fujifilm_23_f2wrFujifilm XF 23mm f/2 R WR

Pros: all

Cons: Maybe the lens hood

Opinion: I've been using it for 5 years now and it's the only lens I've never sold. It is practically always glued to the xpro1, light, tropicalized and sharp enough. Precise and quiet AF. Let's come to the lens hood, well I find it "strange" and I don't even know if it really works. The only thing that is certain is that I don't find compact alternatives and so I always leave him attached hoping he does his job well. Together with the 14mm they are a fantastic pair. Vote 10.

leica_elmarit28_f2-8rLeica Elmarit-R 28mm f/2.8

Pros: build quality, optics, files, lens hood.

Cons: It's addictive.

Opinion: I have the version with a VI lens hood and it looks like new, with no signs of wear or scratches. Fantastic lens that I use with a lot of love on the Fuji X-Pro2. I have to say that I really like the 28mm focal length that then becomes 42 on Fuji. The only defect that is addictive. Hard to take it off to use the 23F2. Paid 400 euros, but I think it's money well spent. Coupled with the orange 48mm Vivitar filter to darken the sky since I shoot in BW and the SOOC file produced by my fuji is already perfect.

joby_gorillapod_1kJoby GorillaPod 1K

Pros: light, small, handy

Cons: I don't like the head and how it screws

Opinion: A good tripod that goes alongside the mini manfrotto and a carbon K&F. The gorillapod is a valuable help when I have to take photos with the ND filter in awkward or impossible positions with the classic. Tested on a log, railings and it didn't fail even though I kept the camera around my neck as a precaution. The only negative note is that I don't like the tripod head, I would have preferred it to be disassembled to screw the camera better as I find it annoying and risky to rotate the tripod to screw it to my Fuji. Tested with XPRO2 and 14mm, the 23mm and 33mm without any problems. Problematic with 90 Leica elmarit as it doesn't hold over 1k. Paid 40 euros, the right price for this GorillaPod.

fujifilm_xe2Fujifilm X-E2

Pros: lightweight, small, handy, fabulous 16mpx files, die-hard material, made in Japan.

Cons: Today nothing as I use it.

Opinion: I have been using it for years and bought it used on RCE, it arrived in perfect condition and still has no major signs of wear. I find it perfect when I trek without worrying about it breaking. The 16 mpx file is fabulous, the simulations are excellent especially the Classic Chrome that I often use. It performs well with vintage optics thanks to the focus peaking. The only flaw and if I want to remove the battery when it is on the tripod I can not do it because the door is covered in part. AF is certainly not lightning fast but can be used in almost all situations, except for too fast actions or very fast and unpredictable movements. I don't see any other flaws considering that it came out 10 years ago. I think it's the last Fuji made Japan.

fujifilm_16-50ois_iiFujifilm XC 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS II

Pros: Value for money, sharpness, lightness, fast AF. OIS.

Cons: No diaphragm ring

Opinion: I had it as a gift and honestly having the 1680 I did not know what to do with it since it does not have the aperture ring but then after taking several shots I was amazed by the sharpness up to 50mm. The PP is very limited to the few light/shadow and contrast corrections and then the file is ready. Tested on XPRO series. For someone it is dark but honestly with this lens I am not interested in bokeh, portraits but I make landscapes. Already at F 5.6 it is more than sharp until F11 I did not notice large losses. At 16mm it distorts if you are not careful and compared to the 1680 you notice the difference only if you zoom in on the PC you notice it. For the rest, I find it excellent. Will I keep it? I do not know because already owner of the 1680 but its lightness tells me to keep it and coupled with the XE2 becomes a nice light compact.

viltrox_af33_f1-4Viltrox AF 33mm f/1.4

Pros: Lightweight, small and good flare resistance

Cons: nothing dramatic

Opinion: I used it for a while on the Xe2 because on the XPRO series it creates problems for me and I found it as excellent as the famous "magic" 35mm. It costs half but even less today and is worth the money spent. AF sometimes fails with low-light scenes, but so does Fuji. Usually I shoot in manual so I do not pose the problem if it does not find AF. Light more than expected and not as big as it may seem from the photos. It is not a focal length to my liking but it is not worth selling it for a few pennies since it has been too criticized to the point of collapsing the price of the new. Ring decliccata has its pros and cons and until now I have never happened to move it unintentionally.

