asahi_pentax_supertakumar35_f3-5Asahi Pentax Super-Takumar 35mm f/3.5

Pros: Price, colors, sizes, reliability.

Cons: MF (but is it a con?) ...

Opinion: Bought it for less than 50 euros after seeing the evidence on other sites and I have to say it's a great lens. Small, light and very performing. Mine is the Super Multi Coated version with M42 screw connection. Despite being older than me, it looks like new right out of the factory. Smooth MF, perfect aperture. Optics that will never leave you stranded. It's true, these vintage optics are addictive.

nikon_zfNikon Zf

Pros: Aesthetics

Cons: For now, nothing to report

Opinion: Taken 3 weeks ago let's say more out of curiosity than x actual need (I already own a D3x, a D850, a Df and a Sony Alpha 7r3) the first impression is that of a light camera, a bit plasticky and delicate, the Df in comparison seems more professional camera. The first photos taken (with manual lenses and adapter) are not bad and look identical to the other 4 digital cameras I already own) but we are only at the beginning of the ZF adventure. As soon as I got it I updated the firmware as the previous version was still installed. I immediately mounted the smallrig handle on it but I don't find the grip great (at least compared to the ones I already own). As a simple amateur photographer I really appreciate the toggle to switch from color photos, to BN and videos, super handy. What I find uncomfortable instead is the front right button (where the white adjustment appears), the position is very unlucky (at least for how I use it) and every time I press it involuntarily and I find it on the monitor (I'll see if I can exclude it). In such a camera, the image broken in the middle for focusing with manual lenses would have been very welcome. In a few days I get the FTZ 2 adapter taken used at a good price. Before bleeding further with Z lenses, let's see which ones I can take advantage of among the ones I already have. I reserve the right to update my impressions in a few months, as soon as I have become familiar with them.

nikon_d850Nikon D850

Pros: Simply spectacular

Cons: Which cons?

Opinion: Socket used with only 800 km, alongside the other 3 I own (D3x, D810 and the last, the Df) massacres them in all. Beyond the quality of the files, ergonomics etc. etc., what leaves you speechless is when you put the card in the PC and look at the results. If with the 3 listed above I had a fair percentage of blurred photos this does not miss a beat. At the Modena racetrack I will have taken 200 photos of a race of Lamborghini Huracan GT3 that are not really slow and while the car passed finger pressed and burst photos until I saw it far away. Zero (I say Zero) blurry photos. But how does he do it? Fantastic, absolutely fantastic. I do not know the mirrorless world but if someone is considering an upgrade from any other SLR to switch to the D850 do not be afraid ... This is truly from another planet.

nikon_dfNikon Df

Pros: Aesthetics, qualitatively satisfactory photos

Cons: For now nothing

Opinion: Socket (black) more for fun than for necessity (used but as new with about 27 thousand shots) I found in my hands something spectacular. Going around with the DF is something unique. He is 10 years old and the images he pulls out are the same as the other two Nikon I have (D3x and D810 that more or less, are from the same period so it's normal) but using the Df is more pleasant. I put a thin and very short strap on it and you hold it in your hand very comfortably. By default above there is mounted a Nikon af 1.8 50ino perfectly in sync with the philosophy of the Df and every now and then I mount some manual focus AI optics. The split image viewfinder (also as an option) would have been welcome. Oh, I forgot; with the DF it was love at first sight when I saw it for the first time in the hands of the American actor Jason Statham in the film Mechanic Resurrection ...

nikon_d3xNikon D3x

Pros: Super photos, a tank, focus almost always accurate, great colors and more than enough resolution

Cons: Lack of flash (whatever they say... sometimes you need), poorly defined LCD screen and colors off (but I lose it since it is now 15/16 years old)

Opinion: Taken alongside my D810 even if I did not really need it because this goes from god, I immediately found myself at ease despite the imposing bulk compared to the not small D810. I've had it for a month and it looks new, it has very few shots, less than 10 thousand and it is complete with everything. As a photographer I do not notice great differences between the two cameras as a final result, one is worth the other. The difference lies in the date, modern the D810, obsolete the D3x (screen, memory cards, few iso, maybe the lowest resolution, batteries, keys set differently etc. etc.) but perhaps this is its beauty.

nikon_d810Nikon D810

Pros: File quality, solid construction, key layout, perfect size, slots with two cards of different sizes

Cons: None, perhaps the lack of the adjustable display in some situations

Opinion: I come from a D750, a machine that on paper was supposed to be fabulous but that instead I found myself badly (3 calls, no less than 10 shots to get out a decent one) I finally broke down and after reading the comments I took (in note northern chain) this jewel that at the time, had only 1,600 shots to the credit and was practically new. I was amazed at the beauty of the photos I can pull out (I speak as a semi-evolved photoadamator). This machine makes you enjoy the pleasure of taking photos. Reading the comments I confirm that a more defined live view would help a lot in the verification of the focus (especially with manual optics) since enlarging an image does not have the perception of having set in focus perfectly. In essence: great machine.

nikon_af28-105dNikon AF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 D

Pros: Super optics, bright colors, fabulous boken, good focal hike, perfect focus

Cons: Don't take it before

Opinion: I own a D810, first I had over the recent Tamron 28/70 (first series) but I was not fully satisfied (in a short time it was filled with dust), then in the well-known chain of northern Italy I replaced it with a Sigma 24/35 Art but you want for the weight, or for the huge size, or for the narrow focal point (but I knew this before taking it) the feeling that maybe such an optics deserved did not start. Reading here and there I discover this perspective at the end of the 90s, I keep an eye on several European sites where it is proposed between 100 and 250 euros and in a few days all sold. I waited a few days, I find one in Spain, perfect at just over a 100ne and I took it. I think it is fabulous; light, macro, good hike, crisp and vibrant colors. My only fear is that, from today, because of this Nikon 90s/2000s, the huge, beautiful and very heavy Art will remain closed in the house ...
