![]() | Nikon 20-35mm f/2.8 D IF Pros: Construction, size, colors, general performance, robustness, aesthetics, simplicity,2.8 Cons: Flare, at the corners Opinion: I've been pointing it out for a while, trying to get as much info as possible about it. Unfortunately, it is not a famous lens and on the web the info is not many... Found used, but in very good condition at a very advantageous price. I liked it right away, because it covers excellent focal points for my needs. It's a 2.8. it does not have electronics that makes it delicate, in my view it is aesthetically beautiful, it is part of the VERI Nikon. It took me a while to appreciate it. As soon as I arrived, I was disappointed. The first pictures/evidence, it was a total crap!! Then I realized that the very swinging yield, was due to a slight Back Focus. After correcting, the optics changed character. At 2.8, the yield is good in the middle, but as soon as you deviate its sides, the definition drops a lot until you get to be almost nothing at the extreme edges and, above all, at the corners. From f4 you have, on the other hand, a marked improvement.... From 5.6 and up, it gets awesome. There are ACEs, which accentuate the problems to large openings, but just a click to solve the problem. Excellent the absence of distortion, which at 20mm is almost nothing. I really like his surrender. Soft tones and shadows never closed and the colors are quite faithful. The only defect absolutely impossible to tame, are the flares.... Unmanageable. If the sun enters the frame, they are all bitter zebedei, because the flares are there, there are many and they are well present. And ugly too!! The construction is great. Glass and (most) metal. There's no point in electronics, so there's nothing to break. The dials are well taken and the front lens does not protrude. It's not a modern optic, so that's it.... Except perfect. But it's part of those optics that had a character of their own. It has to be understood. And in any case, he absolutely knows how to deliver great results. Do I recommend it? Yes. Absolutely!! sent on March 19, 2020 |
![]() | Sigma AF 18-50mm f/2.8 EX DC Macro Pros: Construction,Robustness, definition, general yield, constant opening f2.8,blurred pleasant. Cons: On some occasions, there is little resistance to backlights. Focus a little noisy. Focus that rotates in AF. Opinion: Optical taken for "two lire" to be mounted on a Pentax K3. I didn't expect much, given the age of the project and knowing the past Sigma reliability. Well... I soon had to think again!! Used on a number of occasions and, really, never let me down. Almost certainly, I was lucky with this specimen, but the sharpness, the definition on the whole frame (even at TA), is really remarkable. The ACs, there are, but they're correctable. An 18mm hair of distortion, but nothing dramatic or unrecoverable. The zoom dial flows smoothly, without hinting. In landscape photos, it behaves well from f4 onwards. In portraits, 2.8 is really SUPERB. Details in large quantities and a really nice detachment of the floors. Generally, in the backlights, it does not create problems (I love to take portraits in the light of sunset), but I happened to take some landscape photos at a sunset and I noticed that in some image, or rather, in some angle, a very bad reflection appears impossible to correct. But given the age of the project and the cost, I think it's more than acceptable to have some compromise. The focus, well... it does not have an AF engine, so its speed and partly its silence, depend on the reflex on which it is used. Pentax, you know, certainly doesn't shine on the AF side, yet it's quite quiet and precise on all occasions. Even the most difficult ones, like a backlight or the like. On average, the percentage of shots lost is 2%. Like the other photographic systems I had previously (Canon,Nikon,Fuji) and used in a very similar way. The construction, it's solid. Robust. The only negative note,is the opaque coating, which personally, I do not like very much; gives me the impression that it "attracts" the dust. But maybe it's just suggestion. The weight, of course, is compared (for example) to a Fuji 18-55 2.8-4. But we're looking at a zoom optics f2.8 FIXED... Many builders don't know how to do much better. I mean, dated optics, sure. But definitely valid to replace the classic kit lens... and make an abysmal leap in quality, because with kit optics, nothing has to be shared (if not focal), as it is much superior. He plays it quietly with more emlasic optics. Honest dimensions; he's fine on a slad. Beautiful to see, fluid ghiere, great sharpness, blurred pleasant.... for that little money it costs, to have absolutely!! sent on September 16, 2019 |
