![]() | OM System OM-1 Pros: Autofocus, OLED viewfinder, battery, higher ISO more manageable, scary burst, stabilization. Cons: Good key position but not as good as those of the EM1X. Opinion: I have always used Olympus in every photographic situation: still life, portraits, landscapes, normal photos. However for nature photography (wildlife) I have always preferred to use the Canon 1DX and the 500mm F4 IS USM L II. The autofocus, ISO seal and burst speeds of olympus in recent years have never been at the level of the competition. With the EM1X we have come a little closer but still not enough. With the OM-1 I was convinced to discontinue the Canon kit (which I already often left at home in favor of the EM1X with the Zuiko 300 F4). The autofocus is finally reliable, precise, hooks up immediately and well. The 50FPS burst is scary and combined with the ability to use functions like ProCapture, LiveND etc make the machine even more interesting and unique. It's what I wanted, a small, reliable machine, suitable for everything and that allows me to shoot with a light and space-saving complete kit. The compromises that are paid? The ISO and Gamma seal compared to the competition. Even at this point, however, while not making any huge leap compared to the EM1X, the files are easier to work even with a lot of noise (same noise but the fine detail and colors are eaten much less). Han slightly changed the position of some keys compared to the EM1X and perhaps out of habit I did not find myself as well as on the previous machine. sent on July 19, 2022 |
![]() | Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 7-14mm f/2.8 Pro Pros: Lightweight, compact, well built and with excellent quality. Cons: Suffer from flare but then is an ultra-wide Opinion: Goal really succeeded. He was able to reduce the old 7-14 F4 optical quality in a large, heavy lens half, bringing the maximum opening at 2.8. well-positioned buttons, well built and great quality even at the edges. The only thing to be careful is the risk-flare that with this ultrawide is always at the gates (but it is also normal). sent on April 26, 2016 |
![]() | Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Sharp, Bright, Tropicalised, metal. Cons: Nobody. Opinion: The use of more than one year. And 'surprisingly comfortable to carry anywhere. Impeccable as sharpness at all focal lengths and fixed aperture to 2.8. Tropicalization well executed (never had a problem even in the super-moist environments), convenient dial to switch from AF to MF. Autofocus very fast and very accurate. An absolute must of the m4 / 3 system. sent on February 19, 2016 |
![]() | Olympus OM-D E-M1 Pros: Small, light, superb ergonomics, customization of each command, electronic viewfinder fabulous, good autofocus, excellent file and tropical, wireless file sharing, remote tethering easy with smartphones and pads, large park optical stabilizer to 5 axes. Cons: The batteries last much less than the SLR, missing the instruction manual on paper, focus peaking improved, only one slot for a memory card, the screen is not articulated like the old E-series. Opinion: The electronic viewfinder is the main reason that led me to buy the EM-1 and is the reason why virtually since its purchase I have not touched the old SLR lenses. In addition to the natural advantages in terms of size and heavy weight there are advantages from every point of view. Have the result ready in the viewfinder allows you to optimize exposures with no margin for error, the image in the electronic viewfinder is almost as big D4 or the 1DX, you can zoom in on a subject in the viewfinder and make fast and accurate focused manuals where autofocus may not help, and so on. The autofocus lenses with m4 / 3 is very fast and does not miss a beat. With the lens 4/3 (which I use mainly) autofocus quickly, accurately and species in C-AF mode is much more reliable. The camera can shoot bursts from 10fps (with exposure, focus locked at the first frame) or 6.5 (with autofocus and exposure ranging between one shot and the other). The ergonomics and the complete lostinternationalization of the functions of the camera is another point in favor not to be overlooked. For me it is the future. sent on April 15, 2014 |
![]() | Olympus Zuiko Digital ED 7-14mm f/4.0 Pros: Focal extreme fear of sharp even at the edges, construction, internal zoom. Cons: Unable to mount filters and light f / 4. Opinion: I recently purchased in order to take photographs of interiors and landscapes and this ultra wide-angle lens is the best of what it can offer the 4/3 format. The lens has AF and zoom inside and as the series Pro and Top Pro tropicalization and construction is at very high levels. The geometric distortions are very light and very correct despite the specific fear of this lens as well as chromatic aberrations, virtually non-existent. With a focal length so wide, however, should always be very careful to flare but the neat trick of the hand always works. RNIN made of sharpness this lens is astonishing (especially at the edges), even at full aperture. rnrnDi negative I have not found much, maybe the fact that it is not bright (f4 constant) and was unable to mount circular filters on the lens anteriore.rnrnNota: You can push the lens to 2.8 consistent with a trick: Just press the button release the lens, turning it slightly (a tad bit, just to release the contacts) and voila. As read byentries in the network, the objective is actually a constant 2.8 "castrated" by software to F4 for the presence of strong vignetting at room temperature. This explains why, blasting contacts with the trick explained above, the objective work to f2.8. sent on November 04, 2012 |
![]() | Olympus E-620 Pros: Greatly reduced in dimension. Live view with articulated screen, in-camera stabilization, good image quality, good wireless flash system. Cons: Suffering autofocus in low light, small viewfinder, held at high ISO is not exceptional. Opinion: Machine lightweight and compact but does not compromise, in fact the camera has good or bad all the features of a normal reflex and this makes us a truly versatile and discreet. In fact, there are internal stabilization, system for the removal of dust on the sensor, wireless flash system, live view screen articolatissimo, and a very good image quality. sent on August 30, 2011 |
![]() | Olympus E-5 Pros: Excellent resolution, excellent ergonomics, tropicalization unrivaled S-AF very fast, stabilization room, Live view articulated, large screen with high resolution. JPG really good. Cons: C-AF is not the level of competition, held ISO is not exciting (manageable until 1250-1600), a 5fps burst. Opinion: A great car that has as main strength of his incredible strength and sealing. I took good or bad in all conditions, snow, frost, flood, sand, waterfalls (below: D) and the machine has never had any problems. The fact of not having to worry about absolutely the conditions in which you take for me is very important. The Olympus E-5, but not only that. It 'a machine that has a high resolution (compared to the E-3 is a very impressive gain in quality) and great versatility. The LCD screen is very well organized and has a very impressive resolution. The controls, at least for me, are very intuitive and wireless flash system is really easy to use. The autofocus is much better than the Olympus E-3/E-30, it is very fast and accurate. The system C-AF is not yet at the level of the Canon / Nikon but is still enjoyable (unlike the E-3, a real disaster). The estate ISO is good but even here suffers a bit 'over the competition. However, there is to be discouraged, in 1600 you still get good photos. But the real big advantage of this camera is the ability to mount the lens Zuiko 4/3 and is probably the main reason to choose olympus. sent on August 30, 2011 |
