![]() | Fujifilm XF 18-55 f/2.8-4R LM OIS Pros: construction, size and lightness; optical rendering Cons: for now none Opinion: I have this lens for a few months and replaced the fuji 23 mm without any regret. I am not interested in the in-depth technical characteristics and therefore I am content to evaluate positively the set of pros that I have indicated; it is an extremely useful perspective in many situations and currently the one I use the most. Street and landscape, of course are the fields where it excels. I do not think it is a travel lens if alone (more suitable the 16-80) but it is still very versatile. The ability to deactivate OIS with a key is very useful. sent on March 19, 2022 |
![]() | Rollei Rock Solid Alpha Carbon Pros: extremely robust and rigid even at maximum extension. Expensive but much less when compared to other more famous brands. Cons: weight not indifferent Opinion: purchased for about a year complete with head T7S mkII I got to use it for naturalistic photos... Well, to carry around is definitely heavy also in view of the fact that you have to add a head, better if gimbal or video , in short, becomes a boulder. There is positive that it can be used as an improper weapon and can also be useful to ward off animals or exuberant people ... The construction quality is excellent, the large diameter tubes give a decidedly reassuring rigidity even at the maximum extension. I also purchased the central extension cord (directly from the Chinese manufacturer... ) for even greater versatility. sent on March 07, 2021 |
![]() | Canon EOS R6 Pros: Autofocus, ease of use, accessible controls, fantastic viewfinder, burst. Cons: cost, accessory cost Opinion: Given that such a camera is far superior to my photography skills I have given myself a gift for 60 years... So I have this camera since December 2020, and it replaced the 6DmkII that I was quite satisfied with. The reason for the change was because of the burst and the characteristics of autofocus. Everything as I had hoped, especially the autofocus is spectacular and works great with canon, tamron and sigma optics. Yes, maybe with the tamron's 150-600 G2 it's not as fast as you'd like but I'll make a reason for it, for the nature photo it's a bomb. AF priority eyes is crazy. The easily accessible and programmable cone controls, really comfortable and, personally, I do not miss the top screen: you can do everything from the viewfinder. The ergonomics are excellent although I preferred to add a plate with a swiss ark attachment to increase the grip on the right hand. I would gladly buy a battery grip wasn't that the cost is really embarrassing, something closer to extortion than selling. Canon's Choices :-) The resistance to high ISO is also spectacular, already the 6DmkII was excellent but with this you level up. 20 mp are few? it may be, I actually took some shots with the 150-600 G2 to very distant and croppando subjects, I did not notice an excessive loss of quality. The viewfinder: coming from 40 years of reflex (analog first and then digital) a big stumbling block to the purchase of a mirrorless was the quality of the viewfinder, without taking anything away from the goodness of the camera I had tried an A7IIIR without buying it precisely because of the quality, to my feeling, of the image in the viewfinder. On the R6 you almost don't realize it's an electronic viewfinder other than for the chance to preview what the shot will look like, which is a crazy fixxta. Making it short: it is expensive, very expensive but I am happy with the purchase. Ah, I don't make videos. sent on February 26, 2021 |
![]() | Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD Pros: Sharpness, detail, bokeh Cons: original lampshh a little faint Opinion: I used this lens a lot and found it really good on so many occasions. A handyman of the highest quality. Fast autofocus, at least for my expectations. The only flaw is in the original lampshon that lasted little, replaced with an aluminum one, screwed that I found very practical. Solid but not very heavy, excellent grip of the rings and convenient 24 mm locking for transport and trekking. As for a must in the kit. sent on December 14, 2020 |
![]() | Canon 1D Mark IV Pros: a tank Cons: a tank :-) Opinion: used with 220,000 shots without any repentance. It suffers a little the high ISO (I have a 6D mkII which, I find, has a better yield ) but with good light the image quality is really remarkable. The weight is definitely felt but so it is, you save on the gym... The ergonomics are great, the controls are easily accessible and the menus, classic canon, understandable. I don't feel the lack of gps or wi-fi and I would definitely buy it back. sent on May 12, 2020 |
