![]() | Canon EOS R Pros: Perfect handle, sensor and colors, fast AF, battery, infinite optical park Cons: Single slot, touchbar (?!) Opinion: After almost 50,000 shots I can definitely promote it as the best machine I've ever had. For a variety of reasons, sensor and colors, excellent yield up to 6400 and wanting even further, excellent dynamic range. AF that with the latest update has changed from day to night, especially in AF-C. A pleasure to use, a resolute and well-contrasted EVF, the balance of the white is very precise and I almost never tend to correct it when shooting. Clearly the talk of the single slot has influenced many but it is clear that it was a well-liked choice by Canon, the R5 that is going to come will fill this gap but the R to date is still a machine lady. The use combined with 35 RF, 50 Art and 85 1.4 L IS. In general any optics there mounted (excluding super canvases) makes better than on reflex, especially for the accuracy of the fire. The autonomy is sometimes ballerina, varies from 800 shots up to 2000 and beyond, it depends on how you use it, and I noticed that with stabilized optics it drops more easily. I'm not talking about video features because I've never shot half a second of clips with any machine. I update what has already been written just to insert in the counters the touch bar, which I completely disabled because in practical use it is inaccurate missing a feedback to touch. Completely useless. sent on April 30, 2020 |
![]() | Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM Pros: Light and compact, good but not too much at 1.8, Cons: AF little little short fast Opinion: Would it have been too much to ask Canon for a 35 RF 1.8 USM? Because let's be clear, if you come from more high-performance fixtures especially with USM engines you see the difference. And I'm talking about photo usage, I don't make videos. All in all after a while you get used to it but for 500 euros they could do better. Used on Eos R make a nice couple especially for reportage among people or to shoot in the street. sent on April 30, 2020 |
![]() | Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Pros: AF speed, good sharpness to all diaphragms especially at TA, price Cons: Maybe an anonymous surrender, it's not a 50mm that makes you fall in love Opinion: The premise: for me the best lens in this focal point is the 58 1.4 G Nikon. This Sigma is a great handyman, the size all in all are acceptable, famous for a yield engraved at 1.4. Perhaps his only flaw as I see it is that it has a cold and anonymous blur, nothing to do with 58 nikon or with the Canon 1.2 L. Of course, you will say, it costs even a third compared to these two. and that's why I promote it. Another Pro to add to the list is that on Eos R (and in general on ML) does not miss a photo at 1.4 I fail to do it on purpose. Both in AF-S and in continuous fire eyes/faces. never had any problems even on 5D4 anyway. sent on April 30, 2020 |
![]() | Canon EF 85mm f/1.4 L IS USM Pros: 1.4 incision, stabilizer, fire speed, "short" lampshade Cons: weight, it's pretty big! Opinion: Let's say that the con is inevitable, more than the weight you feel precisely the dimensions that are beautiful generous. But after the first 100 shots it makes you go through all the pain. AF fast always, hooks in the backlight, in the dark, everywhere. stabilizer that helps sometimes but I always keep at least 1/160 because anyway the weight is important. On the 5D4 is sewn to brush, on the Eos R more adapter is very unbalanced. I solved with a meike grip to add to the R. Although the 85 1.2 can be "more magical", this is a modern project that assures you magnificent shots at 1.4 without "hoping" to catch fire. Strange! sent on April 30, 2020 |
![]() | Canon 6D Mark II Pros: Lightness, well-built and solid body, file quality for "all round" use, price, INFINITE battery, articulated monitor Cons: Single slot, shadow recovery Opinion: I write these opinions after using it for almost 70,000 shots and over 40 weddings, after outings in the mountains, personal services, street photography and those who have more. I am convinced that the 6D Mark II could be enough for 90% of photographers who for forum pippe or false myths mist the bistratta for the reduced dynamic range. Photograph with your head, not with datasheets. For as little as 1000 euros it has everything you need to bring work home, a good sensor to squeeze up to 8000 ISO, a good AF even with little light (certainly do not claim that of the 5D Mark IV). I only sold it because I found a 5D4 at a low and since as a first body I use an Eos R having "similar" files I was comfortable. But I admit that sometimes I miss it. sent on April 30, 2020 |
