![]() | Olympus OM-D E-M5 II Pros: Camera well built, light and compact but solid and professional. Revolving display, tropicalization and optimal layout of controls make it a valuable tool. Notable technical features, all at your fingertips. Compatibility with a lot of excellent optics. Delicious little swivel flash. Cons: Schizophrenic menu; but how can you ruin a beautiful camera by inserting a menu that to be so bad had to require a considerable effort? A 14-150 series lamp that takes a good half-hour of trying to fit in. Opinion: It is a camera that I would call delicious, complete in its functions, built with high quality materials and nevertheless compact and light. The technical features are also respectable and even the movies that usually on the cameras and OLYMPUS are not much, here instead are acceptable. Too bad for the menu that partly spoils all the great work done by the designers. Olympus to make menus should take lessons from Leica sent on August 09, 2020 |
![]() | Leica APO Summicron-M 75mm f/2 ASPH Pros: Sharpness, depth of color, compactness, construction just perfect Cons: Nobody. The price is also reasonable in relation to the quality it offers Opinion: I had taken this lens in place of the 90 (which was not available). I immediately fell in love with this optics; small, sturdy, perfectly assembled, with a built-in lampshade. I used it on the M10 and the SL, but now I use it on the CL, on which it fits perfectly making a very compact and top performance pairing. It is a floating lens lens lens, the blurred is harmonious and chromatically fantastic; CL becomes a 110mm. f/2, perfect for portraiture. Together with 35/1,4 Summilux Asph FLE constitutes my "cup of tea". sent on July 15, 2019 |
![]() | Leica Q2 Pros: Stellar optical quality, light, tropicalized, flawless viewfinder, very fast autofocus, makes the same photos of a M quickly. Cons: Some would say "the price". But a Ferrari cannot cost a little. And this Q2 is the Ferrari of the cameras. Opinion: I had the Q and I changed it to Q2. At first I criticized those who had made a similar choice; I wondered what was the point of changing an almost perfect camera to add a few pixels or some more gadgets. Now I don't think so. The Q is the ideal camera for street photography; Handy, lightweight, fast AF, simple and intuitive menu, superlative viewfinder, full-frame, stellar optics and even "m-like" cornicettes in the viewfinder. But evidently the adjective "ideal" for the Leica was not enough; You wanted absolute perfection. And then the Q2 was born. A sensor with over 42mpx, to be able to cross "in the room" up to the equivalent focal length of 75mm (a 75mm f/1.7!), new long-life battery, still improved viewfinder, even more essential commands (such as those of the M10), 4K video and... Tropicalization. Now there's no one there. Accattativilla (It costs just under €5000!, but it is worth all). sent on June 09, 2019 |
![]() | Canon EOS RP Pros: File quality, price, ergonomics, compatibility, weight, tropicalization, ease of use, intuitive menu, well-studied controls, adjustable display, EF optical adaptor Cons: Lack flash, 4K crop, vulnerable sensor Opinion: I bought it from very little and I had the opportunity to test it with about 300 shots on the road. I state that I own a Leica M10 with 35/1.4 ASPH FLE, an 18/3.4 asph and a 75/2 Apo ASPH. Well, Leica Optics are out of the question, but I have to admit that with the Leica I would have made 5% of the photos. Firstly because it was raining and it would be wet (the Canon RP has been wet without problems because it is tropicalized), then because I would have to change optics frequently, with the risk of dirking the sensor and the loss of precious seconds to grasp the subject of Surprise Finally because I would have had a certain fear to keep to the neck a equipment from €16,000, while instead the Canon RP Col 24-70 f/4 L series cost me 1/5 of the Leica. The RP has proven to be a true FF from a qualitative point of view, while its weight below 500g (1.2 kg with the 24-70 F/4L) gave me the impression of carrying a compact and nothing more. The body of the RP then, built in magnesium alloy and assembled to the rule of art, restores a feeling of compactness and at the same time of solidity hardly noticeable in the price range to which it belongs. Of the Canon RP I appreciated in particular: the quality of the files, the quality even at 12,800 ISO, the lock lever of the