![]() | Samyang 135mm f/2 ED UMC Pros: Excellent sharpness, astrophotographic performance, excellent construction, smooth and precise manual focus Cons: The caps, especially the back one, are quite poor. Opinion: I bought this lens almost exclusively for astrophotography, as it is recommended by many people for its quality under the starry skies. I can only confirm the various positive opinions about it. It enjoys excellent sharpness, as well as a very good quality construction. Its generous maximum aperture makes it a high-performance lens in the field of astrophotography of large portions of the sky. It is also easily transportable even in less accessible places, unlike a telescope which by nature is obviously more bulky. Its short focal length compared to a telescope makes it superfluous to the use of autoguiding. I would also recommend it for naturalistic or portrait use, as long as you accept manual focusing (moreover operated by a very fluid precise ring) The only drawback to point out: the caps, especially the rear one, are of a quality not up to the optics. sent on December 02, 2023 |
![]() | Nikon Df Pros: Beautiful aesthetics - manual rings - sensor - image quality - excellent construction Cons: Not excellent autofocus - viewfinder derived from the D610 Opinion: The Nikon Df is a very particular FF SLR, it prefers photography thought, calmly and carefully, without haste. It takes longer to set the parameters, due to the manual, delicate, solid metal bezels. It will come out of your closet on fewer occasions than other camera bodies, remaining more reserved and protected. In short, it is not the SLR to use every day, according to my point of view. It is that camera body designed to be used on special and special occasions. This is why mother Nikon has castrated her in some respects compared to other bodies. In fact, the autofocus and the viewfinder are those derived from the Nikon D610, not really a lightning bolt of war as regards the speed of action in the shot. But these are the only (and justified) downsides, if we have to call them that. For the rest, well, it is a small Japanese jewel. The aesthetics are sublime, you would stay to admire it for hours. Every detail is taken care of and the metal rings that make the shot slower, are a real pleasure for the eyes. Each parameter has a dedicated one. A real blast from the past but with modern technologies! The image quality, needless to say, is very high. The Df has in fact the same sensor as the Nikon D4 16 mpx, which are not many, but in my opinion they are the right compromise, as well as guaranteeing excellent high ISO performance. In conclusion, I would recommend this SLR to those who have the pleasure of shooting as this camera requires, and to those who want to try to hold an old-school camera in their hands, always remaining firmly in the present. sent on January 07, 2023 |

![]() | GoPro Hero10 Black Pros: Video quality - audio quality - build quality - front and rear display - integrated media connection Cons: Poor battery life - slight tendency to heat up Opinion: I started the Gopro adventure back in 2014 with the entry level HERO (base). After so many years I decided to do the update with the latest arrival... and I'm happy about it. Gopro in the action camera industry is still the best, and this HERO 10 is proof of that. Excellent build quality, all in rubber and metal, a real pleasure to hold it in your hand. The impression is that of having in hand a small object but rich in technology, the latest, in the field of action cameras. And in fact the video skills confirm it, crazy resolutions and frame rates (which to be honest I will never exploit ...), but already recording in 2.7K at 60 fps is a pleasure. Obviously, you also need to have fairly high-performance PCs. Since it is not mandatory to insert it in a watertight case, the audio is greatly improved compared to its ancestors... the front display I liked, the recording parameters are immediately noticeable at a glance. The rear one has a touch screen with a much better sensitivity even to the previous HERO 9! If you like to indulge yourself with shooting, at your disposal there are many accessories (the originals are expensive, but of impeccable quality) Defects: the battery does not last long, if you use the camera intensively it is mandatory to purchase 1/2 respect batteries. I also noticed that it tends to warm up slightly, especially after long shoots. On one occasion I noticed that the software had crashed, probably because the firmware needed to be updated. A tip: equip yourself with very capacious and performing micro SD, it absolutely needs it (better from 128 gb up ...) sent on July 11, 2022 |
![]() | Nikon D300s Pros: Professional, robust, controls in the right place, burst, reliability, autofocus sensor, sensor (at ISO content), dual memory slots. Cons: Noise at high ISO (from 1000 onwards), limited buffer, a few hot pixels. Opinion: What can I say, a car that still does its dirty work and great, I use it especially for sports photos, where it gives the best. The body is a tank, robust and professional, with the keys where you would like them. The burst is sufficient even if the buffer is a bit limited. The sensor, at ISO content churns out excellent files, without exaggerating with crop in post-production (12 mpx are sufficient but not too much). At high ISOs, let's say from 1000 upwards, the noise begins to be seen, there is a need to apply a little NR. The autofocus is fast, great for dynamic photos. My specimen suffers a bit of hot pixels, which disappear during post production, but which are actually there. sent on October 23, 2021 |
![]() | Nikon D3100 Pros: Small and versatile, performing with good optics, generous, sincere battery, excellent as an entry level body. Cons: High ISO noise, unresolute monitor, not always reliable autofocus, lack of shooting information with retro optics. Opinion: It was my first reflex and with her I did a lot of school and really many shots. He accompanied me in all photographic genres, even under the stars and the Milky Way. And he did it with dignity. By pairing it with decent lenses, you get considerable satisfaction, especially with fixed optics. The high-ISO sensor produces enough noise, while autofocus is deficient in certain situations, but you can forgive it. Using it with older lenses, unfortunately you do not have all the shooting information available, which is present in the most advanced models. It is small, light, and allows itself to be carried very well, moreover the battery lasts very long ensuring a high number of shots. I recommend it to all those who approach this world for the first time, moreover now in second-hand they are at very modest prices! sent on June 16, 2021 |
