![]() | Sirui K30x Pros: Value for money, overall performance. Cons: Once tightened, it tends to "give way" slightly, which becomes evident at 400 mm if you want to chisel the composition; It is solved by aiming a little higher, to compensate for the "fall". Opinion: Purchased for the 5D4 - 100/400 f/4.5, 5.6 II or Sigma 70/200 f/2.8 and mounted on a tripod (also Sirui) 3213x. Overall I am satisfied with it, except for a slight "settling" at 400 mm but, lately, with a 100 mm MANTONA slide instead of the Sirui plate, the phenomenon seems more contained. Unfortunately, this involves a repositioning of the camera/lens assembly, because the slide facilitates weight distribution but, as the extension varies, everything must be recalibrated, otherwise it will become unbalanced. The rotations of the knobs are smooth, which gives a pleasant feeling of quality. The function to intervene on the clamping force of the head is useful, from everything and immediately to more nuanced. The surface is smooth and silky to the touch, pleasant I would say but with dry hands (personal case) it tends to slip. Hoping to have done something pleasing, I say goodbye. sent on March 06, 2024 |
![]() | Canon EOS R5 Pros: The density of the sensor allows cuts without excessively affecting the final quality - AF is always on point, especially in low light or in the presence of filters such as the ND 1000 Cons: Given the use I make of it and being a simple amateur photographer, nothing that prevented me from shooting as I would have liked. Opinion: I'm just an amateur photographer, so my opinion is not that of a professional. You could copy and paste the merits of my 5D4 and add to these a more advanced AF department, especially at night or in the presence of "dark" filters. With machines of this level, I think the limit is always represented by man and I am referring to myself. I like to take night photos or with dark filters and with the 5D4 I happen to resort to manual focus, enlarging the subject or waiting for the ok of the red dot in the viewfinder but with the R5 no, with "her" you compose the image, you set the shooting parameters and the automatic focus is always there. The ISO wheel is very comfortable, unlike the 5D4 where, if not from memory, it is difficult to adjust them without looking at it. I prefer the rubberized exterior finish to the same as the 5D4 because it seems more "fragile" to me; On the original powered handle, for example, a flap came off that I tried to glue. This is not the best camera in the segment but, at least personally, it is the most comfortable and reliable object I have ever owned. Obviously my 80D and 5D4 remain and will always remain with me but, with the tilt and at night the R5 cannot stay at home and in fact it does not stay there. Hoping that I have done something pleasing or useful, I greet everyone. sent on October 31, 2023 |
![]() | Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM Pros: Colors, brightness, price. Cons: From my point of view nobody, perhaps the hood and plastics, which I would have preferred of higher quality Opinion: I write this review but I consider myself a simple amateur photographer, so evaluate it in this sense. Bought years ago to replace the 18/55 "standard" at a cost that was, if I remember correctly, of 400/500 euros (new). It has been in the closet for a while also because (read above all) it is a lens for cameras equipped with APS-C sensor. Lately, however, having unworthily equipped myself with a Canon R5, I can use it because the camera adapts automatically, even if in fact it is like having (approximately) a 24/70 but still with f/2.8 aperture. The excursion and movement of the rings is fluid, perhaps a little too braked but I think it's better this way. The plastics are opaque and of not excellent quality but the object, as a whole, conveys a feeling of well-built. One thing that I also found on the 70/200 f/2.8 always Sigma, is the resistance to dust penetration internally. Bright and sharp, I don't think it looks bad on high-end cameras; Using the adapter, it is less unbalanced when mounted on a machine on the tripod, as it is shorter. sent on June 07, 2023 |
![]() | Sirui R-3213X Pros: Robustness, materials, easy to use, central column to further raise the camera. Cons: A strap is missing and (worse) the possibility of putting one, since there are no hooks on the bag, except for two small buttonholes that seem to me can not support the weight. For the rest, nothing else comes to mind. Opinion: I bought this tripod about a year ago and I use it for architecture photos (but not only). Combined with the Sirui K 30 head, it supports without hesitation the weight of the 5d4 and 100/400 f/5.6 combination, transmitting to its user a nice feeling of solidity and stability, which translates into total absence of fall anxiety. Like any level stand, it offers ample opening possibilities, as well as the possibility of replacing the feet (in rubber) with those in solid metal, very well made. Below, the usual hook, to stabilize the instrument even more, attaching the bag or backpack to it. Obviously it is equipped with a bubble and, on the one hand, also with a threaded hole to add Sirui or external accessories with the same thread. sent on March 13, 2023 |
![]() | Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM II Pros: Everything you could want from a lens - build quality, sharpness, autofocus Cons: To date, after two years, none, at least for the use I make of it Opinion: I bought this lens two years ago and it was money well spent. Used with the mono-foot, for architectural photos, it is a razor; It must be said that for this genre the shooting values are of absolute safety but, the stabilization, if corroborated also by a more solid support of the arms, makes it an instrument of great satisfaction. With "him" I never shoot freehand. The door on the hood is very comfortable, because lowering it allows you to rotate any circular filter. It is "cost" but, spread over the years, the economic outlay is amply repaid by the satisfactions that are derived from it. sent on February 09, 2023 |