fujifilm_16-80_f4wrFujifilm XF 16-80mm f/4 R OIS WR

Pros: sharp, fast, tropicalized and performing

Cons: a bit big for my taste

Opinion: I find it fantastic and I bought it (less than 500 euros) because on vacation I wanted a well-made all-rounder. Taken instead of the 14mm which was perfect but was a focal length to me not liked. With the 1680 I do not pose the problem of changing lenses because it is sharp at all focal lengths especially at 80mm where I was surprised how you can read the writings on a sign placed at a distance after zommato the PC. Maybe he loses a little at F4 but who cares. I use it on the Xe2/Xpro1 with great satisfaction. It is second only to the 23F2 that I rarely leave at home and that I consider a must have goal.

fujifilm_14mmFujifilm XF 14mm f/2.8 R

Pros: colors,no distortion, sharpness

Cons: Soft diaphragm bezel

Opinion: What can I say I chased him for a long time and in the end for 340 euros I took him at an eBay auction. Never happier could I be. It is the wide angle par excellence that can not miss in the backpack. Crazy sharpness all over the frame, F8 scary! Virtually no distortion. The only flaw is the diaphragm ring seems almost decliccata. Perfect distance scale for me shooting in MF. Autofocus I don't give a damn because I don't use it. Excellent pairing with X-Pro1 and X-e2. I had the sammy12 and viltrox 13 tried for a week, but this Fuji is absolutely unattainable. Must Have.

fujifilm_x-pro1Fujifilm X-PRO1

Pros: Crosshairs, superlative JPEG, vintage, top aesthetics and much more.

Cons: slowness in saving the shots, a little great.

Opinion: What about I've had it for 8 months and I was in love with this vintage style camera. It was supposed to be my second that flanked the XE2 but lately I can't help it especially with vintage optics. Perfect even with the 23mm. RAW files are great, superlative JPEG so much that I use it when I want to shoot in BW without banging in raw room. I am one of those who is convinced that it is not necessary to invest in the machine body unless you use it in the sports field or on a professional level, but that in case you have to invest in optics even if I personally prefer vintage optics for their yield that comes very close to my way of "presenting" photography. As a negative point but you already knew is its slowness in saving photos, so forget a flurry of modern machines. I would avoid using it in night time because of the af that is certainly not at the forefront, but if it is not too dark you can take the shot home without any problems.

pentacon_mc29_f2-8Pentacon Auto MC 29mm f/2.8

Pros: light, sharp, elegant, dial, infinite.

Cons: bad at the edges up to F4

Opinion: Paid 30 eurini and I must say it is worth all the money spent. I also like the yield, sharp at the right point. The ring is perfect, as I like it. Only flaw and that if you use it at F2.8 the edges on APSC are poor in detail, but if I'm doing a bokeh does not weigh me, if I'm making a picture set, the only solution is the CROP in PP. In landscape I find it great as well as in the street and reportage to such an extent that I sold the 27mm fuji to keep me this. The focus and scale of distances are perfectly where they need to be. I keep it attached to the XE2 that alter with the 135mm Leica Elmarit.

samyang_12_f2ncsSamyang 12mm f/2.0 NCS CS

Pros: sharpness, colors, bokeh, lightness

Cons: Infinite focus.

Opinion: I had this lens for some time on Fuji Xe-2 / XPRO1 and I had a great time, but in the end I sold it. Why? simply for my use was too WIDE. I love landscape but I don't like landscapes taken from afar to the point where I can't distinguish anything except zooming in. In other cases I would shoot too many useless things and could not always be excluded from the pp photo. I prefer to put in the foreground a subject taking advantage of the large area behind and in that case it was great, but in the end I opted for the 23mm (35mm FF). The only flaw is to focus on infinity, which alas in my model did not coincide, but was slightly before the "L". Cmq for the price paid is worth the expense, if it cost 400 euros absolutely not.

leica_elmarit135_f2-8rLeica Elmarit-R 135mm f/2.8

Pros: colors, blurry, sharpening and lampshade. MUST HAVE.

Cons: not having it is like committing a crime.

