![]() | Zeiss Planar T* 50mm f/1.7 (C/Y) Pros: Solid construction, high resolving power, excellent microcontrast Cons: Nobody Opinion: I have two (one AEJ and one MMJ), of very similar performance, which I use exclusively on Contax film cameras. Since the eighties this optics was distinguished by an excellent uniformity between center and edges, excellent microcontrast, cold color rendering. Preferable to CZ 50/1.4, unless maximum opening of the latter is required. It does not disfigure at all when compared with modern optics, except for a certain degradation in the images with a framed light source. Ultimately, a gem... sent on February 03, 2022 |
![]() | Nikon AF-S Nikkor 24mm f/1.8 G ED Pros: Sharpness, compactness Cons: Non-robust lampshed Opinion: I just bought it and use it on a D750, but especially on an F6. On film (especially on all color slides) it is excellent in any respect... Even in digital the results are excellent in all respects. Having never been able to use the Nikkor AF-S 24 f/1.4, I can obviously not make comparisons. However, an excellent optics... sent on May 31, 2021 |
![]() | Nikon AF-S DX 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 G II Pros: Excellent clarity when compared to price, compactness Cons: nothing Opinion: Excellent lens if used for the use for which it was designed. It provides very good results by barely closing the diaphragm, although it is by no means to be despised at all openness. It has high distortion, especially at minor focal lengths, easily corrected in Lightroom. Excellent device that, in the rest position, reduces its footprint, although it can cause a slight delay in readiness if it needs to be unlocked. sent on May 08, 2021 |
![]() | Nikon F6 Pros: Ergonomics, robustness, performance. Cons: Nobody. Opinion: Gorgeous machine from any point of view. The possibility of using all the latest Nikon F optics (with the partial exception of the very recent E, equipped with electromagnetic diaphragm, which can only be used at full aperture) eliminates the performance gap with vintage optics towards DSLRs. Using it expertly with films with excellent solving power, I consider it a challenge to modern digital. If you then talk about projecting well-made slides with an analog projector, well, there is not and there can be no comparison with any digital projector... sent on March 26, 2021 |