![]() | Pentax K-3 Pros: Solidity, functions, detail, double SD slots, image quality, sensor stabilizer, top tropicalization Cons: In some situations of light rendered with some red/magenta tones,AF not precise to large openings Opinion: I write this review in the face of different experiences with different brands. I like to experiment,so in so many years,I had some of the best products Nikon,Canon,Fuji.... and now,Pentax. Made the transition from Fuji (fantastic)to Pentax with many doubts, given the comments always rather skeptical or even disparaging. To get started, I took a K5.... it ended that I found myself so good that I almost immediately made the switch to K3. I'm not afraid to say that the K3, is overall the best reflex apsc of those years. Its solidity is unparalleled. Fits with a brush in your hand and all the keys are at your fingertips. There is no lack of function and, indeed, it has unique ones! Simulation of the AA filter, stabilized sensor, catch-in-focus and many more. With 24mpx, there is no shortage of detail. Compared to the K5, the noise is noticed 1 or 2 Stop before, but beware: It is not in the least annoying and always remains better than many others, even recent. The AF is definitely better than the K5, it is more responsive, precise and fast, but with very bright optics, it does not always center the exact AF point, also has the "defect" common to many reflexes, to have the AF points a little too concentrated in the center , but in any case they cover the frame quite well for the different shooting needs. Let's come to the sore note... I happened to take pictures of magenta-colored flowers. Well, in this case I was grounded by the surrender..... well, yes, there are no other words to say it: terrifying. It's going to be light, I don't know... but it was all split. I will do further tests and I hope it is my mistake. There's also the false myth that Pentax has a poor lens set, but that's not exactly the case. Its bayonet K unchanged over time, makes it possible to use as many optics as imaginable... and the Catch-in-Focus feature, makes the focus very simple and perfect. Beware, however, because some vintage optics have a "poor" yield to TA and therefore the machine struggles to be as precise as AF. The stabilizer, works on any optics and also works well!! It lacks the orientable screen, but in my opinion it is not a flaw. It would have "weakened" a structure that is otherwise as solid as Thor's hammer! I mean, she's an incredible reflex. Pentax does not deserve to be considered inferior to the others, because it is not so at all. The K3, it's great in every way! sent on June 18, 2019 |
![]() | Fujifilm XF 56mm f/1.2 R Pros: Construction, aesthetics, perceived quality, sharpness, AF precision, creamy blurry Cons: Soft diaphragm ring, plastic lens hood. Opinion: I could summarize the whole review with one word: strepitoso.rnSi, because the 56 1.2, it is really amazing. Start by saying it is beautiful. Beauty, certainly does not help to make better pictures, but satisfies the eye and this is always nice! It is built well, like almost all Fuji optics; so "cold" metal so pleasant to touch. It's solid, and it feels. The ring of MaF has the right resistance, there are no games or strange noises and conveys a pleasant feeling of robustness.rnIo I find that it is very clear already from 1.2, provided you use it WELL and do not cannare the focus, but it is difficult because in any case it is very precise. Almost infallible. I read some who complain slowly ... I consider it more than "normal". But it is certainly not so slow that you miss a shot! Moreover, it is hard to find a PORTRAIT f1.2 optics that is also fast in the MaF as a 300 f2.8 ..... rnLo blurry ... here, yes. This & egravis; certainly his winning weapon and on which we find ourselves to "play" often and more than willingly! It is pleasant, soft, creamy, gradual, mellow ... really a drug! rnThere is a good job of lenses, in my opinion. The optic has a good contrast, but not excessive. It has very neutral shades (perhaps an excessive coat), without having any color cast. It reminds me a lot of Zeiss, in this. AC almost absent even in critical conditions. If I have to find him a defect, well ... I would say the hood. The aesthetic is not at all attractive ... but what is worse, is that it is made of plastic.rnIo I thought that in Fuji did not even know the meaning of the word "plastic" .... and instead! But it does its duty ..... even if it is difficult to understand whether it is about the lens hood or the goodness of the lens.rnParagonarla 90mm, in my opinion, is not entirely correct.rnSono two lenses to portrait, it is true. But they are different.rnOgnuna with a dear onettere! rnOttica to try at least one .... even better. sent on February 14, 2018 |
![]() | Canon 1D Mark II Pros: solidity, AF, operating speed, ergonomics Cons: useless screen, not immediate menu interface, resolution Opinion: And 'the second time that I have a Series 1 in our hands. The first time was a 1Ds mk2, which is aesthetically identical to questa.rnE 'a Series 1, so that, no compromise. Construction, strength, speed, battery life ... everything is at the top. It is not free from defects, sure. But they are considered defects only today, in 2017. But it comes to an SLR than 13 years ago ... and 13 years ago, 8Mpx resolution were more than enough for everything ... the screen that appears today was considered shockingly tiny instead manna from cielo.rnE 'a reflex that forces you to do more at the click attention. The screen does not help to tell if the photo is in focus or not. It serves right to look at the histogram to see if it is exposed correctly or not. The AF has no hesitation .. quickly and accurately. It requires a little patience and some evidence to set it properly according to your needs / preferences. Yesterday I took 237 photographs at a football game, and only 26 were out of focus. It seems to me a figure accepted6egrave; an accessory can not be eliminated. If you take a Series 1, you already know from before buying it often that you must address to a physical therapist. On the positive side, it is that it can also be used as a blunt instrument in case of attempted theft. sent on March 27, 2017 |