Opinion: I own the "CANADA" model and use it on fujifilm x-e2 and I find it absolutely a fantastic lens for portraiture but also for landscapes and street to stay in peace. The lens is MF but it is right that the objectives should be. I hate autofocus because because you don't learn to photograph and then the manual focus is of a unique simplicity, indeed it is almost impossible to miss it especially in portraits with differences of an autofocus. Also great in the still life" where the MF is fundamental. The performance is crazy, I get stunned when I see it on the display and even more so at the monitor of my PC Benq. There is little to do in post production other than to correct some skin defects, but often the portraits shoot them in JPEG as fuji is number one especially in Black and White. The blurred is very soft and the bokeh is very pleasant and as it should be. Perfect COLORS and detail is present on the whole photo in a perfect way. Focal length 135mm on FF but it becomes a 200mm on my fuji which allows me to stand even further back at about 4 meters. The dial of the MAF is absolutely moribid is perfect. A DELNOT NOT AVERLO and I highly recommend everyone not to get brainwashed by taking the latest models by paying them a bang for a fake and unreal sharpness. Take a step back because the real photograph is in MF with vintage lenses, Helios, Zeiss, Leica or Pentax that it is, and then the bokeh and yield is unbeatable. I conclude by saying only the fact that it is called LEICA is a MUST HAVE.

zeiss_jena-tessar_50_f2-8Zeiss Jena Tessar 50mm f/2.8

Pros: The price, fabulous Bokeh, bright colors of zeiss lenses, macro photos. Fabulous F11.

Cons: Nothing for the price paid.

Opinion: Let's start by saying that the Bokeh at F2.8 is fabulous if you like the soap bubble effect that is great at its peak if you shoot with the subject from 1 meter to 2 and with the background placed around 5 meters. The sharpness is impressive if you think it's 50-60 and is recoverable in PP. The top you'll see it at F11 perfect at the edges. In the evening it gives you an impressive 10-pointed star, but if you try to close at F16 and beyond it comes out gorgeous, but you lose sharpness, so here comes into play a nice multiexposure with F11 base and Recovery F16 stars. In the daytime I love it and I never take it out of the car so much that I decided to buy a Fujifilm x-e2 leaving it fixed. For many the sharpness is obsolete, but I prefer more this one that returns the "real" photo than the modern ones that look like photos exited from Autocad, however beautiful, but very unreal. I conclude by saying that for 40 euros is worth the expense and take home also excellent portraits. Only mole but I think it's a problem of mine, the inifinite is about 2. Once you know, go easy.

leica_dlux_109Leica D-Lux (Typ 109)

Pros: Sharp, bright lens. Manual use just fantastic. Quick commands and menus in use. Perfect wreaths.

Cons: Nothing, it's not touch but I prefer it like this, even better.

Opinion: Absolutely a car to have with you all the time. It is a handyman both as a portrait, as well as a landscape day and night. At the ISO level shots at 3200 in the evening without problems and 6400 you are at the limit but cmq great for the web and monitors but also in small 40x30 prints. All recoverable in PP. In jpeg at 12000 ISO still holds at 6400 is great, then if you convert them to BW you can also use it at 12800 ISO. Cmq I do not go but the over ISO 200, but in the churches I go to 3200 and I take home great shots. On the barrel there is everything you need, from AF/MF to the 1:1 aspect pad until 16:9 and above all diaphragmmi diaphragm, a must have from pro lens. The dial of time completes this fabulous machine and if we turn there is also that of compensation. Behind it we have the block AF/AE, ISO, EVF and wifi. Practically you don't need to enter the menu in fact I never do because I have everything you need. I often mold 70x50 but I pushed myself to 140x100 with excellent definition, practically perfect even from 20cm. Maybe only NEO if it had been touch for focus would have completed its extraordinary performance, but I do not make a drama because I always shoot in MF and manual.

panasonic_lumix35-100oisPanasonic Lumix G Vario 35-100mm f/4.0-5.6 ASPH OIS

Pros: Very light, sharp enough

Cons: At 100mm you have to stand on F 5.6 max F8. F11 already loses a lot.

Opinion: Bought along with the GF7 and use it as a second body machine and I have to say that I was surprised by the sharpness. Obviously ninth is comparable to a ZEISS but if you don't look for that crispy sharpness of high level for what it costs it's worth. At 35mm up to F11 it performs very well, at 50mm to F5.6 from the best of itself and holds up well until F8, already at F11 loses a lot. At 100mm you shoot only at F5.6 to get the megio, after you lose on the street but it remains good until F11. At night I thought it was bad, but if you take F8 you will be surprised by the sharpness. Of course you have to use a tripod. For the rest for what it costs used is worth the price. I have a gallery with photos of it.
