tamron_17-70_f2-8iii_vcTamron 17-70mm f/2.8 Di III-A VC RX D

Pros: Sharpness, focal range, stabilization

Cons: It has no extension block, certainly not reduced footprint but not exaggerated

Opinion: I was looking for a replacement for the 16-50 kit which obviously has many limitations. I discarded other lenses such as 16-70 F4 and the 18-105 F4 Sony because I found a lot of criticism both here and on other forums. Sony's 16-55 F2.8 is priced higher and lacks stabilization and a smaller focal length range. The sigma has the great advantage of compactness and price but even that I have not heard great praise. I must say that the Tamron has pleasantly surprised me in the yield and although it is not compact it offers a nice support partly compensating for the somewhat poor grip of my A6000. The photos seem very sharp to me. AF very fast, quiet and without breathing problems. Stabilization allows you to shoot freehand with times well below 1/100 if conditions allow. It has a diameter that it rests on an edge protruding below the camera. Problem solved with a specific slide that has in turn improved the grip, which I highly recommend. Another thing I miss is the zoom extension lock. I have never had problems, but I consider it a very ineffective thing on the price and final and of great comfort. It would have been perfect if it also had switches for AF/MF and to turn off stabilization, but you can't have it all.

sigma_30_f1-4dnSigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN C

Pros: Sharpness, brightness, blurred, price

Cons: I would say none

Opinion: Sometimes the AF goes a few forwards in the back but really minimal. I think it's due to a back engineering that can be improved but it has never limited me in use. I was impressed by its sharpness (since it is not an ART) and the quality of the photos. In my opinion it is a moment quality / price and I do not think I will ever get rid of it. In RAW there is no distortion but certainly the fixed ones are less affected. The blurry is very creamy and I love it. In low light conditions it behaves very well and even at full aperture it behaves very well.

sony_dt55-300Sony DT 55-300 mm f/4.5-5.6

Pros: Dimensions, weight, price (used), sharpness

Cons: Stabilization

Opinion: I took this lens as a replacement for the SEL55210. Obviously it needs an adapter and with the LA-EA2/4 it loses 1/3 stop due to the translucent. Unfortunately it is not stabilized and above 200mm you have to have a very firm hand or use a tripod to get very sharp shots. Despite these premises it is a lens that surprised me pleasantly. It has a nice color rendering, few distortions and from 55 to 200, and maybe beyond, you make beautiful photos even freehand. I thought of replacing it with the SEL75-350 in the future to gain stabilization and more possibilities in focusing but I'm afraid I'll struggle to part with it. The key for switching from AF-MF I find very convenient.

sony_e55-210Sony E 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 OSS

Pros: Stabilization, bulk, weight, cost

Cons: I would say brightness, but given the price you can not ask for more

Opinion: I consider it a fairly sharp and practical lens. The brightness is not his forte but on days with good light he also takes home some nice photos. Everything must be put in relation to the price, in my opinion for the price it has is not bad. If you want more in this range of focal lengths you have to put your hand to the wallet unless you use a-mount lenses with its adapter (and even so you risk spending more).

sony_16-50Sony E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS

Pros: Cost, bulk, bulk

Cons: Vignetting, distortions, brightness

Opinion: Taken in kit with the A6000, it allows you to photograph immediately if you do not already have lenses available. As soon as you compare it with other lenses, you immediately notice its limitations. In the hands it looks like a toy. In RAW format vignetting and distortions are more than evident. In the past the bodies were combined with the well-known fifties... they were not ZOOM but at least they were valid and you kept them for life. This is a lens, in my opinion, to be replaced as soon as you have the opportunity.
