![]() | Canon PowerShot SX620 HS Pros: It is about the size of a pack of cigarettes but does not seriously harm your health, quite the contrary!! If you use it in daylight, it gives excellent results! Even comparable to those of professional cameras (in my galleries there are photos of the same subject taken by this camera and a Nikon D810 ... I may be poor, but if they don't zoom in much, the difference doesn't seem significant to me). Very high zoom but not stabilized. It weighs as much as a mobile phone but takes better photos than, for example, an iPhone 11 (at least when shooting in adequate light). The battery lasts quite long It has wifi connection the controls are quite easy to use Menus and settings are quite easy to use although not as intuitive Cons: In low light the photos are definitely ugly. The file is jpg only It is not very fast in storing photos but maybe it also depends on the SD card with which I use it In this as in all the other machines I have I can't activate and use the wifi Opinion: Given the size and the possibility of choosing the framing thanks to a 25x optical zoom, it is practically an object that a photographer should always have in his pocket. I haven't tried to use it to make videos Surely today the video standard of the most recent compacts is better, it also has only one microphone but of course it is not a camera for bloggers sent on April 25, 2024 |
![]() | Nikon AF 28-100mm f/3.5-5.6 G Pros: very light - super cheap - (unless you buy it on RCE where it can cost even € 110) Cons: Lightweight! :D because all plastic! I had the impression of a slight green cast on identical photos taken with the nikon af 50 mm 1.8 D Opinion: I bought it a bit by chance together with its F75 body at the "ridiculous" price of € 25 (both body and optics!); having nothing else I used it nothing less than on a D810 and it fully held up the comparison with the nikon af 50 mm 1.8 D (apart from the impression of dominant green mentioned above). I even compared it to the Sigma 24mm ART 1.4 and it didn't deserve it but I'm a very poor photographer so I don't think I was able to test it in the right way. In my galleries there are several photos made just for testing with this lens and with D200 and D7200 as well as with the D810, but I fear that my ignorance of photographic technique makes them not significant. sent on March 05, 2023 |
![]() | Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM Pros: Sharp, beautiful colors, stabilized, super easy to use! Internal autofocus, so also suitable for entry level bodies. It is used at a reasonable price (about 250 euros). It also performs well on an FX (at least judging by the results it gave on my D810) Cons: For me no one Opinion: A lens with which I immediately found the feeling. I use it on D200, D720, D810. I did a lot of tests and comparisons filling my galleries with quite insignificant test photos. It's the lens I feel best with. It easily brings out the best from all the cameras I've used it with. In my galleries there are various comparison tests made using this lens with my camera bodies. A good photographer would surely get better results and would know how to make the most of both the bodies and the optics I use. But for those like me who live photography as a relaxing pastime this lens seems ideal for its ease of use. I did not give 10 just because I do not consider myself sufficiently experienced and I did not want to inflate the result with my vote. sent on December 18, 2022 |
![]() | Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Pros: Very good resolution and color rendering Cons: For me, as an irremediably amateur photographer, it is very difficult to exploit. I have a D200, a D7200, and a D810. Tried on all but with fluctuating results: sometimes very good other times worse for example than those I get easily with the sigma 24-50 2.8 HSM Opinion: Given the price, it seems to me that it is a suitable optics for those who are experienced and have a way to manage its qualities. I'll try it a little more intensively in streetphoto, but I'm really tempted to sell it to replace it with a quality 28-70 sigma suitable for the D810. I have not done it yet because I would not like to spend a figure and find myself with a lens equal to or slightly better than the aforementioned Sigma 17-50 which, on the D810 despite being a DX optics, gives very satisfactory results for me. I understand that the opinion of a mediocre amateur like me is to be taken with springs, but this review is aimed at many other amateurs who perhaps hope to make a qualitative leap using renowned and emblazoned optics. My experience, for what it can count, is that if you do not have sufficient technical skills, it is better to try with the help of some friends or a shopkeeper available the lenses you would like to buy and choose those with which you can quickly find the right feeling. Rce Palermo, for example, has a lot of patience and lets you do many tests before buying. sent on December 18, 2022 |
![]() | Sigma AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG APO Macro Pros: It is found at derisory prices, robust construction, acceptable definition, as far as I understand. Cons: maximum aperture 4, the macro complicated to set. Sometimes "reflective" autofocus :) My version, marked with the letter D (not DG!), needs bodies equipped with an internal autofocus motor. Opinion: in fact I would be reviewing an older model marked only by D and not DG. I would be curious to see if anyone knows him and if he knows what the differences are compared to the DG. I use it mainly with a D200 and the exif data identify it as DG, but on the barrel there is written only D and the aesthetics is definitely different from DG of decidedly newer appearance I wanted to replace it with a Nikkor af-s 18-300 3.5-6.3, bought as a handyman optic for my other digital D7200. But I decided to keep it since at 300 with the sigma at the moment I get sharper images. P.S. In fact, rce also confuses the two models: https://www.rcefoto.com/usato/rce-foto-ravenna-via-cesarea-138/prodotto/011DOBNK0000163636/sigma-af-70-300mm-f-4-5-6-dg-apo-macro-2/ in the photo of the ad even missing the D that is present in mine. Dunno! sent on September 01, 2022 |
![]() | Nikon AF-S DX 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 G VR II Pros: For what it's worth my opinion as an inexperienced I find that it is very light, very small, good VR. It seems sharp but as I said I do not have enough experience Cons: The plastic bayonet!!! What a horror!!! Opinion: I just bought it to use with a D200. Compared to the camera body it is very small!!! Previously I used the D200 with a 24 mm that becomes 36 and with a 28/100 zoom borrowed from an F75. Compared to those goals it seems better to me, at least because the stabilizer helps me to avoid the move. Bought at 80€ in very good condition (a bit expensive I'm afraid). I would not mind if someone more experienced told me if I made a useless purchase or if good or bad this optics can adapt to the D200 for "generic" photos (street, panoramas, monuments, portraits, birthdays ...) I do not do much else?. sent on January 22, 2022 |
![]() | Sony A5100 Pros: Very handy, I only took a few photos in iauto mode and with fine resolution and it seems to me that sensor and optics are quite good, reasonable price (300th new). That little photographic technique that I possess comes from the use of a Bronica etrs (4.5/6) in cockpit on which I loved to compose the image!!! The lcd viewfinder seems acceptable to me. I can go back to taking pictures by holding the car in a thousand different positions! And not just attached to the eye anymore!!! Cons: Optical a bit rough as construction. Opinion: I did not have much time to use it I could check the use with Nikon and m42 adapter rings. You can use it quite well Exposes correctly without any problems With any goal: I tried with various Nikons including a wonderful 50mm 1.4 of the 70s, various helios And also a sigma 70 200 x Nikon dx I can not understand instead the rendering of the zoom in kit I use the original SW Sony to manage the Raw But obviously I will have to learn starting fromThe ABC because I get bad results Yet with the NEFs of my Nikon D200 I can combine something decent. By the way my PC with Windows 10 is a sloth. On Ubuntu I do not find SW specific For the moment I will shoot in RAW-JPG format sent on December 09, 2019 |
