![]() | Leica SL (Typ 601) Pros: Perfect for landscapes, excellent ergonomics, well studied in terms of functionality and keys, excellent video side (L-Log equals SL2), L-mount, Solid Cons: Not compatible with the current Novoflex Q plates (and probably also from other brands), you can not set the Leitz R lens if the adapter lacks contact, lacks stabilization in the room. Eye gum. Opinion: NB: Since i can't use more than 4000 characters I'll reduce my review (I'll open a dedicated post if necessary) - I'll edit this review after a long time use. Great camera in so many ways. I find it perfect for tripod photographs (landscape, architecture, night, etc.). I do not express myself regarding action photos as I have not tried the AF thoroughly, although they say it is good. Solid, completely made of aluminum alloy, pleasant to the touch, falls perfectly in the hands. Simple shape, which I appreciate, personally use it at the top (where there is the secondary screen) there is room to place a precision bubble from diameter of 3cm or more. The controls are positioned in a simple and intuitive way: three wheels, 4 screen navigation keys, joystick with center key, 7 perfectly set keys and other keys from fixed functions (each key can have two functions in practice, depending on the pressure time). Set from 1/16,000 to 30 minutes makes Bulb mode almost useless (beware, the display doesn't work very well with shooting times around 10 minutes up, to the point of becoming unusable). The fact that it reaches 30min - the top wheel of time that comes out of the house, makes it a very comfortable camera to use for long exposure photos! A currently negative point is found in the position of the screw thread at the bottom, too far to the side towards the screen which makes it incompatible with the Q Novoflex plates (for example), excellent instead the presence of a second hole for a pin so as to avoid rotation when in certain positions... there are very few compatible plates (Ark Swiss for Leica R). The best system remains to buy the RRS system. It's very good to operate via the Wi-Fi app, which is easy to connect and offers full access to your camera. Maximum operational distance of about 5m if you don't rely on existing Wi-Fi. It replaces the tilting viewfinder/screen very well. There is also GPS but for me a secondary element. The sensor far exceeds expectations, I find it is higher than my old Sony A7s (which despite age is still a reference point) which tends to a strong chromatic noise at high ISOs (while the SL noise remains neutral) and to have less detailed files in all situations (due to low resolution logically). Impressive dynamic range, you get to 50 iso shots in the backlight without going to do HDR (obviously the shot exposed correctly). Perfect battery! Good duration (to be an ML), especially if set correctly. Finally a battery easy to remove/put and also very fast! It is not symmetrical on any side and the absence of the door under speeds it all up, there is still an anti-fall system for when you extract (really well studied) " Excellent room jpeg, already offer a great starting point especially for those jobs where you need a good preview or/and you can/not have time to post produce later. Other small minor goodies that come to mind are the ability to set automatic minimum times based on the focus of the lens (those adapted only if the adapter has the data transmission, in that case they are also manually imported) and the ease of the menu despite being very complete . . . a camera that despite the age still has a lot to say, if taken at full price is not cheap but if used at a good price is still competitive at a good price. Despite being the first model made by Leica (4 years ago) almost nothing is missing (almost because it lacks the stabilization that is still comfortable). sent on January 08, 2019 |
![]() | Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 Pros: Small, no distortion, risolvenza already at room temperature (calculating the year of design) Cons: May not appeal to TA for haze, for those who demand perfection, colors than the darkest Leitz, suffers of flare Opinion: I use it on A7s. My model is fairly recent (I think of 1991). My copy is in excellent condition with lens hood, case, various caps. Let me start by saying that I don't have for a long time (more or less 4-6 months) so I might say something inaccurate. ------------At room temperature is a very difficult to use, as well as for focus (you are likely often to be wrong), but especially for the surrender. Photos at TA have a slight haze (I think it's the fault of spherical aberration), can like it or not but it's the "post production" which makes the lens automatically;-) that characteristic touch and "painterly", it's up to you to find the right picture on which to apply it;-) This doesn't happen more already closing at f/2, while the contrast is great to 2.8. Always at room temperature there is a strong vignetting that honestly I really like (if you want with modern sensors at the end is easily recoverable), but it is thanks to this that the lens vignetting is extremely small. The lens solves very well already at room temperature and the edge improves a lot by closing a couple of stops. By contrast the coma is very present, shooting with light spots in the corners at night becomes a disaster, at night you have to then pay attention or close the aperture by using it on a tripod, this way you will get excellent results. The colors are saturated and bright, but slightly tending toward yellowish. At f 5.6-f8 offers its best with excellent contrast, brilliance, determination. A purpose designed and perfect for black and white, especially on the film (although I am using it in color