 km with your backpack. In short, it certainly has a cost, but in its category it is unrivaled and offers much higher performance than the Sony 20mm. sent on 16 Luglio 2025 |

Sigma 50mm f/2 DG DN C Pros: Small sharp handling Cons: I could say that the maximum sharpness is achieved at F5.6 Opinion: With my outings I often get wet, so I needed a lens that was water resistant, compact and lightweight. I would have liked the Voigtlander but its features were not suitable for me. I must say that its maximum sharpness is reached at F5.6 small, with many details visible on the stars and in the galaxy. The color rendering is incredible considering the price it has, it's fantastic. Almost all of these Sigma F2 lenses behave in the same way, without losing details. This review of mine is the result of 4 months of use in different climatic conditions. sent on 31 Agosto 2023 |

Gitzo Traveler GT1555T Pros: Compact, stability and the usual quality at the top of Gitzo Cons: Don't have it. Opinion: With this we are at the second Gitzo, a quality investment without compromise. My need was to have a small and low weight to keep inside my mountain backpack for day-to-day outings. The mountain test passed well by loading a polar head and a tracker, on a muddy ground, with many micro vibrations. Egregious hold with a fantastic carbon shock. The second test was on the Venetian wooden bridges where as people pass everything moves. With a long exposure, but a load over Sigma 70 200 sports and the Nikon D850, once again proved to be at the top. For those like me who use it 3-4 times a week it is essential to have a product of quality and durability. sent on 26 Giugno 2020 |

Voigtlander SL II 20mm f/3.5 Color Skopar Pros: Weight and a top character. Cons: The stars at night. Opinion: Taken used at an almost gift price. A lens of a time with its character, but if used well gives you unique shots. Taken to have a lens in addition to my endowment, but with low weight. The disappointment both in the manual multi-exposure and at night are the stars with an identical behavior to the older sister the 40 mm. Comparing it with my Sigma 20 art remains a step below in sharpness and detail, but negligible for the personal character of its yield. sent on 06 Giugno 2020 |

Voigtlander SL-II Ultron 40mm f/2.0 Pros: Weight, lens quality Cons: He misses the star the beautiful one like the older brothers. Opinion: Lens that I find wonderful for a negligible weight. I use it on Nikon D850 in my photo laps, ideal when you do days in the mountains limiting weights. For me, having a lens like this has cut the weight of the backpack. That said, let's talk about the quality of the lens. The lens remains a step below my Sigma lenses as sharpness and detail, but finding the strengths with an e F9 -11 and with a curated post we are on par. The worst part of this lens is in the nocturnal with the stars, where they present a swipe or tail those bright ones, putting in difficulty then in the development in the post. In the night technique of the Multi manual exposure from a spectacular rendering of colors with a character of the top lens. Also at night it is precisely in the MEMMB the stars of the lights are flattened and dampened, a prerogative of the Voigtlander lenses of recent years. But I find that lenses so when used well in landscape as sunrises and sunsets with or without filters, give a unique chromatic rendering with a particular expression. sent on 06 Giugno 2020 |

Gitzo Mountaineer GT 3542 L Pros: Stability of fear Cons: Price not for all pockets. Opinion: I can only be positive about a product that I find the best in its field. I use it exclusively in Venice where it perfectly absorbs the vibrations due to the passage of people on the bridges of metal or wood. I almost always have it used by private course students, so they understand what stability is. When there are strong gusts of wind, he does not move attenuates the micro vibrations, giving you the opportunity to always take home the shot. sent on 21 Aprile 2020 |

Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sport Pros: Sharpness Construction Bracket Interchangeable Focus button. Cons: Thread too long for filters. Opinion: I think it's a slow delay for the market. I took it directly from Sigma and calibrated it from the AD Service center on my Nikon D850 machine. Calibration in manual form and in digital form, with the new machine, for these objectives so there are no mistakes as often happens with the Dock usb. The speed of focus varies with varying in light, I can only say that it is almost perfect. Lens that reflects almost fixed quality like my fantastic 85 or 105 art, both as cutting and blurring, detail and sharpness the same, if not with a top wire on f11 work. The maximum sharpness and between 5.6 and 9 with a better quality of 5-9 % than the acclaimed Tamron 70 200 G2, the detail if even little is exceeded. It behaves perfectly with the multiplier 1401 while for 2001 it becomes slow and wrong fire, but we always talk about light situations like blue time. Let's see when it comes to Sony sent on 21 Aprile 2020 |
