![]() | Leica Q3 43 Pros: Solid construction, great ergonomics and handling, excellent image quality, amazing APO lens and good battery life. Cons: Not exactly portability, high price (?) and absence of the supplied charger. Opinion: After owning a Leica SL2 (sold only because, although I loved it, it was too heavy for my use), my feeling with Leica never really disappeared. So, after about a year, I returned to Leica, this time with the Q3 43. Initially I was very undecided between Fujifilm X100VI and Leica Q2/Q3 (at the time for the Q3 I wanted the 28mm version). In the end I had chosen Fuji, but inside I felt that sooner or later I would return to Leica. In fact, even in the positive review I had left for the X100VI, I wrote that one day I would also have a Leica added to it. After about six months... I really did. The hardest choice was between 28mm and 43mm. In the end I opted for 43mm, especially for the type of photography I do and, in particular, for the lens. After the first test shots I completely fell in love with it. The APO-Summicron 43 lens is simply exceptional: practically absent chromatic aberration (as known, and in fact superior to the Summilux I had on the SL2), non-existent distortions, very clean files and a rendering that allows you to safely use even the digital zoom without a real loss of quality. It's an addictive camera: it makes you want to go out and photograph all the time. The Leica menu remains, as always, not very immediate and a bit confusing, but with a minimum of practice you can learn to navigate it without any particular problems. The Leica Looks are nice and well done, but the limitation to only 6 Looks that can be loaded at a time is a bit annoying: to try others you have to delete and redownload them from the app. A sore point is the charger not included: considering the high price, I find this choice hardly justifiable (and honestly I'm tired of this "clown" linked to the European Green legislation). The original charger costs almost € 200 and additional expenses must also be taken into account if you want an extra battery, although it must be said that the autonomy is still very good. On the portability front, the Q3 43 is not pocket-sized like the Fujifilm X100VI: for example, it doesn't fit in my Wandrd D1 Fanny Pack, while with the Fuji I can carry body, two conversion lenses (28 and 50) and batteries without problems. That said, I don't sell the Fuji – I keep both. They are two different cameras, which coexist very well and which, together, increase even more the desire to go out and photograph. The Leica Q3 43 is simply fantastic for reportage, street and conscious photography. The choice between 28 and 43 was not easy, but in the end the 43mm turned out to be, for me, the right choice. sent on December 18, 2025 |
![]() | Fujifilm X100VI Pros: Image quality, film simulations, construction, IBIS and AF, etc. Cons: Noise already visible when you go up a little ISO, not cheap but justified price Opinion: After years of curiosity about the Fujifilm system, I chose the X100VI as my first Fuji, after having evaluated the Leica Q2/Q3 for a long time. In the end I opted for Fuji for the best balance between price, quality and photographic philosophy, and I did not regret the choice. On my recent trip to the Faroe Islands, I decided to use it as my main camera, leaving the Sony A1 II and A7S III only for distant subjects and night photos. The X100VI has proven to be exceptionally compact, lightweight and transportable, ideal for those who travel a lot and always want to have a car ready. The noise begins to be noticed already by raising the ISO a little, but it was predictable and does not represent a real problem. The battery is surprisingly good: I arrive easily in the evening even with intense use, and on more than one occasion I managed to cover two days of shots without recharging. Film simulations are an absolute strength, my favorite is Classic Negative, for the soft and cinematic tonal rendering. I also tried the TCL-X100II (50mm) and WCL-X100II (28mm) teleconverters, both of which turned out to be excellent, maintaining the same quality and color consistency as the native lens. The Fujifilm X100VI is a premium compact with a real soul: it inspires, entertains and makes you want to photograph every day. Perfect for street, travel and everyday photography, it offers excellent quality, portability and pleasure of use like few other cameras today. One day I will try the Leica Q for comparison, but for now the X100VI remains a choice that I would make again without hesitation. Nice job, Fujifilm, who knows if I'll get the brand new GFX100RF. sent on October 25, 2025 |
