| | Fujifilm X-E5 Pros: Small and high quality feel Cons: cardslot : difficult to pull the card out. Opinion: This camera gives so much shooting fun! It's all about the shooting experience with the X-E5.Ergonomics is improved but an extra thumb rest is recommended. The extra features : aspect ratio , surround view and the film sims that can be dialed in. The sensor is well known from other cameras. The EVF and LCD quality is more than enough. The weight is not too high to be used as a quick and small street camera.IBIS is very good! sent on August 16, 2025 |
| | Fujifilm GFX100RF Pros: Small , can be used in one hand , excellent files , very nice shooting experience , battery life, nicely finished and engineered. Cons: perhaps the relative slower lens and expensive! Opinion: I have the camera in use now for 1 week and very satisfied with it. The biggest concern was the lack of IBIS.But can train yourself getting consistent sharpness results when using SS of 1/50 or 1/60. Some manage to get sharp images when slower SS are used. I now realise that the concept (compact size AND practical usability) is a success. The lack of IBIS is not such a problem: after all , when the subject you take photos off , is moving and it usually does , even slower SS would be useless. The leaf shutter helps a lot here. The fact that the camera is not too small , helps holding it steady! We all know the great characteristics of the GFX lines , so no complaint here! The lens is harp at all distances and is comparable with the GF 32-64 at F4 The crop, aspect and film sims in one hand camera might sound useless , but the user experience is the best i had since many years! Expensive for sure but you get what you pay for! sent on April 12, 2025 |
| | Nikon Z 35mm f/1.2 S Pros: Sharp wide open , dreamy bokeh , splendid colours.Fast AF Cons: big lens but doesn't bother me Opinion: The lens renders nicely with splendid colours. The bokeh is very nice.It follows the characteristics of the other 1.2 S lenses from Nikon.Almost no barrel distortion.Flare control is superb. The lens AF is very fast : did some testing on running dogs towards me and the lens didn't hesitate wide open , and all shots are sharp on the eyeball! Well done Nikon! sent on March 01, 2025 |
| | Nikon Z 35mm f/1.4 Pros: Compact, not intrusive , rendering and function ring Cons: AF is is a bit slower than expected , but fast enough for street! Opinion: While I was a bit sceptical on the 1.4 Z nikkor that recently hit the shelves , just shooting them gave ma another idea : nice classic rendering , affordable , sharpness surprised me as being sharper than my Nikkor 35/1.4 AF-S (which was triple the price 10 years ago).Beautiful colours and overal beauty of the generated images.Bokeh is a matter of taste for sure , but OOF rendering is very nice.I think Nikon did a nice job here! sent on January 18, 2025 |
