![]() | Panasonic Lumix S Pro 70-200mm f/4 OIS Pros: Construction, AF Cons: shading hood, price Opinion: Taken new on Amazon at the same already discounted price of cashback after waiting months to find a used specimen in good condition, opened the box mounted on the s1, immediately updated the fw, proved to live up to my expectations, much chubby than the canon 70-200 is f4 that I used so far cn mc21, but well balanced, returns sharp and well-contrasted images, responsive and fast aFc, at the level of the fixed Lumix S, soft bokeh, since I took it I did three ceremonies without ever removing it from the machine, with two bodies and a 24-70 covered all the needs in the ceremonial field. The only cons that I would like to point out are the ugly and plastic hood and the high price for an f4, but unfortunately incomprehensibly the L-mount optics are all overpriced by 5-10% compared to the E mount. Optics highly recommended if you are not afraid of 100 grams more in the bag. Rating 9.8 only for the cons listed sent on July 31, 2023 |
![]() | Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Pros: Art construction, sharp, fast af, total lens quality Cons: as already highlighted small distortion at 24mm, also I can not find the lens profile in CR and Lr Opinion: taken to replace the excellent 24-105 lumixS more to standardize the files having already 85 and 105 art. All-rounder optics that allows you to do everything with quality, price in line for build quality, heavy but like all art l glass good weighs. In my version of Lr I can't find the lens profile to apply any corrections automatically, but it's more a curiosity than a real need. Optics highly recommended vote for me 9.5 I put my hand back to the review after about a season of intense use of the optics, to report that the quality of the rubber of the rings has quite disappointed me, with the use they have discolored even if they are not loose but aesthetically it is very ugly to see, I also point out the very hard lens hood graft, which caused visible markings on the attachment of the same, I drop from 9.5 to 9 the evaluation for the defects mentioned above sent on July 03, 2022 |
![]() | Sigma 105mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Pros: the optics in full Cons: say weight and size would be inutle, good glass weighs Opinion: I wanted to take off a whim, I presented the opportunity at an excellent price and accomplice exchange of lens that I did not use often, I took this beast Lmount version, after the initial doubt that assailed me as soon as I removed it from the case I immediately put it to the test, not before having it firmly anchored with its strap to the ring that avoids stressing too much the attack on the machine (weighs a lot ragà), autofocus in line with the other art I have, both for speed and precision, the images are of a disconcerting beauty, the colors, as it detaches the subject from the background, blurred beautiful. It is a challenging lens, both in mastering it and in its use, with the hood it becomes a cannon, it is for well-defined projects, carrying it in your bag without knowing if you will have the opportunity to use it is crazy, but if you want a lens that makes you want to portray anything take it in a hurry, otherwise the 85 1.4 art is the little brother. sent on June 26, 2022 |
![]() | Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG DN Art Pros: is an Art Cons: cap, huge hood, minimum maf distance Opinion: I changed my beautiful 85 f1.8 Lumix S taking advantage of a great price for a demo of this 85, the reasons that led me to change are mainly two, the diaphragm ring and the very convenient customizable button on the Art. Of the goodness of the lens I was sure because I already owned Art lenses on Nikon SLRs, so I did not expect anything more nothing less than what I found, sharpness and blurred beautiful, Af in line with the other Panasonic lenses, heavier and bulkier (especially with the huge hood) of the Lumix S, construction quality at the top. It returns beautiful images with faithful colors. Even some uncertainty of the fire often turns into something magical for the partial blurry, too bad for the minimum focusing distance but is balanced by the many pros of this magnificent lens. As for the difference between the lumixS and the Art I confirm my review on the Panasonic, it is a beautiful lens at a hyper competitive cost, probably without the opportunity of the demo and the price I would not have changed it with the Art, for those who make Video I believe that the Lumix S f1.8, for quality, weight and size are an excellent choice also for use on stabilizers. In short, two beautiful lenses of which you will certainly not be disappointed. sent on March 04, 2022 |
![]() | AmazonBasics - Zaino per fotocamera e accessori Pros: price, compactness Cons: separators with little resistance, little rigidity Opinion: although it is not a perfect backpack it is the only one I use for the comfort that I find in its compactness being able to store it in the undersaddle of the Tmax, it has a good capacity, contains an S1 with 85 and an s5 with 24-105 mounted, plus a 50, a tt 600 godox flash with trigger and six batteries,. I also had to reinforce it with a seam to the separators, once I found the configuration, to avoid the detachment of the same when it is not completely full. in the external pockets I store the cable, a power bank, charger and a small LED spotlight without problems. At the moment it has not given me any problem and for the price of about 25 euros I think it is an unbeatable product, with a little imagination you can overcome its criticalities, such as sewing a strip of velcro on the bottom and on the basis of the separators, like the most expensive backpacks (I also have a lovepro AWBP350), so that they remain anchored more stably. sent on November 24, 2021 |
