![]() | Canon EF 17-40mm f/4.0 L USM Pros: sharpness and excellent color rendering, weight, solid construction, tropical flare resistance, value for money, awesome AF Cons: drop in quality at the edges Opinion: Good wide angle that covers a range of focal lengths that it can be used beyond the normal use of the wide, reaching to 40mm. The colors and sharpness are truly remarkable, it has a fast and accurate AF, is solid but well-built, ergonomic, lightweight and sealed, all at a reasonable price. There are at TA vignetting, distortion and aberrations, but in my opinion all the standard and easily correctable. The real flaw in my opinion is the quality at the edges at the widest apertures, closing cmq improves. Finally, a great lens that I recommend without any problems. sent on February 23, 2012 |
![]() | Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Pros: color rendition, sharpness, solid construction and tropical, the range of focal lengths quite compact, excellent stabilizer Cons: flare, vignetting at room temperature, a little 'soft at 105mm Opinion: Handyman with excellent color rendering and sharpness of high quality, professional construction and solid stabilizer that works very well and allows the use of slow shutter speeds with relative ease by hand. Suffers enough flare, this is its main flaw, must wear a hood. A TA has vignetting at 24 mm distorts and has a little 'abberazione color at all focal lengths, these defects cmq easily corrected with Digital Photo Professional or better with ACR / LR. Perfect lens for trips and excursions, on FF covers a range of focal lengths very interesting. If purchased in kit the quality / price ratio is really remarkable. sent on February 23, 2012 |
![]() | Canon 5D Mark II Pros: excellent resolution, color and perfect colors, engraved file and processed with ease, very good performance at high ISO, robustness and ergonomics, light weight, simple and intuitive menus Cons: autofocus older generation, burst slow, poor sealing, lack dual memory card slots Opinion: this is my first FF and I have to say that I am thrilled and satisfied, the image files are pulled out from this machine are really good at the retail level, color and dynamic range, up to 800 ISO the noise is practically absent, 1600 fully used, at 3200 you get to see a little 'chroma noise but the file remains everyway engraved and allows large print and large format without problems. Working RAW files from 5D2 is a pleasure. Coming from Nikon (before I had a D90) I immediately felt both as ergonomics as configuration and menu that I found simple and intuitive, while having everything you need. LCD screen bright and clear, excellent live view, has micro AF and manual focus in live view on enlarged details of 10x. Not having virtually never used the video function does not do any evaluation. The big drawback to this machine is sucuramente AF, only 9 points in which only the central cross, the only fully usable. I am not satisfied tropicalization, as reported in other reviews the machine is often dirty, viewfinder, mirror, pentaprism and especially sensor. For use with optical quality when used with optical mediocre the 5D2 highlights all limits. sent on February 23, 2012 |
![]() | Nikon AF-S DX 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED VR Pros: price, zoom range, good sharpness Cons: construction, brightness, slow AF, poor stabilizer, vignetting, and AC TA Opinion: For the price it is a good goal-rounder, good sharpness and color rendering, it is difficult to use in low light conditions due to the reduced brightness and the stabilizer is not very useful. the shorter focal distorts and Ta has vignetting and AC, all things cmq then corrected. The thing that I liked less than this is the construction quite plasticky, especially the bayonet plastic and not metal also comes a lot of dust from the lens front. As already mentioned, for the price that you can not expect more. sent on January 04, 2012 |
![]() | Tokina AT-X Pro 11-16mm f/2.8 DX Pros: Robust construction, brightness, sharpness, color rendering Cons: Flare, reduced focal length, shorter focal higher than other wide-angle lenses in the same price range Opinion: is definitely a great lens, whose main feature is the maximum aperture to 2.8 at all focal lengths, which makes it advisable for night photos and indoors. For landscapes suffer competition from Sigma, which have focal lengths start at 8 or 10mm and then a greater angle. Cmq sharpness is very good even if the corners lose some '. The colors are perfect, distortion on the norm for these focal lengths, has a little 'AC cmq easily corrected in PP. Solid construction and professional, equipped with hood and with the possibility of applying filters. The worst flaw is that it suffers heavily flare, do landscapes with backlighting, or even worse, with the sun on the frame is problematic. Finally, a very good goal, with a value for money in my opinion great! if you have un'aps-c and you like the picture at night or indoors even freehand is the wide angle for you. sent on January 04, 2012 |
![]() | Tokina AT-X 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 Pros: range of focal lengths, solid construction, weight (in relation to focal) Cons: does not have the AF motor, slow autofocus, high focal faint, if pointed downward zoom is extended involuntarily for the weight Opinion: was my first telephoto lens on Nikon D90, has a good range of focal lengths and good build quality, the quality optics complessivamete is not bad, the real limit of this lens is the autofocus, really too slow, and this makes it suitable only static subjects. Does not have the AF motor and therefore can be used in AF only with cameras that have the internal engine. The sharpness is OK, breakfast, start to expire focal higher. At all focal lengths show a little 'AC, cmq easily corrected and TA has a little' vignetting, just close to 1-2 stop to eliminate completely. With focal lengths that the weight is reduced, it is almost impossible to take cmq 400 mm by hand, if there was the stabilizer would be much better! Overall, with an objective honest, that at a relatively low price offers a range of focal lengths very interesting, with all its limitations. Great way to learn. sent on December 17, 2011 |
