Pros: Robustness, tropicalization safe from everything, professional, excellent sensor and AF, remarkable files, controls at your fingertips. Very long-lasting machine. It is the completion of the D300.
Cons: Nothing and nothing, except the fact that they don't do it anymore. As for videos, if I want to do them, I buy the camera.
Opinion: I had the D500 for 9 years, and when I tried the D300 and 300s I sold it to get them both moreover at really ridiculous prices, perfect bodies at about 8000 shots each. Many will say that it is madness, but no, it was a targeted and well-thought-out choice: these are 2 dated cameras, but professional and always current: when you pick them up and use them you understand that they have everything to make you fall in love, they are solid, powerful cameras, for those who really love photography, I have been photographing since 1979, and I have had from F2, to FM2, FE2, FA, and so on. The D500 is a remarkable and technically very advanced body and has a thousand cutting-edge features, including 20.9 megapixels, but these two cameras give a feeling of robustness and simplicity that the D500 has never given me. The 12.3 megapixels are more than enough even to make fabulous enlargements, and the famous noise at high ISO up to 1600 by setting the noise control to NORMAL and sharpness 7-8, is not perceived and is identical to the D500, which over 1600 has the same problems as the D300 and D300s. These two cameras (D300 and D300s) are cameras for those who want to take real photography without running after megapixels, and all the devilry that they submit to us such as the iso at 51,200 completely unusable, I remind you that we took splendid photographs with the FE2, FM2, which did not have autofocus and only the average exposure with a central predominance. It should be added that there are professional photographers who are still using these two cameras. |