adjustments (very useful), the battery life, the type of battery (it is marketed for years and therefore s low price), the display totally Articulated, the easy reading of the menus, the arrangement of the controls, the absence of vibrations at the click, the Tropicalization, the handle, the price, the presence of the EF adaptor included in the sales kit. I did not like: the selector on/off (in my opinion a little fragilino), the lack of protection of the sensor with undocked optics, the 4K cropper, the lack of a closing command of the diaphragm to evaluate the PDC, the system of opening the battery compartment (equal to all Other Canon; I never liked it!), the lack of a small flash for the fill-in, the lack of the stabilizer (but there is on the optics). These are strengths and weaknesses that I have found according to the way I photograph. In any case the Canon RP is a very valid and highly enjoyable camera, and leaves no room for the desire for something more expensive. With native optics It gives the best of itself, but also with the EF optics it behaves very well. Promoted with flying colors. sent on May 20, 2019 |
![]() | Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH Pros: Sharpness, depth of color, detachment of focus planes, three-dimensionality; Better than him there's nobody Cons: Delicate, protruding lower lens, focusing distance, hood cap, price. Opinion: I have the FLE version; The point of arrival, the better of him there is none. Sharp, handsome, compact, with a rendition of the Blur that gives an extraordinary sensation of three-dimensionality. However it has its nei; Being the first of the class involves some compromise: not very close focus, delicacy of the system with floating lenses (avoid shocks, pain complicated interventions in assistance), very protruding back lens (caution when grafting The lens), cap cover hood simply obscene. The price? Only €5,025.00! But it is still worth it (if the wife does not ask for a divorce). sent on February 14, 2019 |
![]() | Leica Vario-Elmar-R 80-200 f/4 Pros: Simply Spectacular Cons: Weight, length and F/4 Opinion: A lens literally spectacular; I find it even better than the Summilux 80/1.4. Bright colors, shades typically Leica, excellent construction. The double-ring solution is comfortable and reliable. I use it with satisfaction on the MIAM10 with adapter for optics R. Side by side with a 35mm, it constitutes alone a whole kit of the highest quality. A very clear and full of personality objective. Manufactured in Japan (Sigma?) under strict German surveillance. Unfortunately it is no longer in production. It is located in the used market at prices that oscillate around the €1000, but it is worth all; And maybe more. sent on February 14, 2019 |
![]() | Leica CL Pros: compactness, sharpness, 4k video, build quality, accept premium optics, batteries equal to Leica Q and Leica V-Lux/Panasonic FZ-1000, excellent viewfinder Cons: menu to study, lacks the video stabilizer Opinion: I purchased this machine with two zoom 18-56 and 55-135 (which correspond to a 28-80 and a 80-200 respectively), already possessing a Leica Q and therefore wishing to have a camera body that accepts interchangeable. At the time of purchase is a bit ' skeptical because I had bought a Leica T time, and I was not at all satisfied, so much so that I had to resell. This Leica CL is entirely different. A fantastic viewfinder, the typically German build quality, a beautiful all-new sensor and the ability to shoot amazing 4k videos, make this camera the beginning of a whole new era for those who love the red sticker. I also own a Panasonic GX8 that I had taken exclusively to make excellent quality video pairing the excellent Olympus 12-100. I have to say though that the 4k videos of the Leica CL are nicer and sharper, and the photographs of this camera are actually comparable to those of a non-Leica full frame. The compactness of the more optical Leica CL system makes the ensemble a true Mini-Leica-M kit. And on the other hand, the price of a similar kit being remarkably expensive is not so much the competition and also consider the tightness of the price of the used. sent on September 26, 2018 |
![]() | Leica Elmar-M 24mm f/3.8 ASPH Pros: Simply spectacular Cons: Nobody Opinion: I own the f / 2.8 aspherical version. It is a simply spectacular lens with unparalleled sharpness and a depth of color and a three-dimensional image. Those who choose a lens like this are aware of getting the most out of it, especially when used with FF. So superfluous to talk about prices. Those who buy a Ferrari can not complain about its price. sent on December 15, 2017 |
