![]() | OM System OM-1 II Pros: Great camera, great ergonomics, image quality, computational functions Cons: Price Opinion: Purchased to support (first) and replace (then) my Lumix S9. Although the S9 had excellent image quality and a small body, on full-frame it is the lenses, especially if zoomed, that nullify any dimensional advantage of the camera. The OM-1 Mark II guarantees a fantastic grip, a small size with the 12-40 f2.8 in a perfectly balanced body that is a pleasure to use. I didn't have any problems in low light or bokeh, things that are typically highly criticized in the micro4/3 format. You obviously have to know what you use and how to use it to make it perform at its best, but understood this is truly a camera lady. The build quality is incredible, the ergonomics are incredible, the computational functions are fantastic and the high res with 14-bit raw allows recoveries absolutely comparable to the full frame I used before. If I had to complain about one thing it would be the price, however quite high and with the OM-3 that guarantees a use comparable to a lower price (but with worse ergonomics) or the G9 II (but without computational functions and with a clumsy camera body for the micro4/3). sent on October 01, 2025 |
![]() | Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 DG DN C Pros: Weight, build quality, image quality, overall size, good focal length range Cons: Lack of stabilization, dubious tropicalization, absence of the aperture ring Opinion: Excellent zoom almost everything does given the focal ranges, very close in optical quality to 24-70 or 28-105 without being as huge. I think that for a small camera like my Lumix S9 (or the original Sigma fp/fp-l/bf) it is the best before it becomes frankly uncomfortable to shoot with it (and we are already close to the limit). The quality is excellent at all focal lengths and at all apertures, if taken in L-mount there are no distortion problems. It extends but not too much, in case of travel excellent as the only lens to carry with you. Expensive but in the second-hand market you are starting to find it at reasonable prices ( sent on September 13, 2025 |
![]() | Panasonic S9 Pros: Portability, ease of adapting vintage lenses, ease of use, quality of JPEGs directly from the camera, autonomy. Cons: Lack of viewfinder and mechanical shutter. Opinion: A great camera (at least I use it for that) that also makes excellent videos. It returns beautiful images already in JPEG SOOC, but you can also have fun on RAW. The screen is excellent and the manual focus aid works very well, you feel the lack of a viewfinder in situations of very strong direct light, but apart from that you can do everything well as the screen is completely articulated. I recommend it for those who want a camera really to carry around without sacrificing FF, hard to ask for more at this price! With vintage/adapted optics by inserting the focal length of the lens it is possible to take advantage of the stabilization of the sensor, a great thing! sent on August 08, 2025 |