![]() | Panasonic S5 Pros: lightness, grip, dimensions, adjustable LCD (and resealable if necessary) Cons: noisy, long shutter button stroke, dual slots with different speeds Opinion: As an S1 owner, to rationalize the equipment I gave back the Fuji kit I had and I took an s5 precisely for the measurements and weight. As soon as you open and taken from the package you can clearly perceive that the S5 is a good car but that nothing has to do with the older sisters in terms of perception of quality of materials, just open the door of the Sd accommodation or the battery compartment that you realize that the S1 is a whole other world, anyway the sensor does its duty very well, Raw excellent, made high iso more than good and perhaps even better than the S1, Autofocus the line with that of the S1 I do not notice any increase in speed at least with the optics in my possession, I do not like the sound of the shutter, a very annoying tlac similar to that of the glorious D700, it has excellent ergonomics, falls well in the hand and the buttons are all easily accessible, I do not like the position of the rec video on the shell, that of the S1 is very comfortable next to the eyepiece. Ultimately it is a great car that with the discounts of these days at 1690 is attractive while at full price, on 1990, if you do not have problems with the weights and dimensions the S1 with your eyes closed. ![]() | Panasonic Lumix S 50mm f/1.8 Pros: weight, size, quality of the blurred Cons: none if you appreciate the focal length Opinion: I waited for a month of continuous use and different contexts to come to the conclusion that this is a very good optics, such as the 85 same series, good construction and materials, good AF response on Lumix S1, pleasant blurred and good definition, it is a little noisy in focus, but I can not say if it is a problem of all or only of my specimen but the 85 is quieter, anyway nothing that since my use is mainly photographic, as clearly it was to be expected it was conceived and built to give the best on the S series bodies, personally I would have preferred the 35 f 1.8 first, but I think we do not talk about it soon since it seems close to the release of the 24mm. For all those who are preparing to take an s5 body soon can take advantage of the promotion of the kit with the 50 mm at only 100 euros more, in my opinion unmissable (like the 24-105 until a few months ago offered with the s1 at an absolutely advantageous price). For me rating 9.5 only for the noise of the engine af sent on September 14, 2021 |
![]() | Panasonic Lumix S 85mm f/1.8 Pros: lightness, sharpness, color rendering, three-dimensionality, lampshed Cons: the only comparable autofocus lens, would be the Art 85 f1.4 which costs exactly twice as much, weighs twice as much and is not worth twice as much.. so nothing Opinion: taken with the S1, I immediately appreciated its size and lightness, an optics to be taken into account in the presence of a Lumix kit. I did some house trials to sum up its yield and was absolutely satisfied with it. I allege two jpeg on camera without any correction, I photographed some tulips in fabric and an outdoor photo in which you can notice the beautiful detachment of the floors and the sharpness of this open diaphragm optics. ![]() | Panasonic S1 Pros: fabulous viewfinder, af with more than satisfactory 1.7 firmware, well-proportioned body and controls, high iso rendering, beautiful photo file, great monitor, battery life in line with the latest mirrorless although the competition an evf so at the moment if you dream it Cons: xqd slot that forces an important outlay for media of at least 128 giga, Opinion: I deal with ceremony and I come from Fuji who over the years has satisfied me and of which I am still fully satisfied for a thousand reasons, starting with the very high cost/quality ratio of xf optics, to the point that I still kept the Xpro 2/3 kit with three fixed. I wanted to take a ff with two fixed optics that I feel most in tune with for the way I photograph, a 35 and an 85, discarding Sony ( I had for a year a Sony a7 R2 great machine but never took the feeeling with its file, despite the color profiles I bought from the great Raamiel) I was intrigued by the S1 they are giving at an excellent price with the 24/105 f4, but I was still undecided due to the lack of availability of prime optics and the lack of confidence I have in Sigma Art adapted to L mounth with that horrible hoof. Having read the review that precedes me of my friend Alfonso Alfieri and after sending him a message to get a professional opinion from those who use the machine for work, I decided to try it from Fotoema. First impressions in the store just taken in my hands: it seemed to me to have returned to the D700 both as a weight and as a footprint, the machine falls into the hand perfectly, commands all at your fingertips, feeling robust, massive, nice monitor.. then I approached the eye to the eyepiece and then I realized that I was looking at something superior to everything I had so far tried in the mirrorless