and on digital MrGreen with excellent results). I already weighed to replace it with the new FLE that for higher costs, would offer a higher quality and less disappointments already at room temperature. But adding an additional variable to take into account when taking (the goal) I found a great challenge, one must have a good knowledge of the target. Moreover, coming from the Nokton I felt already one step ahead optically. I think it's still the second objective that I use more often in recent months. -------Objectives with which it makes sense to do a comparison:---------------Voigtländer Nokton 35 f/1.4 Classic MC or SC (I own MC version)--------doesn't have the typical yield at room temperature of the summilux, has already at room temperature more macro contrast and is absent the sails. Makes it so much easier to use but against some optical defects which I find a bit more annoying as more distortion, less risolvenza is at the edges than in the Centre, higher contrast (SC version should have a lower contrast). Yield remains totally different, despite the aesthetic resembling fifths. The construction is very similar, almost identical (hard not to think that designers Cosina have vivisected a summilux to for inspiration). Here comes the pro that makes me prefer the Nokton at Summilux in certain situations ... you can put on and take off the plug without removing the hood ... home really annoying having to mount and unmount all the summilux-MS-Apoqualia-G 35 f/1.4 Optics------this is the smallest existing 35 1.4 (who knows), produced in limited edition. It will be difficult to see down the price of these products in used but given the limited supplies could prices could increase soon. ----For full review: https://www.juzaphoto.com/topic2.php?t=2361583&l=it&findpost=12657406----- sent on May 04, 2018 |
![]() | Sony A7s Pros: Image quality and high ISO- reduced draft - 12 mpx - capture one Cons: no BSI sensor (for some wide-angle lenses with reduced draft) - not at the top ergonomics and improved menu - always on screen - Lack native ISO below 100 Opinion: Introduction: The use especially with optics with Leica R and M attack with Novoflex adapter (all manual) and use the Lumix GX8 if I want a greater crop (in practice with the Tele and Macro). I will not comment size, image quality, native optical park, AF and video department because the network can find a lot of information or because they do not use those functions. I chose A7 between all this because that offering me a better ISO range, and the right amount of megapixel (as I wrote for crop use the GX8). I set up the machine with a time priority so as to set a minimum time for the objectives, the diaphragm imposed by the lens to suit my needs and I'll leave it all to the machine with automatic ISO (automatic set from 100 to 51,000 , the quality remains quite good), day minimum automatic ISO 100 ISO is a bit 'little, so maybe I would have sacrificed a bit high iso for 50 native ISO (ISO 25 or native + sensor stabilization .. .sarebbe l'ideal). Thanks to the few megapixel able to better manage certain goals with short focal designed for the film, a BSI sensor still improve by this aspect, making it almost perfect. The keys are well customizable, I really appreciate the C1 key position with the ability to zoom in to be able to better focus on the selected area (though before enlarge indeed there are many steps to do and everything is not so immediate), I would like the thread in the shutter button to shoot remotely "the old way" as in Fuji, ergonomics in general has been improved in the new version so no comment. The menu is a bit 'badly organized and poorly studied how to turn pages, too bad the lack intervalometer option, however great the possibility to add apps that expands a lot of possibilities (there is also a paid interval series) . Looking good in the menu, you encounter itlla of the shutter silent voice, the fact that it is completely electronic and does not emit the slightest noise can make stay a little disoriented but once used is very convenient in certain situations; remit the mechanical pull-down when I do portraits so as to "warn" the / the model / or when I shoot. Very annoying is it impossible to turn off the screen because it is annoying when you do the night, and because it consumes battery (which already does not last much). JPEG of the car are not the best (dull colors and at the same time burns bright colors), I as workflow except in Raw (preview in black and white to put in fire easily) and amount in C1 to have very good results (without further processing), I recommend anyone to download, while it is free for sony. Another thing they could improve without too much effort are the batteries, if there were asymmetric less chance to put them on the wrong side in the battery compartment;)All small things but they do, in my opinion, an incomplete product even if good sent on March 02, 2017 |
![]() | Voigtlander VM Nokton 35 mm f/1.4 MC Pros: Compactness, the same forms of Summilux pre-asph and building (the appearance is almost the same), brightness, strong timbre, price (compared to other 1.4 and Summilux), neutral colors, diaphragm 10 straight blades. Cons: Suffer from barrel distortion, vignetting very strong in f / 2 and Coma at full aperture is very strong. The sharpness in TA is not very good but improves with close to f / 2 aperture and the edge closing a little ', perhaps also because of the curvature of field. Flare with strong light sources directly, usually it occurs as a single circle (or a few more) that covers much or all of the frame and lowering the macrocontrasto.rnConsiglio to buy even the lens hood that is expensive but if you calculate that it is in metal ...