![]() | Fujifilm X-T1 Pros: Ergonomics, durability, lightness, sensor, features, ease of use Cons: life batteries, keys a little sunken. Opinion: A very good car fotografica.rnPotrei stop here ... for my needs, I find it simply excellent in almost all respects. The exploit more fully and has never let me down. Never missed a shot. Workable files and enormous potential ... pity that Adobe, is so determined not to consider the Xtrans a sensor worthy of attention, forcing us users to stunts to get the most out Fuji.rnL'unico system neo pretty sore, is the battery life. The X-T1, lasting very little ... It consumes as much as a Boeing 747 !!!!!! And if you use third-party batteries, yet last for less. Needless to set the machine at its best, thinking to save energy; it still consumes too much !! Unreliable the charge indicator that suddenly tells you battery and the next moment you find yourself with the machine switched off. Dead. Kaput! RnProblema that is not present on other models, such as the X-E2 I own, where the batteries (including third party) last much longer and the time lapse between the low battery warning scarica and the consequent shutdown of the machine is greater than or at least leave you time to even take a few pictures before dying completely. The joypad keys are slightly sunken ... On the one hand, it is good, so you do not inadvertently press, but become a bit laborious if you have to press while holding the eye in the viewfinder. The body is solid albeit slight, it is holding well and the buttons are so many, so as not having to dig deeply in to instant settings menu. A great sight, clear, complete, customizable and with which it easily takes confidence. rnScattare with a T1 (or a Fuji in the same segment ..), is disarmingly simple. It becomes really hard to go wrong a picture or wander exposure !! RNLA focus was (and is ..) in the spotlight for several reasons ... I come from SLRs like the D300, D700,5D2,5D3,6D. .. But the whole is slow Fuji, just I do not see it !! The yield / general behavior of FA, depends very much on opticsused, but the percentage of the shots lost for a wrong or not focus is equal to that of 5D2. AND IN ANY CASE, for as I see the difficulties you can only meet in unfavorable conditions for most of the AF systems. In any case, I shot with 35 1.4 to a race car, but the results went far beyond my expectations and photos "good" were 90% .rnCon latest optical and next-generation AF motors, problems are further reduced. 90 f2, for example, is incredibly accurate even in reduced difficili.rnPeso situations. How nice it is to go out for a photo walk without having huge backpacks and tendonitis wrist ?? Impagabile.rnInoltre, for the moment, Fuji is proving to be a big company, attentive to its customers and growing. Appreciated the update that was released months ago for the X-E2, that will leave more long life despite the exit of E2s.rnInsomma, the X-T1 is a really good camera, and recommend moltissimor. But buy yourself at least two batteries in more and original, not to stay dry !!! sent on September 27, 2016 |
![]() | Nikon AF-S 50mm f/1.8 G Pros: Aesthetic, af silent, always pleasing bokeh, contrast is not excessive Cons: Not excellent definition of format APSC Opinion: Returned recently in Nikon, I decided to buy this view after the positive reviews and beautiful pictures on this forum, but also in other siti.rnEsteticamente I like, and despite not follow the footprints solid construction of the "old" Nikon, not it can be said that it is "weakling". The aesthetic is very beautiful, I really like how all Nikon. The finishes are pleasant and the rubber seal, emphasizes a very careful attention to detail. The AF is handsome, fast and accurate, without hesitation. The ring of focus, it gives the feeling that "rub" plastic on plastic, but it is still quite fluid in motion. Always comfortable the presence of the distance scale. The contrast is not excessive and the colors quite faithful and neutral (provided you shoot in raw) .rnIl my copy, does not attach to the D300 I own nothing, because suffering from a very strong front focus, but is absent once mounted on other camera bodies, as D90, D700 and D610. I do not knowwhether to attribute the problem to reflex.rnLa optics or sharpness, of APSC it is not the best; 1.8 is not very clear and remains unchanged until f2.2 before improving to 2.8 up, but things change for the better once mounted sensors FF, where the overall performance, improve greatly !! rnMi would say that is a beautiful optics, but it is preferable to use it at full size in order to enjoy its pregi.rnA apart from some initial boredom due to front focus, is a perspective that deserves attention and you pull off shots consistently good! rnTuttavia, compared to many 50mm had in the past, this is certainly the most "difficult" to squeeze and to understand, alternating beautiful images in real porcherie.rnMeriterebbe always a second chance. I wish I could try another example to give a "judgment" more consono.rnDa not underestimate the good supply of "series": Hood well done and soft bag! sent on May 15, 2015 |
