The brightness of the environment also has a bit of an impact on the yield of the lens: in good light conditions, excellent shots come out, in low light or in the absence of contrast (grey or foggy sky) do not always come out decent shots, not even mounted on tripod. The fact that it is lack of light I do not consider it a flaw because it is a kit lens at the end of the day. after the first tests I was left with bitterness in the mouth, very little sharpness (in comparison the canon 55-250 stm looks like an L series) and chromatic aberrations that make it difficult to photograph small subjects in the backlight. After a few days of use you learn to use and appreciate it because it is not a lens to throw away. it's convenient to use, and as long as you don't exaggerate with the crop it has a decent yield. in conclusion if you find it under 200 euros is a must-have because in combination with 16-50 you are covered at all the focal points with very little expense and a lot of compactness. otherwise if you have a bigger budget bet on 18-135 mm or 70-200 f4 if you are ambitious EDIT: now the 70-350 that represents a quality alternative if you have a higher budget
