![]() | Voigtlander (VM, E) 40mm f/2.8 Heliar Pros: Compactness, lightness, sharpness and quality Cons: Manual focus Opinion: Exceptional lens, incredibly sharp at all openings, very well resistant to flares, with all-metal structure, which gives an excellent feeling during use. On Sony you need to have the Close Focus VM-E adapter (preferably the original). The lens is completely manual and accurate focusing is always necessary to have the highest possible sharpness, also the aperture ring has no shots and you have to be careful every time. I must say that shooting with this lens gives a fantastic feeling, which normally we are no longer used to with all possible automatisms. sent on September 29, 2023 |
![]() | Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS Pros: Focal range, sharpness, construction Cons: Weight, size, low light AF Opinion: An excellent "all-rounder" lens, very well built, robust and with a very high sharpness, even on bodies with many MP. When you want (or must) travel light allows you to range from a wide-angle focal length to a medium-telephoto one, with a single lens, moreover with constant Aperture F4. When the light goes down clearly it is more difficult and you have to raise the iso, or use tripod, but I don't see it as a big problem. The AF and stabilizer work well, although being F4 it may struggle to focus when the light goes down. It is not a small and light lens, so it could unbalance the freehand camera a bit, especially at maximum focal length as the barrel extends a few cm; Surely fitting an additional grip on the car greatly improves the overall feeling. A lens with excellent compromises but that maintains a very high overall quality. sent on September 19, 2023 |
![]() | Sony FE 12-24mm f/2.8 GM Pros: Sharpness, excellent construction, optical quality Cons: Cost, obligation of rear filters or 150mm plates Opinion: Exceptional lens from every point of view, very sharp already at f2.8, both at 12mm and 24mm, faithful colors and excellent contrasts. In my opinion it gives the best of itself on the machines of series R (RIV - RV), with many mp, managing to capture remarkable details. Considering the extreme focal length it is not even too large and heavy (remember that it is f2.8!). The front lens is very rounded and at 12mm it extends a little outwards and despite being protected by a small fixed hood you have to be careful. Unfortunately it is not possible to mount screw filters and you have to orient yourself compulsorily towards the rear filters (not really a walk to put every time) or 150mm plates (huge and expensive). Surely the cost is very high, but we are talking about a GMaster optics, or the non plus ultra of Sony, to have absolutely, especially in the landscape. sent on September 17, 2023 |
