olympus_omd_em1_iiiOlympus OM-D E-M1 III

Pros: Build quality, Tropicalization, Technology, Weight and overall dimensions, Ergonomics

Cons: Few.. autofocus and the Oly menu maybe.

Opinion: Simply gorgeous, I did some road trips and some work on it for about 5 years (bought in 2019 and sold in 2025), perfect almost always and hardly misses a beat, for the amount of technology and specs it has weight and bulk are fabulous (more solid and slightly heavier than the entry-level), focus stacking, live composition, impressive stabilization, I took 2 second shots by hand, in short, it is useless to praise the merits, they are many .. I will first tell you what are (humbly in my opinion) the "semi-defects": - the Olympus menu, nothing is missing and if you look well you find everything but I have never digested it, but there is the quick menu that helps a lot. - noise at ISO 6400+ : in addition to the noise slight aberrations towards magenta or green, nothing that cannot be solved in POST and cmq more an MFT limit than Oly - Autofocus is very good, but not perfect, the eye recognition left me hanging more than once, and during the burst (which is still scary today) it is even more boring. - Live ND : So.. this should be a virtue, I was hoping to leave the ND filters at home.. but almost always it was not enough for long (LONG) exposure, also I never liked the viewfinder feedback, I always felt the lack of a plate in front of the lens. - HighResShot (Both 50M handheld and 80M tripod): this is also a great advantage, and Olympus was (if I'm not mistaken) the first ever to implement it, however the comp in the machine often requires you to have to wait (quite a few seconds) for the high res to be cooked, I would have preferred a function to be able to decide whether to do it later on the PC - the accompanying applications: Om Workspace / Capture / Image Share... I've always found them not very streamlined and not always up to date, quite nervous especially when I happened to do live captures with OM Capture and it went into hang/crash often and willingly. incidentally, I had to sell it but it will remain forever in my heart, as well as the Olympus lenses.

olympus_em5_iiOlympus OM-D E-M5 II

Pros: Lightweight, technologically advanced (for 2015), remarkable stabilization, Cool

Cons: noise, autofocus and battery life.

Opinion: I loved this camera, as soon as I picked it up (I had it from 2017 to 2019) it made me fall in love with photography again, it makes you want to shoot.the flaws were there, noise at high iso, autofocus so-so, battery life .. the worst perhaps the Olympus menu and dedicated apps, but all forgivable for the amount of technology and precision it contains. I simply loved it!

sigma_50-200osSigma 50-200mm f/4-5.6 DC OS HSM

Pros: Price, weight

Cons: Aberration already from 120mm, loss of definition on the edges, dark

Opinion: A discreet optics (just bought), at a very competitive price compared to the competition (same product band) and light to take on the road, the defects found after 4 years of use are many, some really annoying, aberration Chromatic for me already visible from 120mm including, at 200 mm practically useless, especially since it becomes dark and drastically loses definition, the stabilizing motor has started to micro-vibrate already after a year of use. I say only that in the last period I avoided to mount it because I knew I would be unnerved once I open the raw (look at the crocodile in "high" resolution).