field.. a spectacular viewfinder at that point all doubts fell and taking advantage of the excellent price I took the combo with the 24/105 and the 85 f1.8 Lumix, also spectacular optics that I will review apart. The file of this machine is beautiful, workable without problems, Excellent dynamic range, absolutely satisfactory jpeg on camera, the raw (there is no possibility of Raw compressed lossless) weighs around 35/38 mega, fully supported by both Acr and Capture One, the combo with the excellent 24/105 is perfect, despite being F4 at full opening gives a blurry voucher to medium focals, autofocus updated to the latest firmware has no problem, face recognition and reliable eye. What I did not like, but it is understandable the choice being a hybrid machine also dedicated to Video, the very fast xqd slot that forces an additional expense of a couple of hundred euros for a 128 giga, for those like me who are used to the double backup slot for security. Overall it is a machine that is satisfying me every day more, that at the price with which it goes away today you have to do more than one thought, I think I will take as soon as the Lumix 35 f1.8 comes out. sent on March 27, 2021 |
![]() | Sainsonic Kamlan 50mm f/1.1 Pros: Construction, deceit, bokeh Cons: some aberration but in relation to the non-determining price Opinion: I note that my review refers to the MkII version of this optics which, compared to the first version, has undergone substantial improvements in its entirety. Heavy optics, metal, metal lampshade with screw attachment even inside to screw it on the barrel even with unused optics, annoying if you need to shoot maybe on the fly because the lampshade covers the ring of the maf, obscene gray cap difficult to block (at least my specimen). In the use it turns out to be a very fun optics to use, on fuji with the help of the maf you do not have big problems considering also the opening, a nice pasty bokeh, batterly colors quite saturated, coupled with the XH1 is well balanced, great for portraits, the sharpness is good enough even at full opening, but closing a stop aligns with the standards of optics of quite higher cost. Not very easy to find on the various online sites, my specimen I took used in excellent condition and I will keep it in my kit along with the xf fujinon, lens recommended for those who want to have fun with bright optics and regain confidence with the manual focus sent on June 18, 2020 |

![]() | Fujifilm X-H1 Pros: double slot, stabilizer, current price, viewfinder Cons: nothing if referring to the machine segment Opinion: I took the xh1 as a second body to support the xt3, the first thing I did was to detach it from the grip and compare it with the xt3, for weight and ergonomics in my opinion imperceptible differences due more to the arrangement of the keys of the h1 than to the size. Put to the test immediately after a short setting paired with the 16-55 f2.8 and without grip, (probably I will use it only as a charger or in the very rare cases when I will find myself needing autonomy without having to waste time changing the battery), the machine responded excellently to my expectations, the file is great, I tried both raw compressed and not, it is I must say that I did not see on video between the two rows differences that justify a file that weighs twice as much, quick maybe a pelino less than the xt3 in afc, equal in afs, facial recognition and maf on the eye fast and reliable, with the battery fully charged I took 360 shots and the display marked two notches , I did not push myself until the complete exhaustion and shutdown of the machine so I believe that on the 350/360 shots are in line with the mirrorless of this range, (with my Sony RII) at about 300 shots I had to change battery because I had focus problems), precise that I disabled the revision to the photo monitor but with the boost and stabilizer activated. The judgment on this machine is absolutely positive, at the current price do not buy it and taking a used xt2 at almost the same figures is absolutely to be avoided. A little reflection on the commercial side of this machine is to be done, at its exit it cost too much, then the price fell when the market had turned to something else.. on 1300/1500 it was a car at an honest price but no one bought it and consequently the second-hand market is also stuck, I would not be surprised if after the move of the 300 euros discount and after that, as is happening, many and many will appreciate the goodness of the machine, you can also wake up the second-hand market .... and I wouldn't be surprised if in a year you will find used H1s for sale at the same price paid today for the new. 03/02/2021 I take up my opinion on this machine, after a year and a half of use coupled with the xt3 and xpro2, I can only say that in heavy use I have never disappointed in any of its characteristics, comparing it with xt3 and xpro2 I can say that the IQ is absolutely identical (xpro2) the lean operating speed (of the xt3) is almost imperceptible in use (I do weddings and events), to the point that I sold the xt3 before the devaluation thanks to the discounts and various cash backs of Fuji, and I kept xh1 and xpro. in conclusion I can only confirm the positive opinion on the camera that maybe I will change only for a uniformity of machine bodies moving on to the xpro series, or maybe I will keep it, I have not yet decided, my advice for anyone who is still undecided having found some for sale is to take it quietly even today in 2021, as long as you do not make the usual mental pippe on the weight on the dimensions etc. because today it seems that the hundred grams more or less on a body machine have become decisive on the choice of a camera built to last and for traditional use, for those with weak shoulders there are other types of cameras or excellent smartphones sent on September 28, 2019 |