![]() | Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Pros: Versatility, construction, range of focal lengths, overall yield, af fast and accurate, reliable, Cons: Classic features to zoom handyman, but nothing significant and nothing that can be considered a "defect" real. Opinion: Abstract: Using this objective on Canon 6D.rnPrima to take this view, I waited, hesitated, I'm aware, I read opinions, I tried it more than once ... all this for at least three months. I think it was the lens that has struggled most of all to convince me to let her in my backpack. I am a "spoiled" with optical light, and in recent years, I had just fixed lenses bright. But to work, I need a zoom which was first of all reliable, durable and made good despite having a fairly wide range of focal lengths. The idea of ??being with a zoom and for more, "only" f4, I was frying. Well, now I had really no way to test it in a variety of situations, both working, both outputs "playful". Certainly, it has some intrinsic characteristic of the zoom-rounder, so the focal extreme, has some distortion (24mm) or just un'accenno decline of sharpness at 105mm, a bit of vignetting. But absolutely nothing so tragic as many describe. Very valid AF, who has never stoner a photo: precise andfast. Weight and size are good and still, always in line with other zoom in this range. Excellent construction, beautiful rugged! Transmits a lot of strength. The only drawback is the diaphragm f4 .... But do not consider it a failure at all. It would be like saying that the Ferrari 458 is a ciofeche, traveling less because of 599Gto. Absurd. The 24-105 is a zoom "travel", lightweight and compact size, a good zoom range and an overall yield very valuable, and it is not comparable to other lenses that have a purpose and characteristics very different. In my opinion, absolutely recommended. sent on December 10, 2014 |
![]() | Canon 6D Pros: Quality of raw files, weight, AF, construction, size Cons: If you really do have to look for one, I'd say the shutter speed "limited" to 1/4000 Opinion: I am a very "down to earth", I do not like bullshit technology like gps, wifi or controls noise / lights / shadows of any kind. For me, it might not even be on the menu, for me, it would not be a problem. I estimate the reflex with other parameters, to me, much more useful. I own this camera now for several months, has taken the place of the 5Dmk2 and although initially I was almost afraid of the choice made, I have to say that I am satisfied to 99%! In my photographic history, I have had many SLR bodies, before I was in Nikon and I had almost everything, including FF. Then, from the D700, I jumped back, and I entered the world with the Canon 5DOld. Well, today .. I can say that the 6D, is my favorite SLR. I use it in a myriad of situations, I always carry it with me, I'm doing sports photos, portraits, paesaggi..tutto! I'm not one that saves certainly !! Lately, I also happen to do some work, including weddings, rallies, marathons, baptisms, book ... and yet, the 6D seems to be unable to disappoint. Churns out excellent file and malleable even at high iso, many complain of sHarsha focus speed, especially to the side ... well, I use them ALL and I have never stray a picture, even in bad light conditions or with fast-moving subjects such as children, car, lemurs, bike downhill! ! The weight and size, you appreciate a lot if you have to hold for several hours or during a hike in the mountains ... It 's nice to come home in the evening without the sore wrist !! The keys on the body are essential, but there are those that I serve. The construction is solid, no creaking or tires you scollano. So .... I would buy another 1000 and would replace only with the 6DMk2, hoping that it remains the same philosophy !! If you just have to find the flaws, I would say that the weather "limited" to 1/4000 puts fear in those who use optical bright .... I have used with the 135 f2 f2 .. 35 .. 50 with 1.4 ... and I am a lover of the "tuttoaperto", and yet, even under strong light, the problems are minimal and never really been limiting !! Missing the key of the WB .. but personally, shooting in Auto WB, and if I have to fix it, I do it in PP. Well ... ineaunts, in my opinion. The SLR, it will not be perfect for everyone, but I think it's really good and who is not to be considered a "compromise". Absolutely recommended. sent on August 26, 2014 |
