![]() | Samyang AF 50mm f/1.4 FE II Pros: Light, sharp, unexpected overall performance Cons: It could manifest "difficulties" in dialogue with the camera body Opinion: I took it to replace the small zoom supplied in kit with the A7C, too dark for my needs to shoot mainly indoors. I had already owned several Samyangs in my previous Canon kit and I certainly regretted the extraordinary sharpness but certainly not the inconvenience of manual focusing, so in the search for an alternative to the small 28-60 I initially absentmindedly discarded this lens. Then driven by curiosity I went to read the features and when I found out it was an AF ... A whole new world opened up to me! Also enticed by the absolutely competitive price, I bought it in the blink of an eye. Mounted on the A7C, I started to put it to the whip in a variety of situations and was a bit perplexed when I started to see strange flashes of the AF indicators on the display. As is customary in these cases, turn off and on again... Quite disconsolate, I think I'll return it and mentally prepare myself to shell out about four times as much to "play it safe" by staying at Sony. But... After downloading the files to my PC, my jaw lowered and I couldn't close it anymore... A quality that is nothing short of crazy, a sharpness that yes I expected but not at these levels, an incredible color rendering! Other than giving it back, I'm holding it dear and tight! Let's add that it's nice and bulky but at the same time light, in short, I don't think I will take it off the car so easily! sent on May 28, 2024 |
![]() | Samyang 135mm f/2 ED UMC Pros: Construction, weight, lens hood, lens aperture, focus, fluidity nuts, sharpness Cons: the half hour needed to get used to the manual Opinion: A sumptuous lens. Nothing to envy the noble Canon 135 that I had and loved, but more than double the costs. Just tried it, the goal threw me and displaced, as I was accustomed to autofocus. But then ... it was like descending from modern fully electronic car that does not make you neither skid nor drifting, and hop on a car true, no frills, where everything is left to your control. Rediscover the pleasure of regular time and diaphragm, on 5DMarkIII there is not even the confirmation of focus, but my first thirty shots I've thrown away only a small part. Has an incredibly creamy focus, clarity than on a lens in this price range would be unimaginable. Obviously forget action photography, this is a peaceful purpose, possibly from portraits on the stand, bright and solid as a rock. The next purchase? Brother 100mm Macro. sent on July 21, 2016 |
![]() | Panasonic Lumix LX100 Pros: Design, Leica lens, connectivity, light weight, size sensor Cons: Poor resolution compared to standard, low resistance to flare Opinion: I always wanted a quality camera to always carry below without feeling the weight. After reading opinions, compared reviews, opinions heard and weighed the costs, in the end I chose the Lumix LX-100 because it is a good compromise between price and performance. Among the determining factors in my choice there were mainly the size of the sensor, where the 16 Mpxl (12.8 used) there are beautiful wide and comfortable; In fact, I am not convinced by the sensors 20 Mpxl crammed into one inch ... Coming from a kit SLR like me is not easy to enter the world of compact, where you have to play around a lot in the various menu items; once you understand the mechanisms of management, however, the Lumix has and offers everything you need to crank file of excellent quality, thanks to a lens of respect and a stabilization really effective. To my choice I disabled the digital zoom, which I always hated; also I am not interested in the video, so that I find "personalissimamente" function totally useless.I was not impressed however the ability to control the camera from the phone, through the dedicated app, it works well. There are also excellent filters on board (not all, in fact) that maybe do riparmiare time pp to those who love fun with it. The pleasing taste the various analog dials that help establish an immediate feeling and make it suitable for those who love to take pictures and not have it done by the machine. sent on September 10, 2015 |
![]() | Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Pros: versatility, portability, construction, stabilization, convenient for traveling light Cons: f / 4, out of focus Opinion: I possess recently, so far I managed to do without it for travel or trips outside is invaluable for not taking along all the equipment. I was expecting amazing things from him and he was afraid other terrifying from the shots so far made was surprised in both cases. The thing that disappointed me was the focus: nothing to do with the creaminess that I have used various 35-85 - 135, not to mention the brightness in comparison of which the 24-105 comes with broken bones in low-light situations, yes, you increase the ISO, the stabilizer helps, but for those accustomed to f/1.4 there is no story. The thing that surprised me instead piacevolissimamente is resistance to flare, indicated instead by many as the real Achilles heel of this perspective: the last specimens will be improved or I was lucky to stumble across a good copy? Even with the sun shot straight in the frame there is no shadow of halos, glare or colored circles, nothing at all! Slight vignetting and the distalersion, among other correctable with a few clicks. Overall mark: between 7:30 and 8. sent on January 08, 2014 |