![]() | Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max Pros: Standard 48MP photo, battery life, design Cons: A bit similar to the previous model (13), then of course... P R E Z Z O O O!!! Opinion: After many years finally the Cupertino house has decided to go from 12 to 48MP in the standard photo (while the wide-angle, night etc remained at 12MP, maybe there is). Improved processor, slightly longer battery life, night photos or in low-light places is definitely improved. It is quite similar to the previous model (13), but almost abysmal difference compared to the previous models (12). Who knows if the M1 will arrive at the 15th? We'll see. Against? I took the 1TB one and then I say: PREZZOOO! Even if I had taken 128GB or 256GB or 512GB my thinking would not change, the cons always remain PREZZOOO. It has definitely increased a lot. But we know that quality is paid for... (despite the quality the price is always exaggerated). sent on December 22, 2022 |
![]() | Sony FE 35mm f/1.4 GM Pros: Sharpness, bokeh, weight, size, etc. Cons: Honestly I do not find the points of the cons, perhaps the price, but we know that the quality of GM you pay! Opinion: Warning: This lens is addictive. Once put on camera, you risk falling in love and not taking it away again! It is a masterpiece. The sharpness and image quality is at the highest level, blurred very soft and sweet. One of the best 35mm around, if not "The Best of 35mm". I used it not only for portraits, but also the landscape and the street for proof, and I was very satisfied. What can I say? The GM series confirms its highest quality. sent on December 10, 2022 |
![]() | Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM Pros: Quality, sharpness, tropicalization Cons: Nothing, maybe the price Opinion: I have owned it for about two years, I consider it one of the best lenses in the Sony house (and perhaps unbeatable in the wide-angle category, nothing to envy to canon or Nikon). I shoot there of any category (dayscape, night landscape, astrophotography/aurora, etc.) and it never disappointed me. I combine it with the A7R IV (light noises, but it is for 61MP of A7R IV, there is, correctable in Adobe, in question the optics have nothing to do with it). I love her. It costs, yes, but we are talking about a very high quality. I will not go into details because others, here in the reviews, have already talked about it. I associate them. Take it and you will not regret it. I will probably take the Sony 14 1.8 to match this 16-35 2.8 for greater aperture (mm and aperture). sent on July 16, 2022 |

![]() | Huawei P30 Pro Pros: Battery life, night photo, double SIM Cons: Warp screen, non-fast ignition ID Opinion: The battery life is impressive, awesome night photo. I don't like the fact that it has a warp screen, the ignition with Face ID or fingerprint is not so fast, it can't detect the face when a place is dark (with iPhone 11 Max Pro you can and it's very fast). RAM ok, it's so quick to open the app. Dual Sim ok. Internal functions not up to par, at least for me, a little limited. sent on April 13, 2020 |
![]() | Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max Pros: Improved screen, RAM, internal functions etc. Cons: Night photo still not up to par, very simple and limited night photo manual Opinion: I own two smartphones (Huawei P30 Pro and iPhone 11 Max Pro). For the night photos Huawei still beats it, despite the iPhone 11 Max Pro coming out after The Huawei P30 Pro. I can understand this, because it's the first time that the Apple company can produce nightly photos on the iPhone. But he still hasn't won. Because I tried to shoot both at the Northern Lights, the cities, etc. and so I say that Huawei wins clearly. And Huawei also beats iPhone for RAM and speed. iPhone internal features more simplified than the Huawei, so easier to work (at least for me). For the screen for me wins iPhone. Very clear, very clear, etc. sent on April 13, 2020 |
![]() | Samyang 14mm f/2.8 IF ED UMC Aspherical Pros: Price Cons: Little sharpness Opinion: I bought it because of the price last year, because I wasn't a photography expert yet. Using it I found little sharpness in night photography (Milky Way, Aurora Borealis, etc). Perhaps better the next version (Samyang XP 14mm f/2.4). Satisfied with the price and slightly satisfied with the product. sent on August 08, 2019 |
