Pros: Great build quality. Feature packed and adjustable on the Sigma dock. Excellent color rendition, bokeh and tack sharp! Very fast AF and works seemlessly with Sigma 1401tc. I can see no loss of sharpness and hardly loss of AF speed with TC connected. I love my Sigma 500mm F4 Sport but the 70-200mm F2.8 is maybe the best Sigma lens(of many) I have owned.

Cons: Possiblty weight but only for those who shoot for many hours hand held doing something like portrait/wedding photography.

Opinion: No complaints. Great lens! Build quality seems to be bullet proof. Price is very competative compared to Nikon/Canon equivalent. The latest Tamron 70-200mm F2.8 is also very good but the Sigma is highly recommended especially if you have already invested in Sigma systems such as the dock or teleconverters. In Australia if you register directly with the importer there is a 2 year warranty.

Pros: Sharpness, lightning-fast AF, 2.8, Bokeh, stabilizer, construction, hood, customizable/upgradeable, quality/price

Cons: None I couldn't find any.

Opinion: I bought this lens last year and I can only talk about it well as it is often mounted on the camera body. I own a Nikon d500 and combined with this body it balances perfectly, so much so that the weight is more than bearable freehand. Solid and well made construction. As a pair of autofocus I can say that it is infallible, both at small and maximum distances it does not miss a shot, it also has a very precise and fluid manual maf. It can be used at full aperture while maintaining high sharpness, although sometimes, depending on the light, it may seem softer. I don't find it a fault because it still maintains detail. Creamy and spectacular bokeh. Efficient stabilizer you can shoot at 1/80sec freehand without shake. It is upgradeable and customizable via dock. What can I say is fantastic in every respect, although initially I took it to make us dog sport, now I find myself using it often for portraits. Can also be used for astrophotography, even at 2.8, if you have a tracker / mount. Taken new from the store after comparing it, trying, with the Sigma model prior to this and the Nikon vr2, and in the end I chose this one because I considered it superior to both in everything. My model did not need af calibration, immediately perfect at all focal lengths and apertures. If I really have to find a hair in the egg is the bracket slightly short when you bring it by hand lowered. The stra advice for those who have not yet switched to mirrorless, given the excellent quality / price ratio, is a lens to have in your SLR kit. Vote 10

Pros: Value for money, MF speed, sharpness.

Cons: Loses if you shoot subjects at a distance, unusable with teleconverter.

Opinion: I bought this canvas in May 2022 used but in like new condition (about 50ina of shots), and in recent months I have used it several times to shoot at motorsport events on the track. After a short period necessary to take the hand, I consider myself really satisfied with the purchase! The tele is bright, of excellent workmanship and with a really fast focus, very comfortable your configurable keys (upon purchase of the USB base not included). The tele is not excessively heavy or bulky, the only real problem I found in conjunction with the teleconverter Sigma TC-2001, beyond the low-light photographs (which I was aware of before buying the TC) the focus goes into crisis 8 times out of 10 making the TC useless. For the record, I do not have other Sigma lenses so at this moment it is difficult for me to understand if the problem is the CT or the tele. Ultimately I am happy with the purchase, I recommend it to anyone who wants a well-made canvas, always ready to use and bright but who does not want to spend more than 1500 euros.

Pros: Value for money, sharpness.

Cons: For now none

Opinion: Bought used, replacing the Nikon 70-200 Vr1, from the Self-timer Store in Pontedera I realize that the quality is bordering on the ridiculous. I send it for a check to an independent laboratory thinking I have to calibrate it but it is affected by problems of focus and strong astigmatism so I contact the seller Self-timer who refuses to give me the refund having passed according to him 14 days from receipt of the same and invites me to send it to AD Service. Leaving aside the dishonesty of the seller that I strongly advise against for purchases, the goal, after a round trip to Japan, is now incisive already at full opening with a pleasant and beautiful blur. Precise and silent focus and effective stabilizer. However, my specimen was replaced entirely by the barrel and the hsm engine and calibrated on my camera body. The weight is not felt and is certainly an indication of quality.

Pros: Construction, quality, price

Cons: Released too late and for SLR, he loses with subjects at a distance.

Opinion: Late review, just to dust off one of the many Sigma lenses unjustly ended up in oblivion at Sigma. Excellent when used at "short" distances as full-length portraits. It loses with subjects at a distance, both for blurry and sharpness. Classic lens for ceremonies or events, the name Sport is misleading. It could certainly be improved in dg dn version but Sigma is committed to making 30 fixed lenses to cover from 20 to 65mm and then is linked by the agricultural consortium L mount where Panasonic has two 70-200mm that cost a bang and sells 2 in Australia, 3 in Europe and one in Costa Rica. How could Sigma do with a 70-200mm DG DN f2.8 that costs less than Pana's f4 and is higher than the 2.8? Released late when there was now the transition from Reflex to ML, sold few and few are found in the used while maintaining high prices. Recommended for those who have top-of-the-range SLRs if used in the areas described above.
