![]() | Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM II Pros: Zoom, Weight, Stabilizer Cons: Image quality not excellent, Stabilizer not excellent in the 4 stops declared Opinion: Lens rented for 4 days in conjunction with the 135mm 2.0 L to evaluate the purchase of a telephoto lens. I was surprised by the weight and softness of the zoom. It's definitely a good goal, but it's not for me. The model I rented (mounted on a 5d Mark III) lost so much image quality from 100mm upwards, which made it almost unusable. Good stabilizer in the first focal lengths, then almost non-existent (always in my model). Good speed, although not a splinter. Lens that I recommend but bearing in mind that (in my opinion) you give up image quality. It depends on what one shoots with telephoto lenses and at which length he shoots more! sent on July 28, 2023 |
![]() | Canon EF 135mm f/2.0 L USM Pros: Image quality, f2, L series, Built-in hood, Fixed lens. Cons: Unstabilized, "high" fire distance. Opinion: Lens purchased a few months ago after trying other telephoto lenses (70-200 f4, 70-300). I fell in love with it immediately. Lens "of other times". It makes you go back in time. Colors, for me superb, warm. Focal "strange" to understand. For me it was love at first sight. An advantage/disadvantage: it is a fixed lens. To take pictures you have to use your legs and look for the shot according to the landscape. The zoom is practical and versatile, definitely, but, for me, the unmistakable quality of fixed lenses always pays off. Lens that I recommend to fans "of the old" and as an investment. If you find it on 600 euros, I wouldn't think twice. it is appropriate to say: "Old but gold". sent on July 26, 2023 |
![]() | Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Pros: Cost/price, STM engine, weight, quality Cons: It is not L series, but it does very well for "normal" (non-professional) use. Opinion: A lens that I bought used (2 times) from a colleague who had taken it new 1 month before. Paid 70 euros, practically given away. I also have the 50mm II, which in terms of construction and engine speed, has nothing to do with this STM. Honest goal, to have in the kit (even if only for "whim" of the taste of 50ino). Warm colors, beautiful blurred. Lens that, personally, I still have to take full advantage of to understand the philosophy (also having the 35mm, I notice that I use the latter more). For the price and quality it has, it is definitely a must-have. Compact, lightweight, it is easy to carry it around .... when you want to take away all the equipment. I recommend buying a hood (just taken) and "UV" / protective filter to avoid annoying dust in the concave part of the lens. sent on July 26, 2023 |
![]() | Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS USM Pros: Focal length, weight, sharp, stabilization Cons: It will not have the blur or quality of the 35L (which costs 3 times as much). Opinion: Personally I think it is a lens to always carry with you on the road. Lightweight, sharp, stabilized. For me, the focal length is enough to do to do "the all-rounder". I don't think its build quality can compete with zooms (16-35 / 17-40) --> tried both and 35mm, both lose quality compared to the fixed. Perfect between f4 -f8. Beautiful blurred. I find it "vintage". A lens that does not appear, but of substance. You always take home noteworthy shots. Very recommended! sent on October 23, 2022 |
