![]() | Panasonic Leica 100-400mm f/4.0-6.3 ASPH OIS Pros: 800 mm equivalent to a fair price, excellent perceived build quality, excellent image quality; minimum focus distance that also allows close up Cons: A little dark... 6.3, autofocus every now and then struggles to hook at 400mm Opinion: I bought this 800mm equivalent zoom for my OM DE 10II, enticed precisely by the focal and affordable price. The first thing that has come to my eye is the quality of the materials, robust although light and compact. It has a very good image quality for what are the pretensions, as on the other hand all the other m43 goals (Olympus). If it had been brighter it would have been the top but I know it would not be logical to expect it at these prices. It allows me to take naturalistic freehand photos like I shot with the 70-200 Canon. Also excellent the minimum distance of focus that if I remember badly is just over the meter: it gives the possibility to do not say macro, but good close up. I'd buy it back and recommend it. sent on March 09, 2020 |
![]() | Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f/4-5.6 R Pros: Good value for money Cons: Plastic; dive slow manual focus Opinion: Bought at 150 euros to complete a kit for the Olympus OMDE10II I did not have many expectations, given the price and reviews. With this system I am not looking for the highest quality, only lightness and portability and I have to say that I got what I was looking for. For me the only negative note is the slow manual focus dial, in the sense that you have to turn a lot, you have to move a lot, it is not direct. For the rest, like plasticity, the toy effect, I do not consider them defects but characteristics that given the price I can not twist the nose. sent on December 21, 2019 |
![]() | Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0 L USM Pros: Value for money, sharpness, colors Cons: Lack of l-bracket Opinion: Bought a twelve year ago because I thought I would take pictures of butterflies and birds (I was a boy...) I use now with the 24-70 f4 as a "generalist" lens for the landscape, but not only. As soon as I bought it immediately struck me for the colors and sharpness: accustomed to the lens of the kit opened my heart, it was beautiful. Honestly the only flaw I can find him and not having had the L bracket supplied: ok it is not heavy, but in short it was fine. I bought it separately. sent on November 21, 2019 |
![]() | Manfrotto 410 Pros: Solid, precise, great value for money Cons: Mounted on Manfrotto 190Xprob3 does not recline at 180 degrees when the central column is out at 90 degrees Opinion: A good head, feels beautiful heavy and stable, precise, fluid and non-hard adjustment knobs, excellent fast mechanism that allows adjustments on the axes bypassing the precision one. Great for macros, for still life but also for the landscape. The only sore note is the impossibility (or at least failed to me) to recumse it so that the lens is on the same axis as the central column once extracted at 90 degrees, I was able to do it only by turning the machine backwards on the plate : The result is that the position of the knob is completely reversed compared to normal sent on November 13, 2019 |
![]() | Rollei Lion Rock 30 Carbon Pros: Lightness, value for money Cons: For now, no one Opinion: Having purchased with great satisfaction a couple of Rollei tripods (for macro use and as non-orthodox static for flash) I thought of this brand when I needed a tripod that promised great stability and that did not have the power plant. It was just what I was looking for: reasonably compact from closed, weight similar to other eplatounded brands, right height with legs completely out. I took the mark II version: the price at which I bought it is about 300 euros less than that of the card, and it is precisely the price that made me lean for this as an alternative to tripods of another brand. sent on November 01, 2019 |
![]() | Manfrotto MH494-BH Pros: He does his job Cons: I can't find user frelndly the clutch integrated into the knob that handles the sphere Opinion: Purchased as a replacement for a Rollei ballhead with which I was not in tune, I mounted it on a tripod on which I mount medium-weight equipment. I am satisfied with the work that it does and for which I bought it, it does not make me crazy the clutch of the knob that manages the sphere, integrated with the knob itself. I would have preferred them to be two detached systems: each time I have to act on both because rotating the knob moves the clutch. sent on October 17, 2019 |
