Pros: Compact, light, sharp, fluid.

Cons: If from 28mm f2.8 it had reached 280-300mm they would be bingo (if my grandmother had wheels ..)

Opinion: Given the reviews and more than anything else the photos I decided and I took it. It is practically an all-rounder without ever leaving a bitter taste in the mouth and, once you get the hang of it, it churns out portraits, landscapes, interiors and even a bit of macro that at 200mm I find it leveled to many lenses tried to date. Outdoors he is not afraid of blur, indoors even a mono-pod can be enough to make a good impression. The question is: what alternatively? I wouldn't know at that price, at that weight and at that result it offers. PS: it accepts extension tubes well but not so much the additional lenses.

Pros: Size, sharpness, versatility, value for money and versatility

Cons: Few for the type of lens

Opinion: Perfect optics for travel and beyond, for a superzoom it has a surprising quality. I use it on an a7III and in Af-c it works great, I photograph my children playing football and tennis and I find one photo out of focus on 20. Great colors and sharpness. Many compare it to the Sony 28-105, the latter is slightly better at the edges (but slightly lower in the center), so given the value for money and the focal range, I recommend the Tamron without any doubt

Pros: Versatility, size, focal range, brightness, minimum MF.

Cons: Edge rendering on FF

Opinion: A perspective that must absolutely be contextualized. I use it on APSC and I find it irreplaceable for travel and nature reportage. After a few months of use I can be very satisfied, a 42-300 f2.8-5.6 in just over 500gr and 11cm is absolutely amazing, considering that in the travel kit I also have the fantastic 11-20 f2.8 makes all the footprint almost incredible, with travel from 16mm to 300mm in total 850gr, maintaining an excellent general brightness. The minimum MF a couple of cm from the lens hood is a boost to creativity. The good optical performance cannot reach the level of lenses that weigh at least twice as much, while the AF stepper is powerful for general reportage, it loses something only in low light or at very small apertures. I consider the absences of VR, aperture ring, function keys, usb and other marginal frills positive and in line with the construction logic of the lens. The day they update it by adding all or some of these options, this version will become even more valuable. Unrivalled "Less is more" superzoom lens. Yet another Tamron genius that I find more apt on APSC than on FF.

Pros: Weight and focal range

Cons: Flaw of resolution but not too much

Opinion: I have three kits and in the end I always go out with Tamron. The 17-28 and 28-200 are two lenses that allow you to travel light. Another strong point of the brand is that the lenses all have the same filter diameter. The 28-200 gives up something in terms of resolution but only perceptible during a direct confrontation with any other noble competitor. In a 50x70 print, you don't notice anything.

Pros: all

Cons: Maybe the blurry one

Opinion: I bought the lens for travel with the A7c. Very sharp and precise. Low weight, combined with the 18mm samyang completes the equipment for light travel. I don't really understand why it only rated 8.8 I found it perfect for the cost, weight and sharpness. Of course, if it were all f2.8 it would be the top, but at what price?
