![]() | Canon RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM Pros: Lightweight, compact, economical, decent build quality and sharpness (in the center) almost comparable to the equivalent L series (RF) that wins for brightness Cons: Opinion: An honest all-rounder KIT lens that, however, has a decent color rendition and good sharpness. Maybe it lacks a bit of contrast but, at this price, it can be forgiven. I use it as an all-rounder on the road like the many who favor practicality over extreme image quality. It is true that the low (very) light is its main defect, so I bought a tripod that helps a lot to bring home some shots with low light. Of course with 400 € you can find the old EF f4 L used but then you have to hang almost 300gr more weight around your neck.... it is a choice. On the other hand, the choice not to have the classic AF / MF switch that forces you to enter the camera menu is questionable. Autofocus as good as all the latest STMs from Canon. ![]() | Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Pros: value for money, AF, construction and mechanical, focal range, stabilization and discreet nitidezza.rn Cons: just enough brightness, ring manual focus insensitive Opinion: I am using it for over a year and previously had no STM version. I would share the same impressions of RICCARDOB82: this is a discrete lens a little underestimated. Personally I find it very practical (for travel or vacation has a focal range covering most situations), is fitted with a discreet sharpness, what we all try desperately ..... but that often depends on external factors such as clarity air, or camera shake that is sometimes perceived as a lack of the lens, precision of focus .... etc. (A f / 7 - f / 8 is its "sweet spot"). In this regard, I invite you to read an interesting web page about Ken Rockwell http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/lens-sharpness.htm site. Sure there are higher quality objectives, but at this price, this is a lens that makes his honest work. sent on April 21, 2016 |
