![]() | Sigma FP L Pros: BKT Focus, Iso 6, Dynamic Range, Menu, Ease of Use, Noise Cons: Battery life, Ergonomics Opinion: A camera that I have always wanted to try and thanks to the collaboration I have with Sigma Italia I succeeded. I tested it as a landscaper and I must say that I was really satisfied with it. The camera is fun to use and churns out top-notch files. I don't think it is for everyone but certainly in the landscape it does well and without the accessory viewfinder I would see it well even in the hands of a street photographer, perhaps with a nice Sigma 24 mm. The ergonomics are not the best but otherwise it is ok, if I really had to find a defect for the use I made of it I would say the battery life. sent on March 16, 2025 |
![]() | Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG DN OS Sport Pros: Precise and fast AF, sharp even at full aperture, solid construction, focusing distance Cons: No particular note considering that at that price no0n you can find nothing of equal quality Opinion: I have been a testimonial for Sigma for a few months and I was given the 70-200 for review. To tell the truth I have just started testing it but I was able to immediately find the qualities described in the Pro section. I have been using Sigma for several years and I must say that I am fully satisfied. They are not very light to carry around but they have a general quality that makes me prefer them to original lenses. sent on August 11, 2024 |
![]() | Tamron 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD Pros: Weight and focal range Cons: Flaw of resolution but not too much Opinion: I have three kits and in the end I always go out with Tamron. The 17-28 and 28-200 are two lenses that allow you to travel light. Another strong point of the brand is that the lenses all have the same filter diameter. The 28-200 gives up something in terms of resolution but only perceptible during a direct confrontation with any other noble competitor. In a 50x70 print, you don't notice anything. sent on December 17, 2023 |
![]() | Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS C Pros: Superlative sharpness Cons: Absence of tripod mount and cost of the latter Opinion: Sharpness equal to the Sony 100-400 at f8 only that costs less than half. Tripod mount essential for landscape photography that I had to buy separately and at a decidedly excessive cost (150 euros). The only sore point: it suffers from the wind and even on a tripod it is not very stable. I find too high the attack that in most cases fails to cushion the micro vibrations. sent on February 27, 2023 |
![]() | Sony FE 70-200 f/4 G OSS Pros: Sharpness in the center, compactness. Cons: Loss of sharpness at the edges, at least my specimen. Opinion: All in all a good zoom even if with the focal one is better, like the "white" Canon L series that has a much higher sharpness. Like all Sony very expensive and frankly I can understand an f 2.8 but not an f 4. Now I don't have it anymore, I hope Sony will produce a more performing one because it is a focal length that a landscaper cannot do without. sent on April 02, 2022 |
![]() | Voigtlander Super Wide Heliar 15mm f/4.5 Pros: Sharpness and the pleasure of using optics that tastes of other times. Price Cons: None, since I also found a way to mount the Kase slab filters with the holder of the 100 series Opinion: Great optics, I can not find a flaw. Indeed, if I really have to, the star effect sometimes I would not want it to occur. A light, compact and sturdy optics that must not be missing in the bag of a landscaper. High flare resistance. I bought it because the 18 Batis sometimes has a not enough angle of view for my kind of shots. sent on March 29, 2022 |
![]() | Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Pros: Sharpness Cons: Evident barrel distortion not too easy to remove with Lr. Light vignetting. Opinion: A focal length that I am appreciating in the landscape in the presence of traditionally more used focal lengths, such as the 16-35. It performs well in most situations although the flaws I mentioned are quite obvious, at least as far as the lens in my possession is concerned. The sharpness is excellent and absolutely does not undergo diffraction even at rather closed apertures such as f 16. sent on March 29, 2022 |
