![]() | Nikon Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S Pros: Optical quality, build quality, weight and compactness Cons: Price but in line with the competition, oled screen for my use I find it completely useless Opinion: I sold the 14-30mm S and the 20mm S to take this one, not to be able to follow too many lenses and have an ultimate lens. The optical quality is excellent, the construction beautiful massive despite the weight is very low. It is very sharp and honestly on the field I do not see differences with the 20 mm S in terms of sharpness, while compared to the 14-30 at the corners it is superior. It has a better flare seal than the already excellent 14-30 and a more beautiful light point. Zommando does not extend and is not collapsible, which as much as it reduces the bulk I always hated on 14-30. The third ring is very comfortable while the oled screen I find it useless, what's the use??? if I focus by hand I use the camera screen I certainly do not start to read the distances on the display ... Since there is the third ring I would have preferred to have had the mechanical focus ring and not by-wire, it does not convince me but it is so in all Z. They provide 2 hoods, well one would have been enough and in its place they could provide a case worthy of an optics of that price, instead I had to buy it on amazon (obviously they are subjective considerations, I do not use the hoods always using the plate filters). Finally, you can not put 82 mm filters as with 14-30 but with the NISI holder you can use 100mm plate filters (which cost less than the 112mm circular) and it pairs perfectly without passing a thread of light, so great! In short, it is a very good goal, which behaves exactly as a lens of that level should behave! sent on January 08, 2023 |
![]() | Nikon AF-S 35mm f/1.4 G ED Pros: blurred, colors, construction Cons: weight and a bit sharpness at TA, but they are details Opinion: It is an excellent lens, it has a very nice blur, it is made in japan, it returns files with natural colors, the sharpness at full aperture is not the best but it is forgiven. It is a lens that I have often put on sale with the idea of switching to 35 1.8 z, but then I have always withdrawn from sale because I like it too much even if together with the ftz it is heavy and bulky, it makes too beautiful photos even if probably the sharpness is lower than the Z version. sent on December 10, 2022 |

![]() | Venus Laowa 9mm f/5.6 FF RL Pros: stimulates creativity, angle of view, star points of light, compactness and weight Cons: basically none given the unique features of the lens, perhaps the price Opinion: It is a unique goal, the huge angle of view allows you to make very special compositions but should be used sparingly. It is very compact and relatively light, so you always carry it with you as a shot always escapes. It has a fairly marked vignetting but easily correctable, the star of the light points is very beautiful, in some angles it suffers from flare but nothing dramatic. The sharpness is very good in the center, on the sides it drops enough but it is the last of the thoughts as the perspective distortion is so high that it greatly stretches the image by splitting it, especially when the subjects are close to the corners. The drop in sharpness then takes a back seat as a problem, but it is more the fault of the physics than of the lens. The construction instead is excellent, all in metal, fluid rings, really well done. I recommend it sent on August 13, 2022 |
![]() | Fujifilm X-T30 Pros: Weight, size, aesthetics, ease of use, file quality, minimum shutter speed 1/32000 and maximum shutter speed up to 15min without having to use the bulb function, high iso seal and dynamic range (very good for an aps-c) Cons: not tropicalized Opinion: Taken to support the Nikon z6, and have a second compact camera (I preferred it to the nikon zfc for the greater compactness and because in any case I would not have used the nikon optics that I have as it would have failed the main reason why I took it, or the portability) excellent to carry it with you in bike rides or in challenging mountain rides where weight makes the difference or for the street. It is really an excellent camera, very intuitive to use, I shoot only in manual or aperture priority and I find it very comfortable and practical to use. The sensor has excellent performance to be an aps-c, the dynamic range is good, the recovery of shadows is detached by about one stop from the z6 (which is an FF) the seal at high iso also good even if for my kind of photo I always shoot at iso 100 (with fuji at iso160) and very rarely I arrive or go beyond iso 1600. As with Nikon I always shoot in raw by disabling all the corrections (high iso noise, long exposures etc.) the files must however be managed with the capture one software as the xtrans sensor and lightroom do not go hand in hand. I use / use it only with light and compact optics, and despite having quite large hands, I feel good about it, clearly I would not use it with heavy optics as it has zero grip and I would be obliged to buy the handle, which I will never do. It only has a memory slot but I do not find it a dramatic thing, instead a little more inconvenient the fact that the memory slot is located "in the battery compartment" and not at the side of the body. For my use and as a second body it is perfect, if I had wanted to take a fuji as the first body I would have gone xt-4 for tropicalization and greater grip (the sensor is the same), but at the moment as the first body I prefer the full format. I do not make considerations about the af as I mainly do landscape photos and therefore I do not need great performances. The only real flaw is the lack of tropicalization, so you have to be very careful with water and dust. sent on December 27, 2021 |
