![]() | Jupiter 21M - 200mm f/4 Pros: Build quality, ridiculously priced, blurry, natural color rendering, soft and pleasant bokeh, integrated and retractable hood Cons: Weight, minimum focusing distance of 1.8 meters, no perspective correction Opinion: Tested and purchased for Nikon Z50, it immediately conveys a feeling of reliability. The metal body is massive, the integrated lens hood is comfortable and functional (even if a little small). The optical performance is amazing for a lens in this price range: paid less than 40 euros with original case and perfect lenses. At full aperture it offers good sharpness, closing the aperture becomes excellent. The colors are natural, slightly warm. I mainly use it to isolate elements such as statues, capitals, windows or decorations from a distance and urban photography from a distance (infinity focus works very well). With M42 adapter and program A it is perfect. After a while the weight is felt, the focus is smooth, with long travel. It's not ideal for moving subjects, and the minimum focusing distance of 1.8 meters is definitely a limit for close-up detail photos. Ultimately it's a lens that forces you to slow down, think about the shot, and enjoy the photographic process. I recommend it to those looking for a vintage telephoto lens with character, excellent performance at an affordable price. It's not perfect, but it has personality to spare. I forgot: it is mandatory to use the left hand to support the weight and avoid, over time, possible damage to the camera graft. sent on November 04, 2025 |
![]() | 7artisans APS-C 35mm f/1.4 Mark II Pros: All-metal, discreetly light, cheap but without losing quality Cons: It doesn't have a lens hood (but you can't want everything) Opinion: All metal with a truly remarkable quality/price ratio, recently purchased for my Z50 I must say that it really amazed me, fluid dials and good sharpness. At the moment, I didn't notice any flare. A 35mm at the purchase price of about 70 euros was, for me, a must have. Being a manual and therefore not having contacts for AF, I think it is superfluous to write pros and cons as these depend on a strictly subjective use. I can give you a piece of advice: given the price, buy it and try it. Rating 10 (value for money) sent on May 26, 2025 |
![]() | Nikon Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR Pros: Sharp at all focal lengths, lightweight, compact (fits in a jeans pocket) Cons: Too bad it's "only" a 16-50, so-so stabilizer Opinion: For my amateur use it is excellent: portability, lightness and compactness. It fits comfortably in a trouser pocket or jacket and with the nikon z50 it is a featherweight. Fast focusing on Z50; A sore point you can see a little bit of the micro blur, but for my use it is more than perfect. I would recommend it for amateur and therefore non-professional use. sent on March 29, 2025 |
![]() | Sony A350 Pros: Stabilized sensor, tilting LCD screen, it is a copper ... Cons: Slow and inaccurate AF, plenty of noise, heaviness (it's a boulder), not very bright viewfinder, poor videos Opinion: In my opinion, despite the flaws for amateur use and to start is more than enough. In natural light, it still offers acceptable image quality, although not comparable to modern DSLRs or mirrorless cameras. It can also serve as a backup camera in case of emergency, given the affordable price of used cars and the vastness of the lenses that can be used. Of course, its limitations make it less suitable for modern scenarios that require video, high ISO performance, or advanced connectivity. But, with a little creativity, it can still have its creative space. With dedicated macro lenses (e.g. the Sony 50mm f/2.8 macro), it can offer good results in terms of detail. sent on March 26, 2025 |
![]() | Nikon Z50 Pros: Lightweight, excellent grip, intuitive, image quality, excellent RAW Cons: Battery (you need at least one other compatible/original), FTZ adapter cost, lack of stabilizer Opinion: Bought in 2025 on offer for non-professional use, but amateur. With the 16-50 mm supplied, it's like traveling with a compact camera. Currently, at the time of writing the review, it seems that Viltrox is filling the shortage of competitively priced native Z mount lenses. The construction of the body and the controls are excellent for me, even aesthetically the camera body offers an excellent performance. The monitor is very readable, same thing for the viewfinder. The menus are packed with features. Considering that we are talking about a mid-segment mirrorless camera, I can only be satisfied. It's not tropicalized, but for my use it's more than fine. Note: the nikkor Z 50-250 mm once closed, has the bulk of a can of beer (and it is not little) and a non-existent weight. sent on March 26, 2025 |
