Pros: Size and weight - Nice and usable LUTs - Solid AF - Open gate and other gadgets for videographers - Wide customization of the menu

Cons: Absences: viewfinder, electronic shutter, tropicalization, double slot - L-mount lenses that send portability to the cellar (excluding Sigma C) - global rendering of the file not "wow" - plasticity at the highest levels

Opinion: *disclaimer: opinion purely aimed at considering this S9 as a travel camera* Purchased at the beginning of summer thinking it would have been the definitive travel machine, instead... I outlined pros and cons above: in general, the feeling that this S9 gave me is that of a project that was not fully developed (who knows, maybe with a future mark II they will bring out what this should already have been). The famous absences impact some more than others: viewfinder and tropicalization much more than electronic shutter and double slot, for my needs. A big Achilles heel for a type of camera like this is the lens park: lenses that are too large on such a skimpy body (apart from Sigma's valid Contemporary). Video sector (they say) at the top, like all Panasonics; but I photograph, so it didn't affect me much. Considering the amount requested (paid, discounted, 1250 euros with the 20-60mm), I would say final grade 6.5: recommended as long as you fall precisely within the most suitable case of use for this product (and with specific lenses: dream of a 24-105 but also very bright fixed lenses)

Pros: Quality of the files in relation to the cost of the machine. Size/portability for a FF. Custom Leica Monochrome function. High Definition function 96 Mp. Lut (for those who use them).

Cons: Plasticky, no viewfinder. Complicated menu. Instruction manual not very useful and cumbersome.

Opinion: I use Leica M11 with M lenses. I took an S9 as a second FF body. Tested with M lenses I find no difference in terms of detail, micro contrast, color and overall performance between the files of the M11 and those of the S9 even with considerable magnifications. Probably the M lenses reduce the differences between the 2 sensors to imperceptible details. I'll try with non-Leica lenses. I don't make videos and therefore I can't express opinions on this. The menu is incomprehensible and the instruction manual even worse, but I have set only what I need in the photo section leaving out the rest. The files you get are splendid. The rest (especially user experience) is modest. If you take care of the matter (image quality) at an advantageous price, it will be difficult to find better in the FF segment. Vote 9.

Pros: Full frame, portability, compactness

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: I added it to my Micro 4/3 kit to use it with the 28-200 on trips and for everyday use with the 20-60 supplied. I didn't put the lack of the viewfinder against it because it's clear that if you want compactness, you have to file something. Those who buy it already know what limitations they face. I needed some time to adjust to shooting without the viewfinder, but now I use it with ease and speed. jpg files are in themselves excellent even with the use of LUTs and RAW allow important recoveries. I am satisfied with the purchase and I evaluate it positively overall. In addition, the lens park is large, even if personally I do not feel the need, not using it for specific jobs.

Pros: Portability, ease of adapting vintage lenses, ease of use, quality of JPEGs directly from the camera, autonomy.

Cons: Lack of viewfinder and mechanical shutter.

Opinion: A great camera (at least I use it for that) that also makes excellent videos. It returns beautiful images already in JPEG SOOC, but you can also have fun on RAW. The screen is excellent and the manual focus aid works very well, you feel the lack of a viewfinder in situations of very strong direct light, but apart from that you can do everything well as the screen is completely articulated. I recommend it for those who want a camera really to carry around without sacrificing FF, hard to ask for more at this price! With vintage/adapted optics by inserting the focal length of the lens it is possible to take advantage of the stabilization of the sensor, a great thing!

Pros: Sensor, AF, compactness, touch, LUT app

Cons: Slow first start-up

Opinion: Taken as a travel camera and for mountain outings. I keep it hanging from the shoulder strap of my backpack, always ready to shoot; amazing sensor, exceptional shadow recovery and great detail even with the 20-60 kit. Honestly I don't miss the viewfinder because the display is great, I find ridiculous those who criticize for taking sides (see first comment). The app for LUTs is really well done and constantly updated, the AF is also excellent, reactive in recognizing face and eyes (however not yet up to Sony's level).