![]() | Leica X Vario (Typ 107) Pros: E 'became my "first" camera. I do everything with it. I sold the M240 because the manual focus for me was complicated because of a problem in his left eye. I do not regret. The X Vario has given me the joy of photographing. A robust and refined material body, with an M-like design with the addition of the viewfinder (required if you want jno comprehensive tool) allows to solve any picture taking. The 28-70 is not very bright but it does not create any major problems, since it can take up to 3200 at full aperture without loss of quality. The versatile and not interchangeable lens causes the sensor is not exposed to dust. The compact size of the machine makes the device suitable for use on any occasion. The menu is exceptionally simple and intuitive controls easily accessible. The battery lasts a long time and the finish of the instrument are taken care maniacally. The X-Vario files are vibrant, sharp and three-dimensional, and do not requirespecial touches, even in jpeg. Another feature: the X-Vario croppati files can be up to 4x with no loss of quality, so the 28-70 Vario-Elmar miraculously becomes a 28-280. I had Nikon 750 and I still Olympus OMD1 optic Pro; but the Leica X Vario belongs to another planet. Do not listen to the reviews of the pseudo-gurus who know everything about photography. I photograph for 54 years and I must say that for me the X-Vario is my final acchiani, as at the time was the M3. Also the used price is hyper convenient; It is located at 1200-1300 euro: a bargain. Cons: I have paid € 2450 and now worth half because of talkers reviewers that internet shoot judgments based on lines per mm. a resolution. Leica has a charm all its own. The Leica photographs do not follow the laboratory parameters; they possess a depth of color and a shadow color that no other brand can give to their optics. Opinion: Perfect. I meet all over. With it I Street, environmental portrait (from 35mm. To 70mm), scenery, static photography, food and nature. It 's always with me. I do not ever sell it. The optical quality is comparable to that of the Leica T (have the same APS-C sensor), only in T (and now in TL) it is possible to change the objectives and also mount lenses M and R, but lost the immediacy of 'AF. I with X-Vario do too close up shot, mounting additional lenses (only 70mm focal.). I find 'the beautiful solution of the transition between AF and MF simply by rotating the focus ring to focus. sent on November 27, 2016 |
![]() | Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO Pros: Beautiful optics, well built and the convincing performance, a fixed optical level. Valuable the fn key, the recessed ring for the MF, the bulk and limited weight. It should be given in marriage to the 40-150 f / 2.8. Cons: I wonder why it was not put the hood falling (as the 40-150 f / 2.8). Opinion: With this aim it does everything from Street to portrait or photo set. Weight and size limited excellent build quality and is also waterproof so it's simply a couple Olympus OMD 1 and 40-150 f / 2.8. The Fn key is used to customization and through it you can choose one of 27 available functions. Price not exaggerated. sent on October 15, 2016 |
![]() | Olympus M.Zuiko ED 40-150mm f/2.8 Pro Pros: excellent quality, both from the optical point of view constructively. Selection of resistant materials without exceeding with the weight (aluminum?). First-level optical performance, truly pro. Brilliant hood falling and equally brilliant for the MF Dial and customizable button (27 functions). Bokeh fine. not excessively large. appropriate price. Cons: Nothing to say. Of course, those who think that a top object can cost less than a thousand euro, should review their parameters. Opinion: The picture quality is at very high levels. I used Leica M240 with Tele-Elmar 135 f / 4 (later sold to lack of practicality in focus), and I can say that the 40-150 f / 2.8 is not far from the Leica standard, it has an image quality fixed focus, so its practicality often overshadows the rather modest gap in performance compared to the proud Leica standards. With OMD1 goes perfectly, even better if with battery pack, since the weight and the lens size are better compensated. sent on October 15, 2016 |