![]() | Nikon Z 85mm f/1.8 S Pros: Sharpness, absence of chromatic aberrations, very pleasant, fast bokeh Cons: minimums, all those common to almost all z objectives: bywire focus, made in china, case, price Opinion: Great goal! Pros: extraordinary sharpness already from t.a; chromatic aberrations almost non-existent; the bokeh I like and the maf is quite fast; the construction is mixed metal-plastic but it is well done; also great for astrophotos since it has practically zero coma. Cons: Made in China, but it is done well so amen; like almost all z the focus is by wire, convenient automatically, although it is perhaps too sensitive, but in manual mode the feeling you have I do not like (it is subjective); the case is indecent, it is an irrelevant detail but they could have tried harder; finally size and weight but well the quality is great so that's fine so sent on March 19, 2021 |
![]() | Rollei Rock Solid Gamma Carbon Pros: Weight, robustness, stiffness (I have the new version) Cons: spare parts Opinion: Taken as a replacement for the Manfrotto 190 xpro4, it weighs much less and is much stiffer and has more flow rate, made very well, otime finishes and also why not the design. Excellent tripod, the only drawback are the doubts about the availability of spare parts, in the case of manfrotto you will find all the parts that make up the tripod, in rollei's case I did not find a site or dedicated section, given the cost must be taken into account at the time of purchase also this aspect sent on February 26, 2021 |
![]() | Nikon Z 20mm f/1.8 S Pros: Sharpness, low coma, almost zero flares and ghosts, minimum focus distance Cons: Focus by wire, shameful case, and if we want price and size but justified by quality Opinion: Pros: Taken a few months ago to replace the Zeiss Distagon 21mm 2.8, which had in turn replaced the nikon 20mm 1.8G. Excellent sharpness already in ta, coma a ta really very contained (much better than G) flares and ghosts absent in any light condition (main reason why I sold the Zeiss), although it is a feature that I do not care about, lightning and silent focus, really great! The goals for Ml Nikon are really great. Cons: mixed plastic-metal construction decidedly better than the G, but the Zeiss is useless to turn around is superior, the Zeiss is another world. Made in China (too bad Nikon delocalizzi almost everything now, but the world goes like this). Manual focus by wire (like the whole z series) is convenient when working in autofocus since you have a third programmable ring, but when you work in manual focus the feeling I don't like (it's subjective), the light point star is similar to that of the 14-30 is not bad but it doesn't even drive you crazy , that of the G is better, finally, it is a, but the cases of Nikon Z objectives are indecent, they could make them pay 10€ more and make a case properly. In conclusion the optical quality is really formidable, super recommended, against there are but quite irrelevant. Happy to have taken it as a replacement for the Zeiss that as good as it was I could not digest it in the backlight (distagon 21mm + ftz+z6 give life to strong flares, they are incompatible with each other), instead for those who already own a 20mm G, it is superior in all respects but try it first and evaluate if the game is worth the candle, as both are excellent targets! Grade 10, case aside! sent on February 19, 2021 |
![]() | Zeiss ZE/ZF.2 Distagon T* 21mm f/2.8 Pros: Construction, sharpness, focus ring, cost if used, the pleasure it transmits you in using it! Cons: Flare and ghost, I don't know what it depends on, but on nikon z6 in the backlight my specimen is inusable Opinion: I do not dwell on the pros already listed by the other users where I found confirmation (build quality, sharpness, micro contrast, colors, using it is a real pleasure!). Small big mole there is my specimen on the nikon z6 with ftz adapter, in backlight it is inusable, ghost and flare present intrusively to all the diaphragms, make the shots completely inusable and to be binned (if you do not believe me you see the topic I opened), I do not know if it is the fault of the ftz, in any case it is the first time that I have to bin shots because of the lens , which never happened with nikon 20 afs 1.8g, nikon 18-35 af-s g and nikon 14-30s f4 and rarely with samyang 14mm 2.8. First adventure in Zeiss, first disappointment. Then all the other pros are there and make it a superb lens for all those non-backlight shots! (seeing other reviews online if even in a less marked way than my specimen, flare and above all ghost there is, I do not understand how no one noticed and emphasized the problem) excellent lens but far from being the perfection they say, defects also he has just understand them and know how to overcome them, then he should not defend himself with a sword because he is a Zeiss sent on August 20, 2020 |
![]() | Nikon Z 14-30mm f/4 S Pros: Sharpness, weight, compactness, screw filters Cons: nobody at the moment Opinion: Taken by very little and not yet tried to fully, but the first impression is great, starting from the fact that you can use 100mm slab filters, perfectly compatible with NISI v5 pro without vignette, excellent sharpness, weight and footprint really contained Flare, really minimal, the star in the backlight is not beautiful but not bad when I have tested it better I will update the comments sent on July 19, 2019 |