![]() | Fujifilm X-T3 Pros: beautiful, ghiere, general responsiveness, sensor, autofocus Cons: iso estate for those who need to go beyond 1600/2000 Opinion: I bought the Xt3 with the 16-55 f 2.8, permuting my Sony RII in anticipation of a massive devaluation, I would go back I would buy the same xt3 but I would not sell the RII but I would keep both, because despite the many comparisons, personal opinions and partisanships between the brands, are two completely different machines for different uses, both take great photos, Fuji has jpeg files of a unique beauty, an operational responsiveness that Sony (RII) dreams of, a precise autofocus and it give you a sense of Pleasure to grip the machine with two hands adjust times and diaphragms with the diaphragm and shoot, between the two evf there is no comparison, the Fuji is much more precise fluid and sharp ness same of the lcd. The Raf files are now managed quite well even by LR as long as you know what and how you are doing, it is not a file to be undone to be clear, to develop it requires small and limited interventions, subject to the complete loss of detail, in my opinion C1 is still a p and higher but the difference does not justify the change of software and workflow habits, in short the xt3 is a nice machine, it is probably the best aps-c at the moment. Turning to the cons of this little jewel, I can only point out the poor seal over 2000 iso that for me are the limit, of course the files can be used for printing up to 6400 thanks to the noise of Fuji that results in that very fine and uniform grain , but far from the quality you might have from an FF sensor to the same sensitivity clearly bearing in mind that you compare an aps-c with an FF. In conclusion I recommend the xt3 with eyes closed for professionals and advanced amateurs (it is not an easy machine to master) that for their type of work do not need to go beyond the above sensitivities, you will not regret it in the slightest, if then it is considered that in order to have the same optical quality, to build any Fujinon kit you have to spend at least twice as much for the equivalents of other brands, the scale hangs even more on the Fuji side. sent on July 18, 2019 |
![]() | Sony A7r II Pros: File quality, weight, materials, aesthetics, resolution (which could also be a cons) Cons: Resolution (which could also be a pro) battery life, SD flap quite fragile and easy to accidentally open tucking or pulling it out of the bag Opinion: I wanted to try absolutely a Sony A7 body, I was geared to take a a7ii to flank it with my Nikon kit and see how and if they could coexist, taking advantage of a Sony day at my retailer, I was presented an opportunity to take the R2 with a Full-bodied cashback from Sony and I took it along with Samyang Af35 F 1.4. From the moment I mounted the optics and I did some shots for testing in the house I realized that the machine was a little gem of technology and performance, already having a Sony A6000 I was already accustomed to the menus not really clear and then after having hacked u Little I have set it according to my needs. On the field, at a ceremony, I found myself shooting more with Sony than with the usual Nikon without any problem, the Samyang is a wonderful lens from the value for money at the moment unbeatable in my opinion, very fast fire silent and precise, Practically out of focus zero shots.. Everything beautiful? Not everything.. For 800 shots about I used two batteries plus a third that at the end of the job was at 70% but given the cost and encumbrance is not a big problem, except that you have to make enough attention to the fact that you arrive at 30% my original Sony download pretty A faster and you run the risk of blocking maybe at an important time, the raw (ARW) are boulders of 42/45 MB (using the raw compressed) and you have to take into account from the point of view of hardware endowment, but in the face of these small inconvenience files that re Stituisce are a spectacle, deep lavorabilissimi, engraved.. In short, a show, for a more accurate evaluation I reserve to work again in some event to test it on more than one occasion, but at the moment I'm very satisfied with the purchase, maybe never abandon Nikon but I think this machine will be able to Rest in the bag on more than one occasion sent on June 04, 2018 |
![]() | Tamron SP 35mm f/1.8 Di VC USD Pros: compactness, aesthetics, stabilization, serious lens hood, weight, price, sharpness Cons: Less fast in AFC than AFS, at least on Nikon D700 Opinion: Bought at a great price in physical store (ex Demo) mounted on the D700 has immediately shown its qualities of sharpness, rendered color and beautiful blurry. A brief comparison with the Sigma Art. It made me prefer it for compactness and weight and I did not regret it, between the two the Sigma is a hair sharper, but this is due to the stabilization of the Tamron which, conversely, is effective. Used with K&F adapter on Sony A6000 and A7II with manual focus: excellent sent on May 14, 2018 |
